  1. As a synthweaver that has been max level (as sorcerer as well as as crafter) for a while now I'll say that crafting is pretty much useless unless you're a purely, so called, "social player" anybody who does their dailies on Illum/Belsavis, runs flashpoints regularly and does operations will get better gear faster and cheaper than you could get by crafting. The reverse engineering mechanic is just 100% broken, after reverse engineering well over 100 blue belts and STILL not getting the schematic I want I just gave up on it. I've also experimented with my (low level) armormech and the RE proc chance is definitely lower than when I started leveling my main. Lately I haven't even been getting any crit crafts on a semi-regular basis anymore and non-augmented blues are unsellable (at least, if you want to make something resembling a profit). Whatever they're doing to crafting it seems each patch somehow makes the crafting proc chances worse. Note that aside from crafting the Rakata belt/bracers I haven't crafted anything for my crafter herself at max level, only for my companions, guildmates and/or alts (and their companions).
  2. Torhead and Darthhater aren't exactly up-to-date, a lot of the info is still from way back in beta. I assume that theoretically every item can have an augment slot, however ingame this isn't possible for orange gear (apparently it is for crafted weapons though, but there's bugs there as well) The rest of this set are rewards from quests so I'm assuming this piece was also supposed to be rewarded by a quest.
  3. There's gear similar to this you can acquire (I think the Corellia token vestments look like these, but unsure as I haven't seen these anywhare yet) and craft (though with different colors) I doubt there's patterns for this exact set though, I'm pretty sure I'd have seen them by now if they existed (either on the GTN or on people). Judging from my research into this I'm just going to go with these vestments just not being in the game currently. Either the quest that was supposed to reward these is bugged or the quest that was supposed to reward these got scrapped. Haven't tried making a ticket about it yet, maybe I should do so though I'm not really expecting any useful answer from support anymore... (which is why I didn't make a ticket in the first place)
  4. Well that sucks. This means that if it turns out I don't enjoy healing I'll more than likely have to delete the character and start over...and since most ACs only come into their own in the mid 30s that would be a lot of wasted time Here's to hoping they do away with the dependency on shiv (or that I really love OP healing )
  5. Yup, the sheer lack of variety is killing me as my character's hairstyle clips horribly with the high collars 80% of our gear seems to have...and the rest has cowl...
  6. She was the first companion whose affection I maxed out (female DS Pureblood), the Balsavis Dailies are an easy way to get 400+ affection/day. Also wtb search function because this topic keeps coming up every other day.
  7. Indeed, there's only a very limited amount of times your race is commented on, usually only because you are a very specific race (eg. there's a few Sith that comment on you being a Pureblood) and if you aren't that race the dialogue has just one less line, not exactly a dealbreaker...
  8. I've been looking for this for a while now (you got lucky, you actually got replies to your thread ) From everything I managed to gather so far it seems this robe currently just doesn't exist ingame (I've never seen it on anyone either) unless it is a reward from one of the bonus series on Voss (haven't done them yet), but I highly doubt it. I grabbed the healer one from the commendation vendor instead as that one seemed to fit the set.
  9. Yups, we gave up on this quest way back as well. The problem is the mobs spawn way too fast after eachother. We were kinda low on dps having 2 tanks so we had to call it. When we wiped the alarm reset and we had 6 mobs standing in the doorway... On a semi-related note: Breakthrough on Belsavis is also nigh impossible.
  10. And to note that the bonus bosses (that drop Tionese gear) are usually harder than the rest of the bosses in the instance.
  11. It's not a matter of reasonable, it's a matter of pointless. There's already the gear and the prestige, that was always enough for me. Anyway, I'm not against rewarding people visually for their achievements, but I don't think every raid needs 2-3 titles that become useless in a month (I mean, the game's only been out a month and Soa NMM has been beaten by how many guilds already?) That's because those became unavailable and usually required loads of work, the same happened to Champion of the Naaru and Hand of A'dal. There's few titles that carry as much prestige as those because they could no longer be acquired once their content became trivialized unlike all the others (Champion of the Frozen Wastes, Twilight Vanquisher, Kingslayer, Starcaller,...) that only mean something when you take the date at which they are acquired into account. Anyway, imho ymmv.
  12. I just got a 45000 repair bill before my gear was even broken (most of it due to a buggy boss). The only way for me to stay afloat money wise (since most of the stuff I craft I can't manage to sell at a profit) is to do the dailies which I'm seriously tired of by now and only bring in like 120k or so. So doing anything hard or experimenting is out of the question and the repair bills are in fact slowly driving me out of the game as in a few weeks (with a few more upgrades and even higher repair bills) I won't be able to do anything fun anymore as I won't be able to afford it. And I know I'm not alone in this. The fact that some people manage to roll in credits by playing the economy or are so rich because they cheated when they had the chance doesn't mean jack all for the rest of us.
  13. There's so many bugs with this boss it's not even funny. But yeah the loot should be on his corpse so it's a bug though I haven't seen that particular one myself yet.
  14. Bad solution to the wrong problem. If they'd fix the repair bills so I'm not FORCED to do dailies every day just to stay afloat and if half their goddamn bosses actually WORKED then I wouldn't mind so much to PUG, as it is now I refuse to PUG as a bad group will bankrupt me. (not to mention that the amount of bugs already isn't doing any good for my blood pressure as is)
  15. Dark Side does not imply Sith, people keep on forgetting this. She definitely can be the first, she however never can be the second. In fact, she ends up being neither Jedi, nor Sith (sounds like someone else we know, doesn't it?) even though she clings to the former title. Also she can't be your apprentice from an official point of view partially due to the previous: she is not Sith (and has rather strong anti-Empire opinions) and she's not gone through the trials on Korriban. As far as the Sith Empire is concerned she does not exist. You CAN twist her to the Dark Side and you CAN consider her your apprentice (and even call her that in dialogue on a couple of occasions). So yes, from a practical standpoint she is your first apprentice, from an official standpoint you only have one apprentice: Xalek.
  16. Ehh, I don't have that many titles tbh. They removed a lot of the pointless ones you got for completing the planets in beta and left only the story related ones. So far I have: 2 titles from Black Talon, 3 from my class quest chain, 1 (out of 3 possible iirc) from the space minigame and 2 (out of 3) from my alignment. (might have missed a few, but nothing major) If they'd add a title for each operation it would get out of hand real fast, not to mention that in 6months probably nobody will still be using those titles. The problem is made even worse by having 3 difficulty modes, if you only add titles for Nightmare that'd be unfair to the more casual people that complete Hard Mode while adding titles for both Hard Mode and Nightmare will result in title overload again (not to mention adding titles for normal mode...). I'm not against adding titles to raids but I don't see the point of making up stupid titles just so every raid/difficulty combination can have its title. If they add a title it should imho be one that is desirable for itself, so the title is a goal by itself, not just a way to show of what you've accomplished.
  17. You can always send out one less companion than you have, except for the small window where you only have one. This makes sense as you'd want to have the remaining one come with you on quests.
  18. That's about what I always get, sometimes 2 of either Fabric or Metal missions but having 3 of the same type mission at once has always been rather rare for me (except for the gift ones, there's always loads of those). Sound like the OP's luck just ran out tbh.
  19. I agree with you, one of my first thoughts when I got Ashara (for all intents and purposes a Jedi Sentinel) on my Inquisitor was "yay a use for all them Jedi patterns I keep getting". Well, that didn't exactly work out as I hoped Depends on what you consider "decent", I don't consider this decent. Granted it's not immediately related to the outfit as such but it seriously offends my sense of aesthetics and without the option to change our haircut I'm stuck with having to either look at it or wear a helmet (thankfully we get a decent looking one from a class quest). Not to mention that the colours of most of the orange gear we (Sith) can craft are terrible, they're usually white+grey (and pink I hear, thankfully I'm a Daltonist so I hadn't noticed). What happened to the Sith-ish red+black and purple gear? And the heavy armor seems to look so-so for bot factions, there's some better looking sets at the higher levels usually but haven't found anything yet that I'd say I really like.
  20. I'm not sure I get what you mean here. I solo leveled pure lightning to 50 and haven't had big issues with any of class quests. Uhm, no. I've gotten out of some crazy pulls alive, maybe not as easily as a madness specced sorc and maybe I died more often than a madness specced sorc but it certainly makes sure I'm aware of my environment so I don't have accidents all the time. I'm sorry, lightning plays like a fire mage in the olden days of WoW (pre-Cata basically) with some newer stuff thrown in. Hell, our survivability is pretty awesome compared to said class. It might not be up there with madness, but who cares, I didn't level as frost in WoW either even though that was easier. I leveled as fire, everybody called me nuts but I stuck with it because I like the playstyle. Getting your positioning right to minimize required movement is a skill in itself and pretty fun imho. Now if the fact that we have to be more careful with our mobility means we lose out on loads dps (even when positioning well) then something's wrong and we need a buff, I disagree with one of the previous posters that making our abilities castable on the run would be a solution (it ruined fire mages for me in WoW, no more skill required = boring, but to each their own), increasing the damage on lightning strike (or even better, Thundering Blast) might work though, to make up for the fact that we can't cast it on the move. Anyway, imho, ymmv. I for one am not rerolling an affliction lock just because my fire mage is currently inferior, fotm rerolls tend to backfire in the long run anyway. Maybe I'll change my mind once we start on HM Operations but for now I'm good where I'm at.
  21. His most damaging abilities (the staff thing) isn't interruptible (unless they ninja-fixed that in a patch). Also wouldn't call it "easy" if you had 4 wipes and used 2 healers and a full tank in the end.
  22. I hear a stealth class can grab the quest objective from behind him if they're really careful (see Torhead). As for beating him, I don't see how, closest we managed to get was like 20% or so, and that's when we outleveled him by quite a bit and used three healers (2 companions, and one dps Inquisitor healing a lvl47 Merc). Getting some lvl50 to help is probably your best bet, other than that this guy's on my list of "unbeatable" bosses (unbeatable at the level you're supposed to do them at and with the group you're supposed to use), together with the last boss on Voss (which is unsoloable for most classes while that is exactly what you're supposed to do...) Or just skip this quest. It's not worth the repair bill.
  23. I don't really spend a lot of time spamming Lightning Strike, between all the procs and keeping all my dots up I don't usualy have much time left in my rotation to spam that, which usually means I get a Chain Lightning proc real fast as I'm past the 10sec CD on the instant CL proc and off we go again!
  24. If randomly murdering people marks a state as "like Nazi Germany" then I can name quite a few other nations that fit the bill. The Nazi's focused on a few ethnic groups (Jews, gays, lesbians and some others), if you weren't part of any of those and didn't openly oppose the Nazi you were safe, quite unlike in the Sith Empire. By all accounts the Nazi army was one of the most disciplined when it came to committing typical atrocities associated with war (****, pillaging, etc.) in the sense that it didn't happen (or at least, didn't happen much, compared to your usual army and the repercussion for getting caught were quite dire). This fact is often buried under the atrocities the Nazis committed during their reign. If anything the Sith Empire is more like the late Roman Empire with lots of infighting, cruelty towards their own citizens and anyone not of pure Roman blood (read non-humans/Purebloods in SW context) with I guess the one major difference of having an external focus for their hatred (the Jedi/Republic) which the Romans lacked (they were just decadent). You mean the soldiers that were sent up the beaches in Normandy to most likely die? Or the paratroopers dropped behind enemy lines of which like 50% was shot down before they touched down. While certainly heroic and we (Europeans, and probably the rest of the world as well) do owe those people a lot more than we'll ever truly realize I don't see how it supports the argument that Republic Troopers were more important than the Imperial Trooper? They're both fodder for the higher ups in the end until you climb the ladder high enough to be one of them higher ups. I disagree with your take on history as stated above, but whatever. I'd have liked to see an imperial trooper, but from what I know from the republic trooper story I doubt it would have worked, they had to go way over the top in the Trooper ending (as far as it's been spoiled for me anyway) to make them feel like someone. Even though I think most stories have you "rise to the top" way too fast what they told me about the Trooper's was a real "yeah right" moment. Maybe it works better if you actually play it, but it sorta killed my desire to roll a trooper (thanks again to the idiot that posted that spoiler in the Inquisitor forum without using spoiler tags btw) Necromancy like stuff isn't exactly something Inquisitors shy away from. That said, we don't exactly need a pet class imho. Oh, and there's always the Imperial Guard, we can all agree that General Hesker is one cool mofo and The Guard is definitely well respected even by Sith. If there's such a thing as Imperial elite commandos, the Guard is it.
  25. It seems your server has a messed up economy (Mandalorian Iron is EXPENSIVE here) AND your friend is insanely lucky (or I'm just insanely unlucky, whatever, same difference from my point of view) Seeing as I have epic mods for almost all my slots in my oranges now and we start running operations tonight I don't think there's any point for me to continue wasting cash on this, I'm not crafting to make money, I'm crafting to make useful gear for me and my companions and in that respect the current system fails pretty epicly. YMMV but I'm very sure I'm far from the only one who feels like this.
