  1. Same, but all of that is irrelevant. Developer communication in the way of posting on the forums is pretty necessary for a healthy MMO.
  2. You're doing it wrong. Properly specced sorcs and sages can do significant damage.
  3. Please fix OWPvP....there isn't any. Ilum sucks for this. Today I had a decent chat with a Republic player who was nice enough to help me get my weekly done in about 10 minutes. Yep.
  4. Alright, you've fully proven yourself to be a BW apologist, someone who will make excuses and reasons for every flaw that this game has. It isn't about patience in high level PvE or competitive PvP - it's about us needing our abilities to work when we press them, the animations to finish with the cast timers - and to remove the bugs that are in the combat system itself. Doing attacks AFTER the animations (vs AFTER the cast timer) adds up to literal seconds lost, when there is a palpable .5 second invisible animation timer on many abilities. Those seconds adds up quickly to extra heals, extra utility, extra dps that could and very well SHOULD be going out in an encounter but isn't because of this faulty design. Button mashing is an apologist excuse to this problem, even IF it is root of this problem, their design mechanic is STILL a huge fail - you cannot ask customers to politely press ONCE in intensive combat or else it will BREAK your combat system. Can you understand that? Yes? No?
  5. QFE. Really wish people would stop trying to act like this was all in our heads - or even better, that it's working as intended as a deliberate design mechanic.
  6. There have already been quotes in this thread by BH Mercs experiencing this issue...so...awesome for you? There are also videos in the OP of undeniable evidence that this combat system right now is broken. Have you ever capped a point in the WZ, or at least thought you did because the CT finished - but was interrupted anyway? That is a concurrent problem with this whole animation system. Mount ct finish, so you start moving but get dis-mounted anyway? It. Is. Broken. If you aren't experiencing this - great, awesome. There are many of us at high level play (hard mode fps and ops), or competitive play (PvP) that are experiencing it and it is debilitating. Mashing buttons or not is wholly irrelevant to a game's gameplay or at least it should be. Telling your customers not to press a keybind twice, or else it'll break your combat system, when they really need that ability to go off at that exact time in the heat of whatever they're doing is just fail no matter which way you try and cut it.
  7. You are absolutely right. Using timing, having a good rotation and sit. awareness isn't something that's supposed to be a boon for this combat system though - it's universal. However, imo it sounds like you haven't gotten to 50 and done any hardmodes yet. When you do, you will understand that chain casting is necessary at times, esp when a boss is able to literally one or 2 shot respectably geared level 50s.
  8. You don't have a clue what the hell you're talking about. That's what *I* think. Get to level 50 as a healer (pref Sage or Sorc), try a hard mode flashpoint, especially since they buffed Yadira Ban in the 1.01 patch, and come back and talk to me. I'm not exaggerating at all. How could I be when there are freaking video examples of everything I listed in the OP? Think people. Think.
  9. This issue is unbelievable. This is evident everywhere, from mounting to capturing nodes in Ald or VS. There is a .5 second window after you finish the cast timer on either arming or disarming, or capping a point wherein which you can still be interrupted. This. is. game. breaking. As a healer, doing level 50 HM's it is absolutely necessary at times for me to chain cast to keep my team alive. Derp, back to back cast timers actually can do a number of things: * Cancel out your ability totally, while still playing the animation but no effect * Cancel out the animation but still apply the effect (in this case a heal) * Get caught in a jerky animation bug where every time I try to cast an ability I will do a quick animation start then it will be canceled, when I try again (about a split second later) I will get the jerk start/stop bug again, this will repeat over and over for a time. Pausing didn't stop this issue. This has caused deaths and wipes and repair bills. This is absolutely debilitating to high level play, in the worst way. We're gearing up to start raids very very soon and can you imagine trying to take bosses with this buggy combat system? Uggh.
  10. Whereas here, there is no community - and the developers don't post at all right? Right?
  11. Well actually, yes - they have listened to the community in their iterations of series - and when they didn't, we got the disaster that was Dragon Age 2. Furthermore, this isn't a single player game - or at least it isn't meant to be. This is supposed to be an MMO, where feedback is much more important to your future iterations of said MMO, much more so than with a single player game.
  12. No, it's not. And even so: it's a pvp server for crying out loud. It's clearly listed - with a server warning every single time you log in. You CAN reward Open World PvP creatively. Even if it does inspire gank fests - those in turn will inspire true open world PvP, unlike now where it's not happening at all. You know I might be inclined to tell you just how condescending you are, or how wrong you are - but I dare you to look at some of the other pages in the PvP discussion and see just how many are clamoring for this type of content. It doesn't matter if you're 50 or 30 the way they've designed this game is build around the concept of uninspiring PvP. See first paragraph. In short: you're wrong. Stop telling people who bring up legitimate criticisms to go back to WOW. Say it enough and it just might happen and you won't have anyone else to play with. No, I kill them for the simple enjoyment of killing them - but does that mean that because I choose to PvP in Open World vs WZs, as I find them distasteful, THAT I SHOULD BE GIMPED VALOR, COMMENDATION, UNLOCKABLE TITLES AND PVP GEAR WISE BECAUSE THAT'S WHERE THE BEST REWARDS ARE COMING FROM? MAYBE I JUST WANT TO BE REWARDED THE SAME - LIKE GEORG SUPPOSEDLY SAID IN HIS QUOTE! See, I can type in all caps too. Difference is, I actually have a point.
  13. No, because Georg Zoeller would have just given more disingenuous answers like he did in my OP.
  14. No, you don't. My god people - communicative developers has been done before (TRION and RIFT) and their game didn't go to hell. It's not a blastering crater with people saying, "Well, if only the developers there talked less to the community...." kind of nonsense. Please stop making excuses for silence. Do they need to read thousands of threads? No. Can they be pinpointed to a thread by the community team? Yes. Will writing up a 15 minute post and checking back on it a few hours later seriously derail their schedule? No. The game design argument is complete trash. They have developers from Mythic working for them and yet they have the weakest PvP here moreso than any MMO I've played. Ever. Game design schooling =/= innate knowledge on how to make a game FUN.
  15. Wow this is beyond bad.... Illum is just as dead as every other planet ffs.
  16. Do they need to read every single post? No, of course not. Should they read the OP of a few prominent threads and write a response? Yes. Do you have to have a clue about game design to know whether or not you like a game? Hello, my friend - wake up.
  17. Yeah that is a bit pathetic, but also likely true. I would like to think my thread not totally worthless though, hopefully they pay some attention soon... ...I hope...
  18. Hello BW, Your fanbase here. I'm pretty sure we can all agree that one of the keys to healthy longevity of a MMO is the communicative level of its developers. Developers engaging its community in dialogue and discussion (twitter and facebook do not facilitate these) is not a privilege, but more of an expectation of an MMO's community. It's not an exaggeration to say that game companies (and their respective games) get reputations based on the levels of developer communications: see TRION-RIFT-AWESOME / SOE-ANYTHING-ATROCIOUSDISASTER. I won't deny that I really hope BW follows RIFT's levels of developer communication, but even if not, I surely hope the status quo (total and utter silence) changes soon. There are tons of benefits to frequent and open developer communication: * Calms the community: helps give us insight on current systems or mechanics and what's in store for the future. * Explains your position: allows the community to see your perspective * Influence: the community needs to feel as if they have a measure of control or influence over the shape and direction of the game. Engaging them in dialogue and then actually implementing their feedback into your direction of the game increases retention. Currently there are some major issues affecting the game and we have no developer communication regarding these. * Lack of World PvP, no incentive (I'm level 50 on a consistently FULL server and I can count the # of times I've WPvP'ed on one hand) * Ability and Combat Unresponsiveness * The, quite frankly, large list of bugs that exist in the game to date - some literally hindering player progression * LvL 50 dailies not updating upon completion, or Level 50 flashpoints with bugged mobs (nice ninja buff in the patch today on Yadira Ban in the HM BT btw ) Such threads like this, or this or have gotten lots of attention and would be great to get some developer discussions going on. We need to see developers communicating with us about these things - and discussing with us where we're going to go. So what does this mean? We don't need: Stephen Reid David Bass Joveth Gonzalez or Emmanuel Luscini coming into such threads saying they're gathering the feedback on these issues to report to you some random time some random place in some random way. We do need: Janes Ohlen Georg Zoeller Damion Schubert Gabe Amatangelo - the people who design and develop the game addressing some really core issues in a frank and open way and talking with us on your future designs on how to alleviate them. Especially GZ, DS and GA - there are some really heavy combat bugs right now and we need to see your thoughts on these. No, I don't speak for the whole community, but I do think many would agree that they would like to see these names pop up quite a bit more in threads of game importance. Thankyou and I hope you consider posting much more frequently. Please post if you agree or support.
  19. Aaaaaannnnnnnnnd you forgot to link this magic video.... EDIT: lol there you go EDIT 2: Try again, wrong link
  20. You and your entire guild are cowards. Here's a few newsflashes for ya: 1. You do not roll on a PvP server, knowingly the underdogs at that, only to cry pop imbalance and seek to **** out of pvp by not questing in the open world. 2. You do not roll on a PvP server to try and avoid World PvP. 3. You and your guild belong on PvE servers wherein which you can determine when and how you will engage in Open World PvP. To seek to regulate these things is the complete anti-thesis to PvP servers. But congrats, you are who they designed this game for - people who THINK they want PvP servers but actually don't. This is why they freaking segregated everyone with different quest hubs and mission locations. Unbelievable. I'm lvl 50 and I can count the number of Open World fights I've had on my queue-to-login PvP server on one hand.
  21. This is not a specific fault of server forums - but of forums itself. You cannot blame server forums for something like this.
  22. Listen BioWare: Server communities are hurting. I'm lvl 50, and in my time questing I've only had 3 Open World PvP experiences on a heavy pop, wait-in-queue server. 3, across 17 planets. My members have (or don't have I guess you could say) similar experiences. Your planet and quest design segregates the playerbase (imps at one end, pubs at another), we can only chat in /say not cross faction channels, there is no LFG finder, there aren't any server forums - exactly HOW are you trying to inspire server communities again? By not implementing cross server queues? That's all? You need to start throwing your community a bone - and FAST!
  23. Yes, many of them are. Your fanboy delusions blind you.
