  1. I've had about half a dozen of these now, the latest being:

Display Name Date Subscription Status Reward

USERNAME_DELETED 03.20.16 Subscription has been inactive for over 90 days 200 (CC)

Somehow this referral managed to not only give much less than the 600CC that I'm supposed to get but also go through the 90 day expiration period in less than 10 days.

When making tickets about the subject all I get is

After a thorough investigation and countless search fields used, I've ran into many cases of the same caliber and I can say with 100% certainty that the program is working as intended. The first bonus of cartel coins will be 600 and after that each month you'll get 100 cartel coins.

despite it obviously isn't working correctly.

  2. It's pretty normal for games to be cheaper in certain countries. Here's some of the countries that usually get games a lot cheaper than other countries: Brazil, Columbia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Falkland Islands, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.

Most 60$/50€ games will usually be 50-75% cheaper in those countries.

  3. I agree but this was always a problem with packs ... What has been done is to take those stinking bracers and give you a chance at something far more worthwhile or at the very least better resale value than what the bracers had when everyone had 10+ of them from the same crate ( and no one could buy different crates because there's only 1 at a time on the market for some stupid bloody reason - I really hate that change removing options ).

Also if the drop rate is around 60% for cubes as we are seeing from most reports and Bioware states they've reduced this drop rate from the old bronze items in packs ... how bloody bad was the bronze drop rate before?

Yeh I don't mind the chance cubes so much, getting Bracers with those Platinum packs was just plain annoying though. For a Gold tier item, bracers are just ridiculous.

  4. I liked the platinum pack, not sure why they got rid of it. Probably as you imply ... too many whingers not getting that exact one item they wanted from their 100 packs then decide the entire pack is crap and the sky is falling.

One thing is not getting the item they want from the platinum pack, another thing entirely IMO is how often you'd get a stinkin set of bracers from it. So much for buying packs with visual stuff / fancy pixels and getting stuff that you often won't be seeing on your outfit anyway.

  5. Tell that to the Zakuul Knights.

Tell them what? I can't remember any of them using shields during in-game combat and the Exarch who does never blocks/deflects anything + has fugly combat animation:

Additionally, the Zakuul Knights aren't Jedi or Bounty Hunters. The tank classes we play in SWTOR are.

  6. Regular Shields just doesn't really lend itself to Star Wars, at least I've yet to hear of any Jedi or Bounty Hunter using a regular shield as part of their gear.

Introducing shields would also mean introducing a new game mechanic and possibly a lot of new combat animations and I highly doubt they'd put that much effort into what is pretty much just a cosmetic change.

  7. As it is now, Commando Gunnery is a tad stronger than Sniper on Dummy parses, the damage potential of Arsenal is a bit higher than Sniper. Commando Gunnery is also more mobile than Sniper with the right Utilities.

However, once the fight has some AoE damage to be dealt I think you'll find Sniper doing more damage in pretty much all cases.

  8. It will probably be difficult to find a slot machine on GTN. I'd rather suggest you ask someone or a guild if they will invite you to their stronghold so you can use their slot machine. You can possibly also use Public Strongholds (look in Stronghold wing on the Republic/Imperial Fleet) to access a slot machine.

The drop rate on reputation is decent, the drop rate on Cartel Certificates is extremely low.

  9. I tried both ways, and the OP's link went to, like, actual pictures. Short of video showing the role-play that goes with the gear, that's the only thing that counts for cosplay.

There's a thumbnail on the Reddit page, click it and you go straight to the gallery of the one who made the cosplay, the gallery SWTORstrategies knicked the pictures from for their "article".

  10. Well, if you don't mind going at it with the Outfit Designer, the Electrum Onslaught pants made by Armormechs would be a good match for that set.

As for boots...look for any that share the same model as the Jedi Battlelord boots. I think those would match pretty well. (NOT the Jedi Battlelord boots themselves, mind you; those have this weird green tint to them and they don't dye very well. That said, I'm sure my Synthweaver makes some similar medium- and heavy-armor boots.)

The Electrum Onslaught leggings are really close, sadly they dye quite differently from the rest of the gear :( I'm not sure there's a dye that can make up for the color difference.

Instead, I went with the Remnant Yavin Knight's Greaves. They don't look as good as Electrum Onslaught but they fit better in terms of color.

The boots are Eradicator, couldn't really find Jedi boots with decent dye setup.

I also tried using Remulus Dreypa's boots, looks decent IMO: http://imgur.com/a/ZaLbX#7

  11. Yeah, they put them up in varying cycles, you just need to keep checking the CM and see whats for sale, good luck!

I'm pretty sure they stopped cycling the packs (apart from the introduction of each pack ofc) after they introduced Bronze+Silver+Gold packs. The idea now is that you either buy the pack when it's first available or try your luck on the Bronze+Silver+Gold packs.

  12. whats wrong with the boots already on? although...I personally dont like those..so I wouldve made them all dark so I dont see the horrible round like shape..of the foot .

I just don't think they fit the top part of the outfit that well + both the boots and leggings have white stripes that can't be dyed. I'd like to use Advanced Slicer leggings but they don't dye well either :p

  13. The game is just really not built for it and I doubt they could do it without putting a ton of work into it.

The planets are pretty much like maps in Counter Strike (except much bigger of course), once you watch from above you'd be able to see exactly which parts of the planet Bioware didn't put in. Especially planets like Yavin suffers from this.

I'm also uncertain just how well SWTOR can handle high speed movement, flying with the 110% speed our current speeder have would probably feel extremely slow.

For now, you can try do what http://ravalation.blogspot.dk/2015/03/swtor-aerial-photography.html did to see the planets from above. Some look really good from above, others much less so.

  14. I think it's fine as long as it is unique versions rather than entirely unique armor, and then perhaps even have a unique version for each game aspect (Ops, PvP, GSF, Conquest?, Crafting?) so everyone has a shot at getting at least one of the versions.

    Example:

Ops: Blue light effect (current Kell Dragon)

PvP: Kell Dragon but with Orange/fire effect

    GSF: Red effect

    Conquest: Green effect

    Crafting: Yellow effect

  15. I think Levelsync is a good idea, however, the content on lower level planets is not that exciting once you've experienced the story there. I've run the heroics a couple times and I find myself having a list over which ones are the fastest rather than which ones I enjoy the most as none of them are fun enough to warrant such a list.

Level sync is stupid, here's why:

    1. Gear has no meaning anymore, green level 40 gear is the same as 224 purple gear

Only true on low level areas. 224 gear is still meaningful at lvlcap areas and HM/NiM Operations.

    2. Ops are obsolete, all the gear that drops has no advantage over green gear

If your only goal of doing Ops is to kill planet mobs faster then yes. If you do Ops to have fun and for the challenge, lvlsync doesn't matter.

    3. Levels are obsolete, no need for levels anymore, you will get down sync'ed to planet's level anyway

You still need levels to access new, higher level content.

    4. 95% of all content, levels and gear are obsolete.

Got to love statistics made up on the spot. Still, whatever % it is now it's still an improvement over pre-sync.

    5. Loot drops from level sync'ed planets / low level heroics are obsolete, you'll get low level items

Yeah but you can just sell them + it's no different from what you got pre-sync.

    6. You can't solo heroics or world bosses / you can't kill some champion npc's solo

Heroics and most champion mobs can definitely be soloed. As for not being able to solo world bosses I really don't see that as a problem.

    7. All class buffs, stims, gear have NO EFFECT on your health/dps/healing

Health doesn't change as you say.

The power/defence on stims is still a boost as far as I can see. The Smuggler/IA and Inq/Consular buffs still have effect on you. Gear definitely matters, on Coruscant I can see a stat increase when swapping from a 188 tank piece to a 192 tank piece.

    8. Tanks have same health and other stats as dps or healers

Same health? yep. Other stats? not at all.

    shall i go on ?

Considering how rarely you're correct there's not much reason to go on.

  16. Look, even if the comps aren't as OP now, you still have to do only about a third of the missions available. Levelling is absurdly fast in 4.0 even after the nerf. I can literally do just the class story missions, and maybe one group FP a day, and still be overleveled, which is what I was pretty much doing back in 12x XP!

I can't believe that people are complaining about the grind considering what we had to go through before now.

If your only goal is to level then sure, it is a lot faster than before. As for getting through the class/planet/etc stories, it definitely matters how long it takes to kill each mob.

At this point I'd gladly take a XP reduction per kill/mission if it meant mobs would die faster.
