  1. I've had it happen. Its just sort of a benign action so I don't mind it. Also when I play my healer I do it to or lay on Force Armor.
  2. Yeah I recently rolled a Guardian and finally got to do some team tanking. I was seriously dissapointed with how easy it was to lose aggro. I wouldn't have minded so much since my character is only level 20. But not being able to use my taunt to regain the mobs attention was really troublesome. Guard helped some, but I really should be able to fire off taunts faster. I didn't feel all that effective.
  3. RotS is the best of the prequels, but it suffers from soo many of the same problems. The writing probably being the most obvious. I don't blame the actors so much for their poor performances because Lucas was ultimately the one to go "yeah that was a good take." Then there is the blandness of it. Sure there is a lot going on visually, but the whole movie is just one big green screen set which ruins the feel. The originals were shot on location or in huge practical sets which made them look so much better. Then there is the how over the top it is. And its not just that its one ridiculous set of action sequences separated by people walking down a corridor or sitting on a couch. Its that they just don't have the same fun adventure element that the originals had because Lucas went after big and flashy at the expense of any short of logic and reason. I dunno, the original 3 were these fun adventure movies about the really interesting new universe and the prequels, including RotS just doesn't bring back that same experience.
  4. You probably want to skip the 16gigs of RAM and go with like 4 or 8. 16 isn't really necessary and you'll save a few bucks. If you going with a 64bit OS, I would suggest 8. You won't use all of it.
  5. For me, being a Jedi is about compassion, service, and sacrifice. But not necessarily in the manner that the strict adherents to the code believe. I don't think being a Jedi precludes forming relationships and I think it means preserving knowledge so that others in the Republic and even the Empire might find wisdom.
  6. If your going to use the in game story as a reason then it should at least be correct. The Empire and Republic are technically not at war. The Treaty of Coruscant suspended hostilities between the two sides. It even comes up in the Esseles mission where Sateel Shan points out that the attack by the Empire is a violation of the treaty. So the being at war excuse doesn't really hold up. But if you want to argue that they are in a "Cold War" state of relations that is similarly flawed because over the course of the "conflict" relations opened up between the US and Soviet Union. They had diplomatic, intergovernmental, and military contact as well as trade relations and we even accepted immigrants and travelers. The point of this long a stupid rant is that even in a state of "war" as you say there is still contact between the two sides. That shouldn't be a factor for limiting contact between factions in this game. I can see if there are technical limitations. In which case I hope BioWare is working on them. But the state of cross faction communication now seems arbitrary. I hope they work on cleaning this part of the game up.
  7. Because I want some variety in the appearance of my characters. Why does this question even keep coming up? Who cares, because its not like your going to ask "why does someone play a healer" or "why would you roll a DPS toon."
  8. I'd love to see a KOTOR 3 maybe based on Bastila's life So far I've only seen one direct mention but I'm not that far into the game. Would be nice to see what happens to the character between the events in that story and their death.
  9. 1. That might work for a planet like Coruscant which has no natural resources left and isn't self sufficient. But a planet is HUGE. Blockading a single planet would requires massive amounts of resources effectively ending your ability to wage war anywhere else. A blockade is a serious resource drain. 2. Most planets are going to be self sufficent because they are planets with self contained ecosystems that can produce their own food, water, and raw materials. Its possible they might not be living live to as high a standard, but most planets could probably hold out indefinitely. 3. How long do you think it takes to starve out an entire planet? More than likely, by the time a blockade would work, it wouldn't have any strategic value. Also this, bombarding a planet into submission is hardly fool proof unless you kill everyone on it. That's generally not the point of conquest. Historically, trying to force a surrender in this manner backfires and the defenders just dig in deeper. But lets go with our logic for just a second and assume that an orbital bombardment would work. And the planet has now been pacified. How do you think you would verify that with you navy floating in orbit and no troops on the ground to take control of your newly conquered territory?
  10. Lando, because Billy Dee Williams is 10 pounds of awesome in a 5 pound bag. Also he wears a cape and isn't a Sith. That takes balls.
  11. This is an awesome guide! going though it now to help me get a better handle on my assassin who has been a bit of an enigma to me.
  12. Yup. Its taking me away from going to the gym and I keep putting off errends I need to take care of like taking my care to the dealer or going to the DMV. I'm not blaming the game, its all me not being as responsible as I should but its totally because playing this game is so freaking fun.
  13. Yes, it is but the Sith philosophy is very much social darwinsim. A Sith is either strong and adaptable (not necessarily physically) or the end up dead. There are also rules though at the Academy at least. Cadets can't out right kill each other. The trails though are intentionally designed though to be potentially lethal. If a cadet dies in the process, well they weren't really Sith. And the instructors that are simply dead set on murdering you are themselves cut down because that's not a judicious or effective use of resources. But your point is taken and its reflected in the game. A couple of the NPCs you interact with note that the Sith have been forced to allow aliens/slaves into the Academy on Korriban because they need to increase their numbers and their previous practices were too restrictive.
  14. I imagine its more like a slug or a snail rather than a snake.
  15. I've noticed a lot of this myself. I don't begrudge anyone their personal preferences so I don't want to give the wrong impression. Ultimately though I think its easier to go dark and brooding. I think people just understand those emotions better so they fall back on them. I'm not saying that's good or bad, just a theory. Personally I know actually have to make a concerted effort not to make a character that's angry and dark.
  16. I've taken this approach to one of my Sith characters as well. To be successful in the Empire it's pretty obvious that the social darwinism aspect of their culture is in full effect. So the way I look at it is for success, a Sith has to be willing to be ruthless against his fellow Sith. But I don't think that precludes benevolent acts as they can be leveraged in the future. The tact I've taken with my Warrior is that he has no compunctions about scheming against or even murdering his peers/rivals because they are competing for the same resources (in my mind prestige and influence). But ultimately he doesn't revel in it they way I think Sith are often portrayed.
  17. Its really hard to shoot at someone while being shot at yourself. They have done studies on real soldiers and found that most don't really want to kill anyone and intentionally fire in the direct of an enemy and not at them hoping someone else will succeed. I don't think the stormtroopers are any more inaccurate than anyone else firing a weapon while being shot at themselves. The difference is in the stormtroopers case that you see all of the shots the fire so all of their misses are obvious.
  18. Umm, it sounds like you've already done the advanced class quest. Sentinel is the advanced class for the Jedi Knight and you receive the second lightsaber as a reward for visiting the advanced class trainer. If your issues is you are having trouble buying new skills, you do that at the regular Jedi Knight trainer which at the fleet is to the left of the advanced class trainer. The skill trainer and advanced class trainer are different and once you've picked you advanced class you can't talk to that guy anymore. But you can visit you skill trainer any time and when new skills are available there is a little green star under the triangle over the trainers head.
  19. Go with the 64 bit OS, thats the only way you're computer will get any use out of more than 4gb of RAM.
  20. It looks like you'll have a really powerful machine. If you're looking to save a few bucks I'd recommend down grading to an i5-2500K processor and different motherboard. you'll still get great performance and you an overclock. Sorry I know thats not really what your asking. To your question though, yeah about the only thing you should seriously consider is downgrading your RAM to 8gb instead of 16. I'd recommend 2 4gb sticks. That'll give you a little extra memory but you still will not likely use it all.
  21. I'm 30 and I would say I probably average about 3 hours in the evening but quite a bit more on the weekend.
  22. This. The relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan and their personalities are excellent. Its much closer to how I believed they should have been in the movies. The stories are also really well done. I appreciate that they don't pull any punches and its still a pretty mature show. As the show has progressed it has only gotten better. The only thing I take real exception to is the episode where they meet the embodiment of the force (I can't remember the name of the episode). Perhaps my favorite thing about the show though is the clone troopers. Its great to see a big part of the show go to non-force users. They get some great story lines. The show is a great example of what Star Wars could be without Lucas micromanaging everything. My understanding is he has the final say on a lot of it, but when the writing and story creation is left mainly in the hands of talented writers its possible to get something really cool.
  23. I had something like that happen to me the other night. Up until about a week ago I haven't really had any issues with grouping but the last week or two have been really hit or miss. Like someone else said though, I also like to say hi, or give a status update if am delayed or on my way to a mission. Usually if you get a response that's a pretty good sign. Though not always. Thats just what you have to deal with when you team with strangers. Sometimes you get a cool group and other times you get a group of d-bags.
