  1. It wouldn't be such a big deal if the cost of switching mods would be reduced or removed, I don't understand why do I have to keep paying for gear since you already pay for it the first time you obtain it (either for killing a though boss, completing a quest or just paying on the GTN), I don't have to pay rent on the gear I get so why is it needed to pay every time I want to switch those mods I work hard to obtain to another set of gear? If it's just a money sink, then it's a brutal mechanic that punishes players that like to switch looks regularly and those that like to give their companions character appropriate looks with their own oranges rather than whatever garbage I picked up, since this is a purely cosmetic mechanic and does not affects gameplay it puzzles me why it's like this. In my opinion if you make a feature meant to add life to the game by allowing people to customize their characters and then decide to actively discourage it's use by implementing prohibiting expenses to it, you are doing it wrong. As for the appearance system itself, I admit the LOTRO system is perfect and elegant and it would be boon to the game if something similar where implemented, that being said I like the orange gear system present in TOR, if it would be worked on it has potential, the first step though is reduce the cost so it is less of a punishment to the player to use it.
  2. Here is my agent in his "Combat Infiltrator" gear (the screenshot has a tiny spoiler of Temple's side story) http://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg484/Andronic0s/Screenshot_2012-05-07_20_07_14_125000.jpg I also use the Hooligan's jacket when in Dromund Kaas, and another outfit for when going undercover and finally one for cold weather operations , I waste a bunch of money on switching those mods around but it's so worth it
  3. But those bonuses apply always or only when a companion is being used like the Heroic moment skill? looks like im going to have to start gifts to Broonmark if this is so
  4. Great list! I was wondering where I could get a purple crystal for Jaesa, thanks a lot for it
  5. There is nothing odd about it, this sort of thing happens all the time, sure if the Agent and Jadus would have fought 10 times Jadus would have won 9, it just so happened that the one time it counted it was the agent that won, ever heard of an upset? Gameplay mechanics are gameplay mechanics, Jadus doesn't sit around thinking he's safe because he has 30k health and can dish out a 2k Damage attack, a blaster bolt to the face will still kill him, even if due to gameplay limitations he can take a lot of blaster fire during said gameplay.
  6. Broonmark's bonus only applies if broonmark is out with you, why would you ever use broonmark? tank companions are the worst in the game and 1% of accuracy hardly seems worth sacrificing the DPS of Vette/Jaesa or the healing of Quinn
  7. I agree with this, Jedi are akin to space Shaolin Monks, if you think it would be odd to find Shaolins on bars flirting with waitresses so it would be for the average Jedi, that said the code does not forbids stuff like that as long as you don't become attached to the waitress, so you could always play a Jedi who sort of walks the line. As for the Consular voice, I just started playing a Sage (only lvl 20) but so far I am finding the male voice AMAZING it makes me feel like Qui-Gon, always calmed and composed, people freak out around me but I keep it cool because I trust in the force, love it!
  8. Although I don't like Nar Shadda because it feels like just a reskin of Coruscant, I do like that it is a different part of Nar Shadda, the nice rich part rather than the slums they always show in the other games where it appears.
  9. I have played Knight and Warrior to completion and Smuggler and Agent until chapter 3, I would rank them like this: 1- Imperial Agent - The story really pulls you in and makes you want to know what is next, it is by itself a good spy tale, the SW setting is just a bonus 2- Sith Warrior - I found it interesting from beginning to end, some really though decisions if you don't stick to alignment and like to choose based on the situation. 3- Scoundrel - Although the story is nothing great the characters in it are great, probably the most interesting NPCs I found in the game, while other stories made me want to know what happened next, the scoundrel story make me want to see who will I meet next 4- Jedi Knight - The JK story is not bad is just average, and it has a lot of action if you like that, but it suffers from sticking to the book too much, it doesn't has interesting NPCs save maybe one or two and everything always happens as you would expect.
  10. My favs: "You are one messed up individual" - Smuggler "Why are you whining to me about it?" - Smuggler "This is a trifling matter, but I will do it" - Sith Warrior (how I feel about half the side quests ) "I'll handle it" - Agent The ones I hate most: "A Jedi lives to serve" - Jedi Knight "It will be a bloodbath" - Sith Warrior
  11. That's one of my favourite cutscenes in the game! As for the team, my mission was to terminate Arden so that's the only one I killed, wisely the twi'lek and the droid got out of my way so they got to live, not that I would give it a second thought if they would have tried anything, I only have one rule when playing my Agent and that is "Can't jeopardize the mission", though that only applies to Intelligence operations (both story and side quests)
  12. I only beat him because I was able to imprison him on the bridge, had I not done that he would have won, the whole fight was a delaying action to buy time to get the bridge prison going That said Jango Fett killed a Jedi Council member in 4 shots, so it can be done, remember Jadus is said to be among the most powerful not among the most skilled in Lightsaber combat
  13. I also play my Scoundrel and Operative as neutral characters and as stated above the best relics in the game are neutral, they just require you to be 50 to get them, and while levelling, relics don't make much difference, so I don't really see a problem here (could be better? yes but this should not discourage anyone since at the end you will be on equal terms)
  14. At first I always thought that call Baras makes was just BS meant to confuse you so I dismissed it, but looking back I wonder if the emperor's voice is trapped on Voss and it is implied he has been "out of contact" for some time then Jedi Knight Spoilers That makes me think there might be some truth to Baras claim, I am certainly intrigued to see what will happen next on the SW story when they add more story content
  15. From the ones I have played 1- Juggernaut/Guardian 2- Scoundrel/Operative 3- Sage/Sorcerer 4- Vanguard/Powertech 5- Shadow/Assasin I like the Juggernaut gameplay so much that as soon as I finished my Guardian I started a Juggernaut and liked it even more
  16. I'm curious when people say craft purple, do they mean Magenta or the actual dark purple colour that for example Revan uses? I have only ever seen magenta crystals on the GTN so far
  17. Actually if you look at the big picture the Jedi are amazingly efficient at keeping the numbers of Dark Jedi to a minimum, there has been hundred of thousands of Jedis throughout 25000 years of galactic history yet only those few mentioned ever became true threats to the galaxy, that's like a 99% success rate of your training regime, can't really expect the Jedi to do better than this
  18. If I remember right those stingers are pure DPS elites, the best way to fight those (imo) is to use your Dirty Kick early to keep them from DPSing for a while, then once your companion goes below 40% health pop in Flashbang Grenade and use those 8 seconds to heal the companion (undergeared Risha in my case during that quest), by now Dirty Kick would be close to being off CD use it as soon as it is, two dirty kicks normally means you win the damage race against a DPS elite Also Wounding Shot is great against elites because it can apply it's full damage, always keep an eye on wounding shot and renew it when it runs out.
  19. I Just started playing a Consular after playing a Knight to 50 and one of the things I like is the robes, I have seen Halloween Jedi costumes that look better than the "robes" the guardians get, not to mention we only get 1 actual robe model with different colors/textures and that's it Sure the Consular robes are over the top, but at least they have this Kimono-ish feel to them that works well on a Jedi. I do wish Iconic Jedi robes where in the game though, but alas neither the Consular nor the Knight have them
  20. Those have a valor rank requirement, wouldn't that exclude Jaesa from using them since she can't have valor ranks? Yeah I got that oufit for her, but im looking for actual pants now, and that one is a dress, plus the male version which are light armor pants are male only
  21. The old one had better action (and little else), but the new one has better everything else, so I go with the new ones, plus there are some good action scenes in the new one too like the duel between Ventress and Unduli and specially Dooku against the Nightsisters was a really good fight too.
  22. Anyone knows of a set of Orange light armor pants for Jaesa? all of the very few I have seen on the GTN have Sith Sorcerer restriction
  23. Might as well add my Smuggler now that I found an outfit I like http://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg484/Andronic0s/Screenshot_2012-05-01_01_44_53_359375.jpg Enjoying the sight on Alderaan
  24. I chose it because is the only Jedi/Sith class that gets to use a single Lightsaber in melee combat, but I stayed for the awesome gameplay
  25. 9 - Second only to the IA I would say, it certainly blows the Jedi Knight out of the water, sure the JK gets to do more epic stuff but the SW story actually involved me in a way the genericness of the save-the-planet-of-the-week JK story never did
