  1. But I'm too lazy to learn a macro system, so why give other people an advantage? It isnt fair.
  2. I myself have never figured out macros, or really anything prefaced with a "/" (it's like my brain escapes it), and I'm fearful of people who use macros because it will make them into godmode gamers that can automate their play and hack the game. So hopefully never.
  3. I liked DA2 better for two reasons. Companions had permanent outfits (i.e. they looked like themselves no matter what you equipped them with), and buffs no longer put a weird immersion-breaking aura on your character. Minor things that probably no one even notices, but it just goes to show you.
  4. Thanks for chiming in on behalf of the Sweeping Generalizations Generation. I'm a gen X-er and I would like there to be a LFD tool. It's just one of those quality of life things. My main is a tank, so it doesnt really affect me much, I just wait for someone to say "group LFM tank" and I'm set. However I can imagine it sucks quite a bit for DPS.
  5. Gaming moose. I was never able to really develop the muscle memory to use them, I prefer the keyboard, but I have many friends who absolutely love their Naga Epic.
  6. Those would be trivialities, not trivia. No one is complaining about what the capital of Vermont is. Also, it is mighty presumptuous of you to dictate what is trivial for other people. Sluggish, unresponsive, delayed gameplay is not trivial in my eyes.
  7. The developers themselves probably dont pay much attention to the forums at all. They hire community managers to sift through the forums, as well as the in-game CS system and then place complaints and bugs into an internal ticketing system. Those tickets are then triaged, assigned a priority and severity metric, and assigned to various development teams.
  8. Hello from the forums! Your relatively poor grasp of when to use paragraph breaks makes anything you write a bit of a chore to read. So bear with me if I dont exactly follow your point. Also, I'm not sure it warranted cross-posting between here and reddit, but I suppose your post has at least a bit more substance than some things written here. So I'm left wondering what exactly your point is? That BioWare realizes their game is half baked, and that they are just as upset as we are? That's really not much of a consolation to those of us who were expecting a playable game at launch. We all know that they will slowly improve things through patching, but what exactly is supposed to keep people here, playing and paying? Promises of a brighter future? I doubt that will work in this day and age.
  9. Myself and guild mate were having a discussion about ability delay over Mumble the other night during warzones. Him: Yeah, I dont notice any delay whatsoever Him: <sounds of frantic mouseclicking> Me: You have to notice the fluidity, in a small window it's almost imperceptible, so you need to look at the flow of combat as a whole. Him: yeah, no, maybe your computer is slow or something Me: <watches him keyboard turn slowly while getting circle strafed by an assassin> Me: yeah, you're probably right...
  10. I guess i assumed you were on Windows 7, since you didnt really mention what version you were using.
  11. C'mon guys, give it a rest. We all know HeroEngine is a tried and proven MMO engine. There's SWTOR*, Faxion (did not finish), and Hero's Journey (did not finish, may have never existed at all). So enough with the hate. This is a proven engine. * it could be argued this game wasnt finished either.
  12. 1. not at the moment 2. No, but it has codex entries and you get titles for some "achievements" 3. They are only added to your total upon completing the quest you are working on 4. Not really. The mount saves you some credits i guess. I never use anything else that came with the CE 5. only in /say
  13. Good, I'm glad they are fixing things with some agility.
  14. Derp. The engine this game runs on came out before that dude's video card did. We arent talking about cutting edge here. Anyway, I run the game between 40-60fps with maxed settings and 2x forced AA on my HD5700 which cant be much better than your card. I run 8GB of RAM, and I rarely if ever exceed 50% utilization when playing TOR, so I doubt you are bottlenecking at system memory. I've heard that launching the game in Windows XP compatibility mode greatly improves performance. I recommend giving it a try.
  15. Opinions are fine, and ultimately subjective. But really, if you think that combat is more responsive in TOR than in Rift, you either havent played both games, or are simply lying for the sake of a good troll. It's not subjective. The fluidity of combat in both Rift and WoW is leagues above TOR. Leagues. It's measurable. I love the IP, story, and questing of TOR. It beats the snot out of WoW and Rift inthose regards. But seriously, they need to address the combat.
  16. You realize that software development isnt done in a vacuum, right? Bioware, Trion, etc are all aware of the things Blizzard and other shops have done right and wrong in the past, and they are able to apply that knowledge themselves to avoid the pitfalls that have befallen others. MMOs at this point have a compendium of knowledge to draw from, because there have been ~13 years of success and failures by other companies. Your logic isnt at all sound.
  17. No, its just a much better game in comparison to TOR. I guess BioWare is the PR shill in this case.
  18. The point is that WoW had very little competition when it released. The only other games I would consider in the same generation at the time were SWG (which was destroyed by the CU at the time) and EQ2. I think by those circumstances, people were a bit more patient with it. Here in 2012, there are just too many other choices out there for people to hang around and wait for a game to get better. It should have been better when they started charging for it.
  19. I like the pvp in Rift much better than I did in WoW. I do miss WoW's arena system, but combat seems much smoother in Rift.
  20. Ehh, the biggest issue with Trion was that slew of hacked accounts that completely overloaded their CS system. If they had not made that huge faux pas with ther authentication handshake, things would have been better. I was completely amazed on how quickly they actually fixed it after some guy posted the nature of vulnerability on the forums though.
  21. hahaha, I'm in the exact same boat. I was completely burned out on Rift until I realized how terrible TOR was. Now I'm back in Rift.
  22. Rift: pro: incredible flexibility and customization. quad-specs are fun. con: nothing very innovative, wow-clone. WoW: dunno, havent played it in awhile. SWTOR: pro: it's star wars, great story, great voice acting. con: everything else.
  23. It's a realtime delay from when the command is initiated to when it is executed. It's a confirmed bug.
  24. yes and no. The legal-ese in the TOS is just CYA stuff. Many people, including myself, are using macro software. If BW wants to try to enforce what interacts with my keyboard, godspeed to them. The ability delay alone has made be all but give up on macros (and the game) for the time being.
