  1. It's not a bad ability, even more fun when there are two sorcs doing it every 4.5 seconds, but against strong melee team you'd be better with Bindings/Bubble Blind.
  2. I like the idea of applying Affiction to everything by anything. I think it's an interesting gimmick which would't break balance of the game but surely would save some GCD's and Force. However, I don't believe multiDOTer would have a lot of job in this game. TOR requers single-target DPS in PvE and PvP, AoE's are used for trash and somewhat in PvP, usually for interrupting caps. And there are much better AoE characters than sage, your basic Commando without any specs can put 4 AoEs no problem, and they don't need any ticking or skills to wreak carnage.
  3. Unless you go further into Lightning, imo it's not worth it. I remember picking it once in a hybrid and still dropped it afterwards. Your DPS range is the range of your Lightning, and that would be 30 m.
  4. I don't mind. * * * Oh I finally got favorite toys today at level 22: Madness, Death Field and Force Slow. Had so much fun. Not sure if I am going to run around at 20/21 on Tomb, maybe 14/27 would be better for overall damage and I'll leave survivablity to kiting. Not sure how that would affect my force regen though. Damn so many powertechs running around.
  5. I suggest joining at level 17-18, you will get enough time to farm you commendations for a level 20 stuff and you already would have some of your key class abilities. I joined with my alt on 16 - that's when you get Force Speed as a sorc. Have respect for other people's time mates, finish Coruscant/Dromund Kaas at least and you will be much more useful; 23 is even better that's enough to grab one-two of your tier 3 skills.
  6. Those were some pretty bad sorcs. If a sorc, after seeing mara, does't put a pile of taped coins on strafing button... well he deserves what he will get.
  7. I think Fezikk was lightning-noob-spammed a lot in his PvP childhood. Or maybe he is allergic to purple color and wants it to vanish from all the world. "I am a sage/sorc and doing ok!" - "No no read this and that and go there your life is just an illusion" ect.
  8. Played from level 16 to 18 on Tomb today through warzones. Aside from quite the number of powertechs (sometimes 3 in my team) it's the same warzones as probably anywhere else. Lot of newbies, lot of frag-lovers, already got a picnic on Civil War with 40+ because "our team was too low level to win" (600-540 and 3 people give up). They call their left snow, and right grass, you imagine that? Because noone is quite sure where left or right is Already got a top place on Huttball scoring 4 times of 6. Even got some MVP's Right, that's a sorc thread. Well guys, your Shock is just amazing. It's instant, it's untraceable because it looks just like any other lightning attack, it cooks people. IMO, your knockback is better than sages too. It just has a bit more flashy and rapid animation, not like ours clunky jump-on-one-place, and seems to work better for me. Also, lightning sometimes seems too pass columns O_o never noticed my TT doing that. I did from 80 to 190K of damage today, which usually put me in top 3. I am eager to see Tatooine where teams of stunlocking vanishing marauders will kill me and to get my Force Slow. I feel naked without it.
  9. People are too herpaderp about everything. I backpedal (as a ranged DPS) when: 1) Our attacking or defensive line is fine, melee's and tanks hold enemy melee at bay, and I need just a few steps to reposition myself a bit better cause it's safe to do so. 2) I slow jumper (for example, with Force Slow), and I don't want to outrun him and get far than his leaping distance. Him being slowed and me pressing "S" seems to keep same distance. I never backpedal when: 1) I kite. That's what strafing keys are for.
  10. Giggles aside, you guys do understand that you had an issue with your stun ability, which made enemy play stunned animation indefinitly? I had to, no, not unsub, but restart the game quite a few times because of that. And then, I vanished.
  11. One another good DPS shadow?
  12. While I am a mara hater (well, a bit, they being the natural predator of my favorite sage class), I'll have to admit if you take out their defensive cooldowns their lasting power would make them almost unplayable. You should remember it's a character lacking stun/heavy armor/shield/normal stealth, and melee one. Take out their Camo and people would root and nuke them no problem. In my opinion, camo adds even more staying power than Undying Rage, at least when that happens, you just stun/root/slow + dot mara, and see him die from a dot tick after shield goes down. Before I played marauder myself, I thought it's their survivability which is an issue. But now I see, just how weak they can become without their shields. So IMO, it's certanly THE DAMAGE which should be toned down. Right now their damage is way ahead of some other DPS classes, and their burst is insane. They should fix that first, and think about defensive stuff later.
  13. Leveled assaut commando with her, no problem. Imo, her little robots are superior to Doc's colto cloud at least. And she wears the same stuff you wear, unlike Theran, Doc or Captain Fish-head who, while wearing same stuff, joins you too late. And you get Elara on ! A healer almost right from the start, this is just great.
  14. Completely opposite for me, I kinda always thought about myself as a supporting character, I choose to make a healer for my guild, and knew what I was doing from level 10 when I've seen a lightly armored class with a healing tree, dots and a lot of controls. I can't get what is so shameful in playing a lowest card standing in a house made of them.
  15. Yeah, I've already seen some dudes with 900 expertise with a few pieces of unmodded columi gear near PvP terminal. I was a bit sarcastic about my statement above of course, because I am completely sure myself that, the larger the community is, the thinnier it's skill level is spreaded out. On my PvE server, it's basicaly 2 rep PM's VS one solid imp clan, most who PvP are either augmented warhero with valor 80+, or their alts. So you have a lot of experienced players who grinded gear from the old times champion and never quited the game, playing their class and mastering, going on, and on, and on. Still, my sorceress is level 10 already ^_^ P.S. But at least prices make complete sense. Augments and augmented orange gear for average 50K. Double the cost for my server, lol.
  16. But healers, incs in particular, are nerfed and broken! /sarcasm
  17. If you really wish to play this, imo, weird hybrid, it could be something like this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#201GhrRMd0zZbZcMdRsMz.1 And you don't know what you're missing by not taking Sith Purity. It allows to clean some really nasty DoT's top melee's like so much. Speced, you should always have it on your bar on a handy enough button.
  18. That's it, I am doing a sorc on Freedon Nadd. I just want to see that nerf and coolkids from REAL PVP killing sorcs in 5 seconds myself already. I wanted to see your storyline anyway, and I don't want to do another sage/sorc archetype on my server cause I have only 2 slots for characters left there, and I need to L2P shadow/assasin and vanguard/powertech. I hope "Kreia" name has't been taken already... ...awww crap.
  19. Exploratory Surgery > Dirty Escape, in my opinion.
  20. I suggest to crawl back to your amazing PvP server where not a single person learned how to play a light-armored kiting class then.
  21. Big reveal: every class has to do it. Every rotation has 5-8 damaging/healing skills and an average of 10 utility skills. Add trinkets/specific utility to it (stealth, aggrocontrol), and you have yourself 20+ buttons. Aside from scoundrels/agents, I guess. Those have about 28, because they have stealth and healing both.
  22. That video is pure gold. I want to spec my commando into Gunnery and create that interface now... ...NOT.
  23. I play hybrid with vigilance and it's really one of the trump cards of mine (along with 60% critical increase for Dispatch which is blatantly insane). I always get a stun or knockback, because ranged characters, sages/sorcs and commandos/mercs in particular have it burried in their brain to use KB on a jump. That's why when I play as a sage, I always prefer to save my KB for latter, because who knows what skill the jumped guy used. My logic is that, when I use Master Strike, I don't want that nuke go to waste, so I speced my alt that way and try to prevent CC on me. And obviously, I'm not the only smartguy, so other guardians/juggs could do that aswell. So it's better to, when someone, like jugg in that case, jumps on you, is to go passive defense. As a Sage/Sorc bubble and heal yourself, and then run. Commando/Merc can use his shield, 10% heal or tech override + drone. After you've eaten a nukestrike, you may as well use your knockback.
  24. We have two infiltration shadows, and they seem to do more damage than sages, commando or gunslinger. The top goes to sentinel.
  25. I have your giggle on my commando Full Auto for some reason O_o
