  1. F2P does not mean you have to pay to get access to game features? Will GW2 be like that too?
  2. maybe if you do not use it then you will not see it? let others choose for themselves.
  3. I think I downloaded EVE once, did some tutorial missions but could not understand it. Maybe I need to give it a second chance.
  4. Actually during the last few LFRs there are usually sensible players that look at the damage/healing meters and start a kick vote for the slackers. There is nothing you can do about loot ninjas though.
  5. In case others have not already touched on this, the LFG/LFR across servers makes the experience very impersonal, since amongst the millions of subscribers it is rare to meet the same players again any time soon, and this brings out the worst in people: they become selfish, loot ninjas, they take advantage and go AFK or slack and so on. This is not the norm, but in a 25 man raid you will typically have 2-5 players that will slack or roll on items they do not really need. This is like 10%, and it annoys the other players so much that they claim that the LFG/LFR has ruined their experience.
  6. Can't post on Rift forums, must buy the game first. Asking about WOW and SWTOR to judge better comments on RIFT.
  7. What is efficiency? You mean using the resources of your PC and network bandwidth?
  8. But in EVE, are those 42K players able to meet each other, or are they instanced away and unable to interact? I find it very hard to believe that there is only one world supporting 42K players simultaneously.
  9. So is Diablo 2. COD/MW3 must be a MMMMMMMMMMMO.
  10. This is not trolling, just serious question if you can What are the main pros and cons on the above 3 games. I have played SWTOR and WOW but not RIFT. Thanks
  11. I also played SWG heavily and then WOW heavily. If you remove the basics that some players have asked for, like threat meters, combat logs, addons etc, then you are also asking for the end game raid bosses to be toned down so as to be doable with semi-random and unoptimised talents and gear. You are actually asking for something like WOW's LFR system where the bosses almost die from boredom.
  12. As a matter of fact, because I really cannot face anymore of Nar Shaddaa, the corridors have won, I am beat, I find reading these forums between WOW raid pulls very entertaining. One thing though, only paying customers read these forums. And I would think only those who want an opinion or have a suggestion or complaint to make. So it does not matter i he fanboys berate the whiners because it's in the family.
  13. I think SWTOR has missed the point, sure, and I think it would need some serious planet overhaul to be called MMO, but still, having sold 1.5 milion copies even if all subscriptions cancel tomorrow, still is this not a huge achievement ? Would that not make SWTOR second only to WOW? I am not aware of any other game out there grossing so much?
  14. All those replies not a word on SWTOR and how it could be different. So much WOW hatred blinkers you and you do not care what SWTOR is and what it could be.
  15. When WOW came out they broke the mould, if you were not around at the time, they turned the MMO world upside down with their approach. Regardless whether they stole ideas from other games, they mainly appealed to the casual player that has little time on his hands. But they did not lose track of the hard-core raiders and made very hard end game raids. They looked at PvP and kept changing class specs to align with PvP requirements. SWTOR has copied WOWs combat system, talents and abilities. They have voice over in their quests but the rest is a copy of WOW, and a bad copy at that. I keep hearing "go back to WOW" but if it were not for all bugs and the ridiculous maps, you'd be forgiven for thinking this is a WOW private server with lightsabers. Unfortunately they were not bold enough to break away from WOW. I know it is a commercial decision. But it sucks. Suggestions. Look at WOW's combat. 25 man raid, that is 25 players plus a few mobs, the screen is lit like a Christmas Tree. I cannot even see my character. If I move the mouse I lose it and I cannot find it. There are thousands of spell effects I would not see where I am or what I am doing without the target bars. It is chaos. Abilities come so quick I have sequences and macros to use them. Animations mean nothing, it is all a blur. Exaggerating for effect, a friend told me "switch your screen off, mash the keys and imagine the fight, you will still win". In the meantime with the existing predefined gear and talents, everyone follows the same cookie-cutter builds so that there is no variation at all. In Diablo 2 there were literally thousands of weapons and armour that would drop and you could do crazy stuff with some imagination. Why could SWTOR not make a new combat system, new gear items, random stats not predetermined perhaps, maybe animations would be part of the ability, and you can see what you are about to do. You do not need 150 buttons but maybe 2 or 3. Just make it new and different. I do not know how different and I am not full of ideas, but not a WOW clone! Such a shame.
