  1. You can get those from the Gree event vendor on Ilum. Not only that, the Gree event happens a few times a year as opposed to only once so it can be easier to save the necessary tokens for whatever you want. Not only that, those Gree tokens are guaranteed rewards from missions and not RNG based like the slots.
  2. Can we get a response from the development team as to why there aren't any new prizes from this event? I mean, strongholds weren't even around when last year's nightlife event ended and we can't even get some kind of gangster themed deco this time around?
  3. Not a bug. In fact, one of the worst things Snipers/GS can see in WZ's is another Sniper/GS who actively uses it against them. I know I do when I'm up against one because they automatically loose their only quick escape, plus I get a lot of leaper love from my team.
  4. Let 'em leave. I can't count how many times a match was turned around by replacements. I would much rather have someone in the match who wants to help than someone forced to stay because they're out of cartel coins.
  5. People running through my stronghold even when it's set to private and no keys given out.
  6. The ability to cloak outside of combat while out of cover would be a nice addition. This would help us pick when and where we open up (what a sniper is supposed to do IRL). It would also help with those crucial first few seconds in yolo ranked when Snipers/GS are targeted before they even leave the spawn area. Not only that, since it's out of cover, we won't have the benefit of stealth AND stealth detection, which is a bit of a trade-off... especially when guarding nodes in regs.
  7. Concerning the 2018 minimum for ranked: How does/will the mechanic work? - Do you need 2018 in order to queue and once that happens, we are unable to swap out our gear; kind of like it is now where we're unable to respec once we queue for a WZ?
  8. I'm sorry... call me spoiled, but I can't take anything you post seriously without a .gif embedded
  9. Not quite, but I like where you're headed with this. I agree that the fire and forget aoe's should not stop a cap. On the other hand, snipers also have suppressive fire, which should be allowed. It's nowhere near as easy to stop a cap as it was pre 3.0 when all we had to do was aim and shoot. Snipers/Gunslingers now need to get into cover to activate this, which doesn't sound like much, but it's nowhere near as quick as it was. An argument can also be made that we can't be interrupted if we're entrenched, but anyone who was in a solo ranked match with a sniper/GS can tell you that even if they toggle all their DCD's they're still dead in about 4-5 gcd's when focused. By the way, LOL at the ranked sniper "metrics" mentioned in the pod cast. Team ranked (which is practically non-existent in comparison) I can understand. Solos? Come on, who are they kidding?
  10. Nice, but the Fø-TM droid mount reward would probably be a little more appropriate for ranked.
  11. According to the developers, there isn't a preseason because people are pretty much in full ranked gear by now. The only reason why there was a preseason for season 4 is because it was right after the Exhumed/Dark Reaver sets went live and it gave people an opportunity to gear up without potentially sacrificing their ranking. TL;DR - There will only be a preseason if new PvP gear sets are released.
  12. So other people have to suffer because you don't move mods over via legacy gear? That's nice.
  13. I wouldn't mind this. I PvP only a few times until about 15 anyways and that's only because of the spikes in xp for the introduction to pvp mission, one daily and the first weekly. I don't have a problem with making an impact on my team when I'm in one at lvls 10-14, but using only 2-3 meaningful moves gets boring.... fast. And this isn't even considering the almost complete lack of energy management that forces your basic attacks to dominate your rotation.
  14. *sings* "What rolls down stairs alone or in pairs, and over your neighbor's dog? What's great for a snack, And fits on your back? It's log, log, log It's log, it's log, It's big, it's heavy, it's wood. It's log, it's log, it's better than bad, it's good." Everyone wants a log You're gonna love it, log Come on and get your log Everyone needs a log log log log!"
  15. I've been around since the 8v8 ranked days and what a lot of people who have also been there commenting in this forum are correct... It was really difficult getting teams to queue towards the end. My old server scheduled kickball nights with some success, but then it ran into issues with people complaining when even a 4 man premade jumped in trying out a new comp, let alone a full 8 team, and the kickballers quit. This created some wonderful /popcorn moments in the JC forums, by the way. At any rate, bringing back the 8v8 will probably get more people to queue, but I don't think that's going to last. Also, lets face it, if twice as many people join up, we'd still be in the same position we are now. I do agree with the OP, though. The current state of arena's is not the answer for ranked. Then again, as stated here in the forums, it would take almost as long to get teams to queue for 8's once the pecking order has been established. What they need is to keep the 4 man team ranked formula for the sake of keeping the queue times down, but add some objectives rather than just death matching. Yes, this would involve the developers -gasp- making new arenas/warzones so that this could be implemented, but I can guarantee you that it's a hell of a lot easier to do that than constantly trying to re-balance classes. Seriously, if they thought of this from another angle, it may help in the long run. Re-balance/reconfigure the arenas to play to other classes strengths/weaknesses rather than p!$sing everyone off by constantly re-balancing classes. Not only that, the PvE crew would stop blaming the PvP'ers for all the class balancing issues on their end and the PvP crew gets new places to play. Everybody wins. If that isn't possible and/or plausible and I was forced to pick between 4's and 8's, I'd take 8's. I'd take a 15 minute stalemate over what my sniper has been doing since arenas started.... next to nothing.
  16. The only highlight to a miserable Voidstar run. Class: Sniper Biggest hit: 19,120 http://i.imgur.com/2wCeaOa.jpg
  17. Speaking of, I spent an entire WZ in 192 gear this past Sunday. Didn't even realize it until I went to 'change' back into my PvE set after I zoned out PS: A big <3 to the person on my team that /slapped me in the drop ship instead of just asking me why I was geared wrong. Like I tell my 2 1/2 year old; use your words and you'll have a better chance at getting what you want
  18. Same has happened to me. T7 (+5 crit slicing) has been in a slump the past couple of weeks. To my knowledge, there hasn't been any changes in the slicing drop rates. Unfortunately, we're just RNG victims.
  19. In the recruitment process now. One of the more unique probation periods I must say, but also a pretty fun experience as well. Some ask you questions and disappear, but there are others who take the time to get to know you a little better. Overall it seems to be a nice group of members who are also focused on helping out new recruits.
  20. Not really a specific story, but recently I've been seeing more "healers" in my tacticals who don't heal. I'm assuming they spec as a healer to get a quicker pop but then do nothing but dps except when they're topping their own HP's off while ignoring the rest of the group. At first I was like "Hey, two healers?!? Great, I can just sit there and burn bosses." Yeah, not so much. In fact, I find myself using the med stations just as much as I would with a 4 dps team. Trouble is, they always seem to come in pairs which makes it hell for actual dps because the "healer's" dps is next to useless when compared to a native spec dps. What's worse is despite the fact that they're clearly not pulling aggro due to their low numbers, they're also the ones who refuse to run to the med station to help the sniper being torn to pieces (mostly because they're busy topping off their 10% hp loss). It's to the point where it's almost a guarantee I'll be knocked off the ledge in the Tos/Valk fight because they're both going after me when I'm rolling over to the med station.
  21. For the Gree event, I'm sorry, but this thread is a total waste of time. I can only see your point on this if you were talking about the Rakghoul event because its reputation vendor disappears along with it. So yeah, it could get pretty aggravating not being able to attain X reputation status prior to the event going away. The Gree rep salesmen are on Ilum all the time.
  22. Personally, I can't wait for the lightning spammers to auto-flag themselves in the PvE area because they haphazardly hit someone who does not have a GREEn [two can play at that game ] label and wonder why they just got lit up. As for the PvP section, yeah, it's gonna happen. Just have fun with it and try to think of something clever to say after it does. Who knows, that person/group may leave you alone after that because they realize you're being a good sport about it. Then again, maybe not
