Tor failed because it was crap. Blaming the players for not paying hundreds of dollars just to get the game hey want? Easily the worst excuse I have heard.

and you just listed one of the major reasons this game is flopping so hard. there is no reason to explore. everyone cried that the space combat was on rails, little did we know the entire game was on rails.

exactly. it wasn't that swtor fell a little short of what was required outside of content, as far as things the community was screaming for, they failed at nearly everything. after 4 months, they finally added 2 things the community had asked for, but backed out of others (including dps meter) without so much as a reason or explanation.

what a load of rubbish. Why cant a game have lfg / dps meters / decent ui / good looking gear / good lvling content / good endgame? are you truly so blinded by the big mmo companies that you think its asking too much of a company that spent half a billion dollars on a game to include the features its paying customers want?

sorry to tell you this, but thats exactly what players are doing. they are leaving because swtor does not have what they want....the community has been telling everyone who utters a single complaint to leave and not let the door hit them on the way out. well....look around.... everyone listened....and ppl are leaving. my guess, you are getting exactly what you asked for.

the "just wait it will get better" argument is the problem. ppl deserve the game to be good now. not after paying 500 bucks worth of purchase + subs. thats not how it works. they DO have to compete with mmos with years worth of content. that is an absolute fact. how they do it, now thats the tricky part. one new mmo is introducing down scaling, to encourage players to continue to go back and do low lvl content even when they are max lvl, and their stats are simply reduced to match the content, meaning it will stay challenging. that's one idea, but im sure there are more. but the fact remains, a new mmo is absolutely in competition with mmos with years of content. there is no argument against that. its just fact.

i thought as much. saying that wow DESTROYED other GENRES because it was good and alot of ppl played it. move along ppl, nothing worth reading from that guy here. just move along. saying that other games sales are effected by the success of wow is one of the most backwards comments i have seen here in a while. These other games didn't fail because wow is good, they failed because they are NOT GOOD.

nice post. and very true. its a case of "if you are not with us, you are against us!" sadly, it will be sooner rather than later that those people turn around and realize not many ppl are with them anymore, because they alienated so many of the games supporters, simply for pointing out the obvious fact that the game is in serious trouble and ppl are leaving in packs of 10s of thousands.... adding up into the hundreds of thousands if not 1million already.

care to name these MANY other genres that wow damaged or destroyed? or was that just a wild exaggeration used to aid your argument?

you saying "swtor is better than Eq-Warhammer-WoW" does not actually MAKE it better. it means you are currently enjoying it more, but yeah.....thats a really stupid thing to say.

you always could, with flight points / hearths / mages. however, i do agree, and SW took that even further by having disjointed quest hubs that do not really tie into each other very well other than "bob over at zone 4 recons he needs some help...you should go over there". dont get me wrong i am glad they have the breadcrumb quests but yeah. one of the things that annoyed me was the complete lack of exploration. theres really no reason to ever stray from the main path. although the datacrons are a nice addition i personally feel that the game engine is not at all suited to jumping challenge type activities. i dont think its a deal breaker or anything, just saying. i found the entire world to be very flat and boring as well. VERY flat. there are some unique moments when you find yourself up high but not even close to enough variation in terrain. for me it made the world feel very stale, clinical and lifeless. visually i enjoyed hoth once i got to the starship GY, and that one moment where you get WAY up high in...aldaraan i think? on the collapsed bridge area, that was cool, but thats too examples in 7 months of playing both factions.

Of course EC is part of the story.....As is LI....and you proved exactly what i said was true. even clearing all of T1 is still not enough for alot of players to clear T2.....they need to continue to clear T1, even up the difficulty of T1 to get gera with better stats so they can enter T2. but no one has been able to say WHY that is needed, other than to extend the time it takes to "complete" endgame content.

very tired and didnt read but planescape torment and icewind dale seem to ring a bell for me as games i enjoyed in my younger years.

haha, i got sent 3 days free playtime for rift. i logged back in and there was one person online. on the entire server. 1 person. ouch....also made me wonder what that 1 person was doing.....so i asked. and was told i was a noob and to F-off.

Logic fail. If ppl quit, it does not affect them if new content is added or not. BW/ea/you cannot expect ppl to continue to sub to a game they are not enjoying or even playing with the hope that one day it might get better.

Don't ever use fish face. My understanding is he is actually plotting to kill you according to my guild mates. Apparently him being your companion is just a trap.
