  3. Thank you guys for the feedback, I did not realize your purge did not remove force abilities. I will tweak the guide i'm working on to include this data. For the trolls, your information was helpful as well, but the attitude was not. The new guide will contain a full rundown on all the sorcs abilities, and utility so that you can know the class as good as the sorcs know their own. I hope it helps people. And as for the one comment about it being disturbing i'm telling people how to kill sorcs, is because it is a circumvention tool to a nerf, since most the "QQ nerf" people know nothing about the class. As an added bonus, I would enjoy more of a challenge while playing the sorc, topping the charts at about 400k damage with 11 medals a game in every warfront gets old after a while.
  4. Too many people are trolling. LIKE I SAID IN THE ORIGINAL POST, I was addressing issues I have seen in posts, not giving an all around guide on how to beat them. If you want a FULL guide, I will post one by the end of tomorrow, and ask for it to be stickied.
  5. It's not a guide, if it was, I would have put [Guide]. Like I said in the beginning, this is answering some of the questions I have seen that have not yet been answered to my knowledge. I'm not going to write a full on guide on how to beat sorcs, I mean... I'm sure between all my posts, if there was a way to find them and throw them together, would be a very in-depth detailed guide. Pyrotechs have no problems with sorcs, so your good to go.
  6. Here is some facts about things I see people complaining about on sorcs. When they complain, they greatly over-exaggerate because they have no clue of the mechanics of a sorc. This will show you the 3 specs strengths, and how to beat them. A lightning sorc will never go below 95% power. A few talents help us with this. Talent 1 : +100 force, so now we are at 600 force. Talent 2 : 9% force cost decrease across the board Talent 3 : every crit procs a buff that has 2 charges, and reduces the next abilities force cost by 50%. Madness sorcs will go oom quickly, as spamming dots the entire time will wipe us out within 15 seconds. Heal sorcs have a few talents that help them out, but is a pain to keep up Ability 1 : Consumption, replenishes 8% force at the cost of 15% health, and decreases the force regen rate by 25% for 10 seconds. Stacks up to 4 times, so that would mean... 60% health loss, 34% force gain, and 0% force regen. Talent 1 : Innervate crits proc a buff that makes consumption give 8% power, the other 2 abilities are dropped. This is how the power works on a Sorc. Sure we can kite, maybe. If we kite operatives, they backstab and we die. If we kite tanks, the charge and root us. If we kite ranged dps, you can't. If you let a sorc dot you, and your dumb enough not to purge when they run away, your useless... /reroll. Purge should be part of your dps rotation, against madness sorcs, it will save you probably 40-60% of your health. In cluster****'s, use it whenever its off cooldown, odds are... youve been dotted by atleast one person. and again, odds are you have multiple dots from multiple people and they DO stack. 2 madness sorcs = 6 dots on you. PURGE people, and they are useless. As for force lightning spammers, interrupt their force lightning, and the next thing your gonna get is 2 aoe's that hit for 2k-3k each, and some dots.. rather than a 3 second or 1.5 second ( talented off of Affliction crits, which affliction is the slowest hitting dot, one tick every 3-4 seconds depending on your talents ) 4k damage force lightning channel. When your fighting heal sorcs, wait till they are in the middle of casting a heal spell, and interrupt. They have 4 more heals they can use, so your best bet is to interrupt, wait for them to figure it out ( 1-3 seconds ), and stun them, deeps, and stun them again if you can, and interrupt again. If you don't have them by now, you either have buddies backing you up at this time, or they do.. and your screwed. Nothing you can do about it. As for the shield, operatives have kolto probes, stackable twice that heal for around 500 a tick every 3 seconds, EACH. Lasting 15 seconds, this equates to a shield, and theres no downtime, so in reality their kolto probes have 5 seconds more of "Shielding" than sorcs do because of the 20 second shield lockout on sorcs. Mercs have heavy armor, and some nice CC. Heavy armor mitigates about 18% more damage than light armor does, and they more than likely have more health because they are half tank. Each heal class has it's perks, and each perk adds up to the other classes perks more or less. DPS wise, I already gave you the rundown. Yes, i'm a sorc and have been every kind of spec / hybrid spec atleast 5 times each. The force lightning spamming spec has the most damage, the madness DOT spec has the most utility, and the heal spec is of course just a heal spec.

    Agreed, I wish more sorcs would roll other classes. But who can resist the pew pew of lightning, and the overall damage in the warzones which means nothing. Take a maurader thats doing 250k, to a sorc doing 300k. The maurader did that 1v1, we did that 1v5. We can't kill people, we just help other people kill alot of other people. IF thundering blast and the talents worked correctly, that's supposed to be our 4k-5k damage spell, but atm we are lucky if it does 3k. The 50% crit damage talent is broken. So rue the day when sorcs start using a working thundering blast. EVERY one of you will be crying nerf. Until then, sit tight, and enjoy our 2k damage aoe's. Oh, and it is 5k on the shield noob, it's been tested, and i've personally tested it. So ****.

    You are completely wrong in everything you just said. The cd is 5 seconds, or no cd with talents. The LOCKOUT is 20 seconds. Someone can only get shielded every 20 seconds, and its a 4k shield, 5k with talents. Holy christ you people have no clue. Pull your heads out, if your going to say something, make sure you know what your talking about.

    You are seriously misguided. You cannot spec in a lower lockout of the bubble. The only thing you can spec in is 20% extra absorb, bringing it from 4k to 5k. HOWEVER, there is a set bonus on the gear that reduces the lockout from 20 seconds to 17 seconds. There is also a talent that takes it from a 6 second recast CD, to no CD. This does not help us, because we are still on lockout for 20 seconds. If you can't do 5k damage, and then kill a squishy sorc, you are just a horrible player. I'm a sorc, if you couldn't tell, and most melee beat me. Operative/snipers rarely get me, and other sorcs never get me. Sins, I have a pretty hard time with, same with mercs. There are your FACTS on the bubble. Rule #1 at beating a sorc: dot them if u have dots, and they havent seen you yet. Rule #2 don't stand next to a ledge and get knocked off and then kited. Rule #3 dont stand in a group of friendlys. Rule #4 Burst damage their first shield, if they pop it again, cc them. Honestly, it's 4-5k damage mitigation, you already do 15% extra damage to them because of the light armor. I have 2 other classes level 40+, and i have no trouble killing sorcs. Most sorcs are bad players, they just want to pew pew lightning. Seriously, if your having problems, learn the enemy or you cant beat the enemy.
  11. It looks like a crude assessment of Utility. I believe that the OP intent was to show a crude scale of "UTILITY". For example, from a Sorc's point of view, we have 6 CC's: 1 stun, 1 knockback, 2 slows, 1 cc, and 1 root (talented). We have 3 dots if talented Up to 2 shields a fight mitagating 5k damage each Friendly pull... not as fun as an enemy pull.. but it's very useful. 2 Insta AOE's with 1 that heals you for 3% if talented right Force speed which is a huge advantage in huttball for clearing the air vents and with shield up, we can force speed through fire taking no actual damage, the shield absorbs it all. As far as damage, if there were combat logs, the enemy would see this play out in about 8 seconds : 350, 2k, 1k, 450, 1k, 350, 450, 1k, 450, 1k, 350, 3.5k, 3.5k. 350 is affliction, ticks every 3 seconds 2k is the initial burst of crushing darkness 1k is the first tick of force lightning 450 is the 1 second ticks of crushing darkness 3.5k is the insta death field up to 3 targets 3.5k is the insta chain lightning up to 5 targets ( talented has a 30% chance to hit the same targets for another 1.5k ). So, here is what a sorc "Burst" combat log would look like. This is 0/23/18 spec. Good post OP!
  12. At level 50, most of your skills gain another rank via the trainer. At level 50, you get pvp gear and expertise. At level 50, you can pretty much double cunning and endurance. At level 50, you can have 40% crit chance and 99% crit multiplier.

  15. Thats some good insight, and I was thinking along the lines of sustainability. For example, I normally sit back and dot everyone around me with affliction, and creeping death when its not on cd, then crushing darkness when it's not on cd. So at any point in time i have probably 8-10 dots ticking at once, and the reason i started to think about this is because if i have that many dots going, paracitism might keep me up a little bit better while im using death field which can heal me too. Normally in the big frays theres atleast 1 or 2 people focusing me. Your right though, even with 20% talent, paracitism will only heal me for 0.9%, given I have 9 % in expertise, im not sure how that factors in mathematically.
  16. So, I have not yet tested this talent, but im very interested in seeing how this thing works. First, does it actually heal for 1%, or is it a misguided percentage? because if it healed for 1% each crit, on a 15k health player that would be 150 health per crit. How about the devour talent? It increases death field and paracitism healing by 20%... so does it make paracitism 1.2%? And is this worth 4 talent points? Does anyone have any insight who has actually used or tested this talent?
  17. My last warzone in huttball: 297,852 damage ( almsot had it dangit ) 37 kills 3 deaths 143,701 healing 1600 protection = 9 medals.
  18. The only difference between my rotation and yours, is you require extra energy regen abilities to keep up with your force storm. That ability will drain you quick even with the extra talents to help with force. Honestly, you'd do more damage just leaving that out and using force lightning ( which actually costs so little by the time it's done ticking your focus has increased beyond its point of start when you used it ) until wrath procs. Reason being, your aoe damage is your highest single target damage anyways, with force lightning being second. Don't waste it on basically a weak aoe dot like force storm. Trust me. Deathmark > Force lightning > Chain Lightning > Force Lightning > Deathmark ... Extensive testing I have come up with the percentages and time taken for overall dps for a 5 ability rotation from every spec i've tried. This one by far is like I said, the best. 2215 damage per second is what this one does, the closest was the 13/28 with 1682, next was 10/31 with 1253. Reason being, Dot's take time to do damage, where as by the time affliction has done it's 1300 damage, I've done 3 chain lightnings for 8-10k per target total, so this brings down the damage per second rating in the other specs.

  21. I have a few friends I've known long before they were hired on as dev's at bioware, and I will shoot this over to them for sure. They aren't exactly... part of this department, but they should know the ones who are.
  22. You target the tank by clicking on him, or clicking his name in the party chat. You target the mob he is hitting, by targeting the mob, or tab targeting until you get the right one. There are no shortcuts to this yet, so get used to it for a while.
  23. Ok, your right. I'm making all this up. 13/28 is fine, if thats what you like to do, then do it. While your focused on keeping dots on people, i'm focused on force lightning till it procs wrath for chain lightning, I gaurantee this spec does more overall damage, as i've only gotten below 300k in 2 out of the 14 warzones i have played as this spec today. If you can top it with 13/28, be my guest. It's not possible, because I was 13/28 9/10'ths of the time since I have been 50, and I always broke 200k sure, but never 300k, as well as 11 other medals a match. Thank you, I gaurantee it.
  24. Are you slow? I have 2/2 in Electric Bindings, and Lightning Barrage is useless, I don't use dots so that I may maximize Sorc dps potential, so why in the hell would I spec in Lightning Barrage? Way to be observant.
