  1. Well it's good to see the SGR people are getting some attention. They've only been asking for the option since beta. I have to agree with the lack of class updates though. It's a killer. My character is basically in limbo right now. If you are never going to expand the class stories could you at least let us redo them.
  2. What a misleading ad I got in my email "Extend Your Saga". So i think it's safe to say the experiment failed and not everything needs to be fully voiced. I would rather have class stories than fully voiced. And I'm one of the people who doesn't spacebar through all the dialogue. But what worries me more is when will we ever see more class stories? Class story is basically the only thing separating you from any other MMO.
  3. It's a joke to suggest these patches are beefy. The 1.1, 1.2 patches SHOULD be beefy because they were just aftre release . Even then half those fixes were to make the server stable ,reduce queues. We should be seeing FAR more fixes, especially to classes. With class getting so little content Bioware is basically saying they are balanced. No.. they aren't. More work needs to be done with this game. ANd patching Ilum every week doesn't make the patch beefy.
  4. She hates the Empire. And if you play as a loyal servant to theEmpire she hates you. Plus she doesn't hold aggro very well and doesn't seem to be able to take the hits compared to Corso. I actually find her the most frustrating and annoying character in the game.
  5. I don't think he was being that childish. I think the problem is a larger reflection of the community. Yeah you can say it was a pug. But 9/10 a pug is no problem. See the trouble is, I've seen the exact same thing happen. In two different pugs, on different characters I ended up grouped with the same guy. Both times he rolled need for something he couldn't use and then apologized. Now part of me says the guy is just having a bad day. But the realist says, he rolls need then apologizes to make it look like it was an accident. And he takes the equipment and puts it on his companions. Now I hope that isn't what you do. But since people do these kind of things, I don't know if you can blame someone for acting like that. Heck I've seen people openly roll need for their companions or even for the mods.
  6. For me the issue is, they added a new dungeon instead of fixing issues. Granted it was likely already done. But at release there was a clear list of issues that needed to be looked at. You ask me to look at other MMO's, I remember basically every other MMO I've played the patch notes following release read like a small novel of bug fixes. This is just so hollow.
  7. No, you can't. The ones I have it's all bonus content that I can't abandon. They want me to go to instanced areas that I no longer have access to. Honestly, this is just beyond sad. That this situation even exists blows my mind.
  8. ^This. There is a limit of how much huttball I can take. So I either give up trying to play pvp or sit through another round of huttball which is the most annoying game ever invented.
  9. I'll bump this. I remember saying I was going to make a Consular long before the gmae came out. And the first response I got was friends was "Haha, what are you going to dor? Throw pebbles at me" Lots of pebble jokes.
  10. Yes, our own customization is certainly more important. Although that is already on the list, and I imagine a similar mechanic being used to change both our own avatars and companions. So I'm suggesting it now with hopes it might get enough attention and maybe be added when we can finally alter our own apperance. None of that makes sense. Did you read my post? You can already alter the apperance of companions. You simply pick from presets. All I am saying, is use the character creator to make Mako (or applicable companion) how you want. Maybe you like Mako preset 3 but you wish it had preset 5's hair and preset 4's cybernetics. Right now you have to choose. I'm saying, give us the ability to use something similar to the character creator and alter these details. It is just an expanded version of the preset system. It isn't radially changing the character in any way. Obviously gender and race can't be changed. And some restrictions like height may also need to be put in place. Star Trek Online, gives you as much flexibility as the character creator (again limiting you from changing race or gender) when creating Bridge Officers. This is something I see putting in either along with or after we get the ability to alter our own characters. But it's something I'd like to put out there to think about.

    XP off

I agree with this. The problem with the way it's set up, if you do all the bonus missions you will outlevel whole planets before you even get to them. And more content shouldn't seem like a problem, right. But you have to go through the planet to unlock the bonus content. So you either skip the bonus content you may want to experience or you do the normal planet quest and the bonus quest outleveling your next planet. And if you do the bonus content there you simply widen the gap.
  12. I'll say upfront, I don't design games, so I'm not sure how easy or hard it is. People I know who actually do make games say this would be fairly easy to do. So each class has two voices, one for each gender. This gets to be a bit boring when you have multiples in a group and we all sound the same. The voice pitch slider would simply allow you to alter the already existing voices. It would give a variety of voices, they all stem from the same voice but we can at least add some variety to the voice. Again I don't know how easy or hard that is, but making your character unique is an important part of a MMO.
  13. So obviously some companions won't make it since their race isn't a playable option. But if their race is a playable option, why can't we run them through a version of the character creator to actually make them what we want to look like. Example. we get the Bounty Hunter Companion Mako. We are then taken to the screen where we can customize her. (or a NPC). Some aspects will be locked. She is already a female cyborg so we don't even have the option of changing race or sex. But because of camera angles body type might also need to be locked. Outside of that, why can't we change her implants, hair colour, eye colour, skin, scars .. everything. Being able to design our companions how we like shouldn't be this complicated
  14. Yes, please. Stop the droid from talking. He is so annoying.
  15. I say IA. The end of act 1 is easy to see coming since they literally leave one option. Act 2 has nothing to do with Act 1, you don't continue your story from Act 1 you simply shift gears and go after an entirely different, unrelated target (I admit though many classes seem to suffer from this). Act 3 starts interesting, the final fight is no surprise. With all the story built around Act 3 the end is a huge disappointment.
  16. Cybertech can also craft all ship components, which can be used by any class. And droid parts which is useful for those classes that have droid comanions. Why don't you take a look at Armstech which can only make barrels, something 50% of the classes don't use and tell me again how Cybertech isn't useful.
  17. SWG was simply very hardcore. But there are segments of the MMO world who love that kind of gameplay. And for those that took advatnage of SWGs deep crafting, they made a nice profit from it. Was it for everyone? No. But they were hardly bad. And really, TOR certainly has more then it's fair share of crafting issues.
  18. Because the story isn't impressive. I have now heard of 3 classes past act 1. What happens? The same thing that happened in Dragon Age 2. The first act has nothing to do with the rest of the story. This isn't a good story. Furthermore many of the quests in act 1 are the same. Go to planet 1 do whatever your story asks of you. Go to planet 2, rinse and repeat. Again, this isn't story, this is just a sad excuse to go from one planet to another. Doing the exact same thing. And then, after you finally finish act 1, to have it thrown aside to work on a completely different story that has nothing to do with what you spent all that time on. These are poorly written stories, and that is why players din't appreciate them. They expect a higher quality from bioware
  19. Black Talon on the Imperial side has a wonderfully twisted choice. There is a general defecting, you are sent to capture him. When finally capturing him he is severely wounded. The good option. Take him in. Where he even says he will be tortured until his death. The evil option Kill the extremely injured man. The kneejerk is to say killing is bad. But you are not only putting someone out of their misery you are saving them from near endless torture at the hands of the Sith.
  20. Armstech is useless. The only thing worthwhile they can sell is barrels. Even then only 50% of the classes use them. Add to that the fact you can easily get a better barrel early on Ilum, there is simply no point to take Armstech. Artifice can make colour crystals and enhancements, things used by everyone. And Cybertech. Well what can't they make. Why Armstech doesn't make grenades and weapons for starships is beyond me. I level Armstech to 400, and was the biggest mistake.
  21. My larger problem is that it didn't seem like an emergency maintence. Plus the misleading topic title. My guild was getting ready to run flashpoints. The fact that is caught ALL of us by surprise should say something. Furthermore, looking at these patch notes "Improved service to reduce the number of player disconnections to the character selection screen. " "Improving" something doesn't sound like an emergency. When people are exploiting something and making a million credits in an hour, that's an emergency. This seems like a quality of life issue. Maybe the notes are just poorly written, but again this goes back to poor communication. Bioware still needs to work on communication. Really, we are passed release. Just give us clear simple information. No one likes surprises like this.
  22. Carbonite. In the movies they weren't sure if Han would survive. Thousands of years previous and everyone is doing it. I think more lore has been butchered to make this game look iconic then anything.
  23. That's not true, Bioware could have taken a page from previous games like Warhammer Online and Planetside. Granted, those are more pvp based but they could have tweaked it. Basically if one team was strongly outnumbering the other the weaker team got a bonus. Sometimes it was XP or a bonus to what TOR would call Valor. I don't know if some sort of bonus would make a huge difference, but it would be more then what they've attempted so far..
  24. A friend of mine finished the BH class. He said except for the end class quest the story was pretty lacking. Lots of filler like welcome to a new planet, here's your bounty. Which would make sense for the class, but I imagine is less exciting then it could have been.
  25. 6/10 I think fully voiced was a mistake, I've hit the part where I'm hitting space bar since I've heard it all before. Basically at this point the class story is the only one worth listening to. It's so linear my eyes burn. I think it actually doesn't makes you not want to level an alt. You look at all the content and say. I have to do all this again? Why are the wasteland planets also some of the biggest? Honestly, I don't care how "Iconic" Tatooine and Hoth are. They are giant wastelands, planets people avoid and try to escape from. Why would you make them some of the largest planets? This is more minor, but it annoys me. Lack of art assets. Oh look, I'm fighting the same monster I fought on 3 other planets. I think this one is slightly more reddish... No actually it's the same. He look I'm in the one house phase they seem to have. And this is the same warehouse layout I've seen on basically every planet. Huttball. Specifically how non-force users have little mobility. Watch as Sages/ Inquisitors run past you and Warriors/Knights leap up to higher levels. Watch as the non-force users take the stairs. Crafting. Why does Cybertech make everything? They could have at least thrown Arms/Armor a bone and let them craft ship shields/weapons. And Why Cybertech crafts grenades and not Arms is beyond me. One more time, just how utterly linear it is. Here's your ship, explore the galaxy! Just don't go here, here, here, here , here, here or here. Actually best for you to just go here otherwise you'll be slaughtered.
