  1. Fully equip yourself in Recruit gear, then go for Battlemaster.
  2. There's not as much skill envolved in tankashadows/assasins as a load of defensive abilities which you have to pick like and onion... with crying. When it takes three ranged DPSers to actually shut down one "light" armored tank, something is wrong. But, at least they don't have that same DPS and mobility mars/sents have. So it's still OP, but in a more boring, repetitive kind of way.

I would take a healer and DD instead of two DD every day, but I would take two DD instead of two healers, and when it comes for a battle of DD+DD against DD+Heal, it's now a battle of skill, you won't get a win just because your group is more "balanced".

I soloed a not so weak marauder today with my balance Sage. I promised one of my sage clanmates that I would kite a marauder from middle turret in Civil War to right turret all way long, and my god, I actually did - people who play "knights" are incredibly persistent when it comes for running at a "sage" bait. Probably not a "perfect" and clean kill, as we both were a bit wounded and did't open with full rotations, but it was closest to "assasin" which I got. Rooting from Sever Force and just right sequence of stuns seemed like the key. Of course, I ended up with less then 10% health, but still, was thrilling and fun. I don't believe there is a high chance to kill mar/sent in his "clean" opening, cause I would probably just fall down after jump on + few deadly throws, lol.

Basically yes, there are classes which are good at instant damage, and classes which are better at ticking damage. You don't need 6-7K crits to get into top of DPSers.

    Mar/Sents

It's double deal, really. They probably are strong, but now every mar/sent me and my fellow Sages see get ganked in a matter of seconds. Today we had two Balance sages and some healers or telekenetics hybrids, and other side had some decent "knights". It did't really help, whenever mar/sent showed up, he was rooted with Sever Force and then turned into a mountain of pebbles four-five seconds afterwards. Before patch, being a healer meant you had constant mark on your head, and a big "KILL ME PLEASE" sign on your back. Now knights seem to enjoy the same.
  7. - Go into heavy Control spec. Examples: Healing hybrid: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600hGrRMd0zZfobrzRbZ0M.1 DPS hybrid: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600ZbsMrdRroZcMdRsMz.1 - Pick targets at the sides of combat zone, never run into the fray like sentinels do. - Kite. Always move. When losing health, hide behind some obstacle. - When focused, retreat as far as possible, even if it means leaving combat zone. If dudes follow you, all the better - your teammates would probably have easier time planting bomb/capping turret. - Make rakata fortitude stim. - Use +72 or better relics instead of warzone ones. - Ask for Guard... ...ecetera.
  8. I had to respec today for HM Vault \cause we had enough healers and our new players were a bit underequipped. I respeced to this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600hZf00MZcMfRsMkrfz.1 and played EV and then did Warzones. We did't have any trouble with DPS, I never ran out of health nor force (walked away with 100% health and force after my duel of fates, and I still wore my Force Mystic). On WZs, I had sick amount of fun ganking sentinels/marauders and bathed in medals. IMO, Full Balance is pretty handy build to live in. Instant Lift and Sever Force are fine subtitution to Wake and Collapse in PvP, and DPS is good for PvE. So for PvErs it works well as you don't need o respec if you want to go for WZ one evening.
  9. Pretty much, that's a PvP build. You can heal dailies allright, and probably hardmode flashpoints which do not require Salvation, but for any OPS where you need Salvation you should respec.
  10. I prefer this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600hGrRMd0zZfobrzRbZ0M.1 It gives much better assist and you can instajib people on low health when Tidal Force ticks. Will of the Jedi raises overall efficiency by 6%, and Egress is pretty pointless because it does't stack with Sprint. Force Managment is not an issue, I either go Meditate (or Noblesac + warzone heal) or die. Assist is good, CC is great. Healing is enough to go over 200K when it is needed: trying to cap the healers top is actually pretty lame idea, because taking objectives is often more about killing or CCing "that one interrupting dude", and healing low health, low armor or low expertise is not cost efficient... people who try to heal every chunk whenever possible often miss objective winning possibilites, just like those who try to kill everything what they run into. Survivability is pretty decent too. Anyway, I advice every sage who wants to heal on WZs try Healing Trance + Wake + Collapse, wherever you would put other points (I stronly suggest Tidal Force though, but everyone has it's own style).
  11. Force Wake, Kinetic Collapse are at your service for those two marauders. Else goes into Seer tree or other stuff at your choice.
  12. I played this build today for more of a dozen warzones for my first time: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600hGMRMdMzZfobrzRbZ0M.1 I'm geared in BM. My impressions are: - Overall healing is weaker for 100-150K than standard healer. Salvation still rocks in Voidstar and Turrets somewhat, so that's to be expected. - Assist is satisfactory, Disturbance with instant Telecenetic Wave makes for some decent DPS. - Control is exellent, particularly against close combat characters. You can kite two marauders and create prolongued fights with tanks. That's something. Also, stealther getting out of stealth and instantly stunning himself with Collapse is just trololo hilarious. - Survivability is above average, closer to something I experienced before patch. - I did't have much trouble with keeping my Force up. - I really miss Confound and Egress is almost not noticable. Probably would change it for Suffusion. My main "heal" was Force Armor. I topped people with Rejuvenate, Benevolence and Trance. When Kinetic Collapse worked, it was a desired gap in a fight, when I used relics and 60% crit buff to bring out Deliverance for average 5K heal. I did't hit 300K heal, ended up with 290, but I could. Just had better things to do (control).
  13. It is paying with your own capabilities for your team mistake of not protecting their supporting character. If in a hybrid like that, healing becomes kinda icing on a cake, maybe a full-controller Sage would end up better for warzones? Whatever their motives are when it comes in developing their games in years past, they are sure covered by either grand mystery or come out from complete lack of competence. Anyway, a question: for Effusion to work, you must spam damaging abilities, right? So what's the rotation, you use TT and Disturbance before healing, or just mix and match em with heals waiting for the right moment? What would I want to spend my Effusion on? P.S. Interesting post Nikkons, makes me want to try Healer/Controller more.
  14. I'm not really interested in winning against anyone, Dayin, I want a character who supports teams effort in winning objective the best by healing and buffs. I'm not a big fan of hybrids either, searching a valid option for myself only because developers forced me to.
  15. Collapse only works when placed on yourself, not your teammate, is that right?
  16. I think, the point is: it's better to have mediocre damaging ability that regenerates force (Disturbance), than to cast mediocre damagin ability that does't (Project).
  17. It's an interesting build Kickinhead, though I feel it complements your survivability too much by sacrificing your support abilities which could benefit your team. Seems like something a tired of constantly jumpen on and being uncared by it's team sage would run with.
  18. Here's what I wish to try: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600hGrRMdrdhzZfobM.1 It's all about bubbles and making your team move faster than enemy team. I play in Premades often. IMO, we have to teach people get that bonus from our AoE heal and stay in it when it's safe of AoE of DPSers, otherwise we loose big chunk of healing potential.
  19. I'm a sage and came to the same idea. However, are you sure that bonus control is worth it to sacrifice your AoE heal?
  20. So, how many people did you reason with, and how many did you slaughter in this game, and KoTOR? Also, that kind of attitude is extremely naive. Jedi are the order of knighty monks. Or monk-like knights. They always were, are, and probably will be. To expect anything but ascetic, sturdy set of robes which complement their fast, acrobatic fencing and dramatic duels is wrong.

  22. Nice to hear. But as above, I can't see any notes either.
