  1. You know how much content they could make if they cut QA? Dialogue? Cutscenes? Way more. But they never will because it will compromise the quality and/or feel of the game. "More quick content" can't be an excuse here, because, yes, VO comprises a large part of the feel and experience of the game. It's so much a part that it is a legitimate reason that people play this game and was one of the main marketing points when this game was initially launched. And what's worse is that this IS the alliance content. The personal, intimate content. Here's a quote from the blog: "Alliance stories will generally be more intimate and character driven, designed to complement and counterbalance the more ‘epic’ storyline of the Chapter stories. They’ll be very much about getting to know awesome characters, and controlling how your interactions unfold." The intimacy is where voice acting is at it's most important. It's where ACTING is most important, and that's the very place it was cut. No less, in a game where all the content save for this new intimate content IS voice acted, suggesting an expectation for VO to be present throughout the game. Do you think any new player would get to this part of the game, having played the initial content or not, and not IMMEDIATELY be confused? In this very thread people are reporting that they thought it was a bug. And I'd like people to remember that they did 'rehire' our initial 16 VAs for all the main content anyway (they actually have them hired for future content when they signed up for the game), so the Alliance content would only take extra time, rather than having to get the actors make themselves available for a new date. Lastly, the recent VA strike agreement was far too recent to affect anything in this expansion unless they wrote this content only in the past month. Voice acting is part of this game, in a sense, it IS this game's feel and tone. To limit it is short-sighted and silly. Never compromise the tone and feel of content for more of it.
  2. I'm wondering about cartel certs, are they going away, are they somehow in the two pack system, and if they are leaving, what happens to items that cost them? Also, cost in general had better be lower than the current packs, especially how they've been creeping up in price lately. Also... do titles have a home in the new system?
  3. I'm with you in that respect, but limiting male characters also limits LI potential. At the very least I hope that we'll get one m/m LI, but I'd rather a choice. One male makes that impossible. Also, the 'one lone gay' in the galaxy seems real so far. Cytharat disappears, in steps Theron. Ditto Lana and Lemda. I'm just a wee bit selfish . Also, why is it that female villians are so rare in this game? I can't even name a living Darth (save mine, Occlus) who's female.
  4. I would bet that they'd be unromanceable unless you've already romanced them (like Tali'Zorah and Garrus from ME3), I'm not going to hold hope for a gay Mando wedding, that only exists in the abandoned Legends canon (DAMN YOU TORIAN!) All will love him and despair. Seriously though, I just want my Knight to be his knight, you know? WHY MUST THEY TAKE HIM FROM ME!?!?! (I'm seriously enjoying the melodrama of this, so, so much).
  5. It really sucks because that will not only make it twice, but there seems to be only one male in the newest set of companions (save Nico Okarr, who's a presub bonus, thus, likely, a total non-romanceable otherwise the complaints will roll in). The old companions, of course, are all straight, and I doubt they'll be retconned to playersexual or bi, so that leaves us with one SGR male in the galaxy... again. There cannot only be one, right? Also, that only makes one male total (barring presub and old companions). Which is just... weird. They kind of shot themselves in the foot though, with the whole 'male Emperor and his male children with their army thing'. Also, are they all human? The few pics we've gotten seem so. He's SO GREAT. The character flaws just make him better. As does that SIS wit. And the romance is just so perfect. Good Lord, I think I'm going to cry. HE'S JUST TOO PERFECT, THAT'S WHY THEY'LL KILL HIM! NOOOOO! Ahem... *cough*. Sorry.
  6. Man if they made us choose between Lana and Theron, Mass Effect Kaidan and Ashley style, I'd be over the f***ing moon. Lana would still die, every.single.time (poor Ashley), but it was done fantastically well in ME, so seeing it here might turn out to be just as well done.
  7. The idea that Theron is a coward and Lana is so amazing is kind of funny considering <- spoilers for Ziost. I've always found Lana to be more contrived than Theron, and considering he's the only SGR male LI available to both factions at this point, to have him pull a Cytharat (kill him or let him live followed by promptful vanishing) would not onlybe a slap in the face to every gay male character and player... again... but also be bad for such a character, a non Force-sensitive son of a Jedi Grandmaster. That relationship between mother and son is so fraught with tension I could eat it up with a spoon. If he's not a companion, he better play a large role is all I'm saying. Lana on the other hand is just so strangely Mary-Sue to me it's just become a bother. I haven't been able to really invest in her (though I'll admit she has the better romance). Also Theron's mixed Asian and Lana's white, go diversity! (I also just want to note that Satele went through a major redesign after the first Blur trailer and yet she was never ever imagined as white (she was first brown), one of the few pieces of diversity that was impressive in this game).
  8. For what it was, I enjoyed it. The nugget of story was small, but the beats it did have were very good. I do feel they shot themselves with holding back the ending though, it lost it's power because of that lack of immediacy. I ended up having five level sixties waiting at that terminal, so I ended up skipping the big cutscene a couple times. It doubled down on repetitiveness. Forged Alliances had a wait for its end, but there was suspense which wasn't added here. The story was written with a sense of, "hurry, hurry", and when it didn't right at the end, it lost that energy. The daily area though, that was perhaps the biggest strongpoint of the area. There was no mobs, a nice change, not all of us are in for fighting non-stop (there are enough other daily planets for that: see Oricon and Yavin IV). Instead the dailies were like mini-quests. Build this temple out of holograms, enter a very swoop-like race against time from rift to rift. The entire area screamed mass disaster, as if a nuke went off, and had a brilliant atmosphere because of it. It might be the most poignant area in the whole game. Truth be told I don't get why people think dailies should be nothing but a bunch of mobs with a boss at the end. Some of that is fine, but ALL THE TIME? I actually want to repeat these daily quests FOR FUN. I've never felt that way before about a dailies series. EDIT: I have heard of Ziost before, both in and out of game. It was in one of the TOR books, as well as being mentioned quite recently in the Ben Skywalker storyline (recently in terms of book writing time).
  9. Not holding a blaster properly is pretty bad. I hope for a fix too.
  10. I like the Sniper's coat! It's cool, long, and dyes all one colour. It's also agenty without being ALL HAIL THE SITH-y. It's really double duty.
  11. I oppose because neither these countries, nor these flags exist in SW canon. In fact, 'countries' don't really even exist. Planets have unified governments. And they don't seem to have flags as we understand them, more like standards and symbols. So no. A real-world country is not like a beverage or an object, you can't just transfer it over into a highly-fictional setting and say it's OK. It really ruins immersion.
  12. Swords are good. Perhaps with glowing 'runes' that correspond to the Colour Crystal colour.
  13. Bout kriffing time someone brought this up again. BASILISK WAR DROIDS. BIOWARE. BEAUTIFUL. /Support. That is all.
  14. Cathar don't have tails, real Cathar are what you already see. Just because they are catlike doesn't mean they are walking cats. And as for SWTOR Cathar, they're probably the farthest race away from human we have. They have fur that covers all of their skin, entirely new face shapes, entirely different ears and a whole different eye texture both normally and when affected by the dark side. They even have body markings. Even the Twi'lek and Sith races have more in common with humans visually than Cathar. Or maybe this is about the fact that they have two arms, two legs and speak Basic? Well, all playable races, from now into the future, will have those requirements too, and not a surprise as the majority of races in Star Wars canon follow that list. Also, you've duplicated this thread in both the Suggestion box and the Cartel Market Suggestion sections...
  15. More Miraluka masks? I'm down! Can we finally have a "bandage" style? Finally?
  16. I agree with a lot of people that if whole body tattoos are coming to SWTOR, then Zabrak should head up the list, followed by Mirialan (whose tattoos often extend to their hands and wrists) and then Twi'lek. And I like the body hair idea but I'd want it extended to Miraluka too (along with more masks!). As for Twi'lek.... I'm okay with more headbands (my Twi'lek doesn't wear em, but hey, why not), but what I'd really want to see is tattoos separated from makeup and scar options that extend to the lekku, maybe even amputations (but only small bits). Armoured lekku sound cool too.
  17. Cathar don't have tails as far as I've seen. 18. Are for there to be beds. My crew doesn't sleep on the floor, what do I look like, a Sith? Also, the fact that the holoterminal and Intercom on playerships are always purple, even when there is no mission available is annoying as heck. It should only glow purple when your mouse hovers over it. (This also goes to the turrets and GTNs in player strongholds). By all means, leave a mission sign triangle thingy, but please get rid of the purple glow if I'm not mousing over the item.
  19. My favourite idea by far has to be an Alderaan Mountain villa, a 'house' like stronghold where a third is actually built into a mountain side, and the front has a facade similar to Alderaanian palaces, but split up to show huge windows. Starship landing pad in the front with doors to allow one inside, being the only open area. Snow effects galore, orowood and marble flooring with gold accents and pillars. The ultimate in luxury without being Nar Shadaa tacky. Another personal favourite is the "Fleet Stronghold", a small, personal, ship. Much larger than the starfighter, but smaller than the guild ship. Has a docking port, a bridge, a war room area with no windows, and a captain's quarters with full on moon roof. It, unlike the guild ship, cannot move, or take part of conquests. (Maybe we can name it properly though?). Submerged Manaan Stronghold. Fully underwater, with all exterior walls being windows. ALL OF THEM. No starship hook, but many centerpieces to even it out.
  20. Exactly, if I can't have all my companions as full flesh and blood unless I'm on the right character, THAT'S OK, just get rid of them when I'm an alt, and bring them back when I'm on the right character. I want my companions to be a part of my stronghold, but I don't want holos. Gimme an in between option.
  21. Signed for no other reason than it will be fun to see the odd man in pigtails. Also, male characters should get the same amount of content as females, and female characters the same amount as males. More dancer clothing and female-specific hairstyles (and no male-specific ANYTHING) is the wrong way to go.
  22. So this is why my damage output is the suckiest of all suck! So yeah, bump.
  23. So they fixed it but had to add random leggings? Well.... the clipping was terrible so... fine. But to be fair I want the leggings gone too, and I want 'em gone for both men and women. We already have the handmaiden skirt and the attendant skirt and now even Lana's skirt for leggings, let us all show some leg.* *without clipping, if that is impossible, I would vote for consistency at the very least.
  24. It's not only the VA, but the cinematics around it that makes one companion easier overall. It doesn't matter of course, it's quite clear BioWare have no interest in advancing SGR in SW:tOR past 'Makeb-like' things. That being said, Jakarro isn't so bad. At least anybody other than a smuggler can have a Wookiee now.
