  1. Haven't logged in, in two months, unistalled today.
  2. Just canceled my account sadly. I have one more day of play time, the free month is a nice offer, but in my opinion is not worth me paying yet another 15 bucks to get me to the 24th when I can redeem my free 30 days for a game I haven't logged into for over 3 weeks. When canceling my account I was asked why, and this is what I told them, "Too linear, casual, carebear and easy. I waited 6 years for this game and was overall disappointed. I think the devs should have tried to make something more innovative besides VO and dialog options. The rest of the game is like WOW, but even more linear, and the open world PVP is pretty much non existent, which is a real bummer. The hero engine just can't handle large scale battles with numerous players in the same area, this was a HUGE over sight by the developers. This MMO feels like a single player game with a coop feature. Too much instancing and sharding. It's ok the first time through, but making alts is too much deja vu. The end game is boring with only a few warzones for PVP, and the fail that was Ilum. I am truly saddened to cancel my account, but the reality is I haven't logged in, in weeks. And it's because I'm bored to tears with the game. It is way too easy for anyone who is more than a casual gamer. Also even though I didn't care for SWG, that game had several things right that this game doesn't, one being a sandbox approach and the feeling of freedom. Players don't like being "herded" down pathways like cattle. Secondly, they had a way better concept of what space combat, and space travel should be like in a star wars game. The on rails space combat in SWTOR is piss poor at best. I MIGHT, consider coming back in a couple years if this game hasn't completely tanked by then, and if they find a way to make siege engines into the game with large scale(100's of players) epic open world PVP battles, and space combat that has PVP and is not on "rails". Another BIG issue for me was the overall lack of gear looks. They all look the same and any class that was similar to your level would probably look just like you, very little adversity in the look of the gear. Also the lack of a hood up/down feature is baffling, and further more the lack of a visible hood and mask (ala' Revan) combo being worn and visible at the same time is even more so disappointing. I wanted to make a sith warrior marauder with my hood up and mask on like the advertised CGI commercials for the game, or like the SW avatars on the official forums FFS. Instead had to either pick the mask on, with the hood off, or the hood up with the mask off, even though both items are equipped at once. This is a standard for MMO's 6 years ago when this game started development. WTH guys? And an MMO with no guild bank, OR guild halls?! Who does that? I don't know how to code or to make a game, but I feel if someone with my knowledge of what "REAL long time paying gaming community customers" wanted was the one calling shots about what WAS, and WASN'T important to have IN at launch, and what was the best way to project a star wars MMO that was truly more open and gave more freedom, then we might have had a game that actually met expectations, instead what we ended up with was a rehash of WOW, and not even a good clone. I personally never cared for WOW, and it's easily accessible approach, but you guys made the call to copy and paste a lot of WOW, and will probably end up with a lose/lose situation, because those of us who hate WOW won't keep playing this game, and those of us who loved WOW are more then likely sick of WOW by now and this game is too familiar in that respect. In closing though If this game had the PVP of Dark ages of Camelot, or WARHammer, then I would have stayed indefinetly, I really stuck up for this game for a long time, but even then knew in the back of my mind I was lying to myself this game is just not good, and a lot of things that make it "not good" are here to stay, like the games engine... Goodbye SWTOR, To Bioware, I still respect you, but stick to single player RPG's in the future. 1.2 is too late and offers me nothing outside of 1, new warzone, sorry. Not worth another 15 bucks, I paid my 100 dollars and change to you guys for my support of the game (and beta tested for three builds and gave the best feedback I could) , hopefully you guys learn something from players like me leaving, and strive to make a better game, it will be too little too late though, me thinks. To Mythic, *** man?! I suspect you came to the project way too late in the games life to make much of an impact but still I am flabbergasted at the FAIL that is this game's open world PVP. And 3 warzones, or soon to be 4 is just not enough. To EA, **** you guys, you taint everything you touch, you should listen more to your games development teams and not force unrealistic deadlines on them, and not make choices for them, the last good game you guys made was the late 90's early 00's madden games, since then you started to monopolize the video game market and you honestly do ruin everything you touch. ~Dego Locc, (Hardcore gamer, with decades of MMO' hours under his belt, among many other genre's, professional CAL league FPS player, and very avid Star Wars fan.)" To those of you who are still having fun with the game I am happy for you guys, hopefully I can find that game to hook me in for some time, but this isn't it. Fairwell to you all. P.S. Yes, you can ALL have my stuff, but I mean do you really want it? Chances are you all already have all the same stuff as me, considering there really isn't THAT much stuff to begin with.

    Will pvp die?

LOL. You make me laugh. Listen to yourself, and how you come off. In your head anyone who has a different opinion than you is wrong. Reminds me of my 9 year old son's outlook on life. But he's 9 so...... Open world PVP in my opinion, is the best PVP in MMO's. On thread topic, yes I think it will die even more than it already has.
  4. Saber of Exar Kun has at most 70 ppl on the imperial fleet during peak hours. 50's wz ques take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes to pop. Sad.
  5. I was checking that out too, and signed up for the beta, then I seen they were using the Hero Engine and I got sad. Sure it's a better version of the hero engine than what SWTOR uses, but still this game has made me lose all hope in the hero engine. ON thread title, although I also would love to see these changes happen to SWTOR, I just don't think it's ever gonna happen.
  6. For someone who thinks the game is soooo awesome and fun, you sure do spend a lot of time making snide comments to other posters on the forums.
  7. He hates reading opinions that aren't his own obviously. Or maybe he really agrees with all the QQing, but doesn't want to admit it.
  8. However it's going to work, PTS, or live, it's going to be easy mode.
  9. In the right spec, it crits harder then than, and it's an aoe. Like I said, my main is a mara, and I can destroy tightly packed groups with it, in combination with my other aoe that is instant with no cool down. It's OP. But I usually spec carnage for the roots(because they can't run away, means I kill them), and the 10% damage increase was needed and welcomed.
  10. My main is a Mara, and while the buff to carnage is welcomed and deserved, I personally think the buff to smash is a bad idea because its already kinda OP, and to bump it up would just make more ppl qq about us, and in the end get us nerfed completely. So yea, I don't think Mara's needed messed with, I do quite the devastating amount of damage as is, with a decent amount of survivability.
  11. Thank you, and I too understand where you are coming from. I prefer open world PVP, and lets face it, there is no way to control that as far as fair goes, but losing was still fun, just being part of a siege of a keep where there are 100's of ppl battling, THAT it what I love about MMO's pvp-wise. I just feel that as far as "Rated or ranking" warzones, it cool idea or whatever, but PVP in MMO's just has too many variables to be considered a competitive fair e sport. Like I said, even when we all have the same gear, there are some ppl who have all the datacrons, some won't, there will be ppl who use the best stims, while some use the average, and some don't use any, and some classes are straight out better than others, in certain situations or scenarios. I just don't think it will work, or if it does, it will never be taken seriously among the e sport community just like WoW, isn't. There are way better games suited for competitive PVP instead of MMO's. Is my main point, and I think its funny all the talk of "real pvpers" and "real skill" and how since my opinion differs than their, I must have no idea what I am talking about, ect. ect. TL: DR, I play MMO's for different reasons than I play real professional e sports. And to be honest I have always found them refreshingly different, and a good break from constant memory movement practice and scrims. But I totally get where you're coming from, and what you'd like to achieve, I just don't see it happening, tbh, Time will tell.
  12. I don't know about working my but off... But yea, do feel like time was wasted, and I think it's a bad direction for the games longevity. I think War Hero gear should have been required rank 70, and they should have not messed with valor gains. They also should have implemented something earlier to discourage Ilum trading. And maybe lessened the stat gap between War Hero and centurion. We will all find out a couple months after 1.2 hits if they change is good or not. I'm not optimistic though.
  13. You have very little understanding that you simply don't know everything, Every one of your posts magnifies it. UO EQ 1 & 2 pre cu/SWG DAoC Vandgaurd Hero's of Ruin WAR I've been around the block as far as MMO's And I only listed the ones I played for years. There have been a few others I test drove, but weren't for me. Again read what I wrote after edit.............. Every post of yours I read, it seems you are trying to convince yourself how you feel. I don't have enough gaming or "PVP experience" to know what I am talking about? I am 30 years old, been playing PVP PC games professionally and competitively since 2003, I was in the CAL leagues for counter strike 1.6 and source, and have been flown around the world to tournaments and played for cash prizes for years. As far as MMO's go, I have been playing them since 1997. I have been playing games in general since pong. I unlike you, I have enough sense to know that "REAL PVPERS"( a word you use and cherish so much) know that MMO's aren't the place to go to get fair and equal PVP. Even outside of gear, datacrons, and stims, the class balancing act is impossible to ever make viably equal enough to be taken as a serious e sport. MMO's are about time sinks, and character or gear progression, and vanity items and titles aren't enough to keep ppl paying a monthly sub, I have seen it happen before, and it's happening now, some serious MMOers are leaving the game because it simply too easy, on all fronts. The game will never be truley balanced or fair, why make us all have the same gear? Like I said earlier many times, two months from after 1.2 launches, most of us will all have the same gear in endgame, and the same color. It will be boring there will be nothing to work for. Stats? bragging rights? Hell obviously with my gaming history mentioned above, I could get all that, and more than 4 maps from a buy to play game, and when I need that instant gratification fix, I go play an arcade fighter online, or an FPS. Unlike you, I can also admit there are other ppl on the other side of the fence who want to try out the fair even gear playing field, that's fine, But I feel the way I do for obvious reasons mentioned above , and other gamers share my opinion too. It's all a perspective issue for the most part. And time will tell who is right in the end, as far as this games PVP's success goes.

    Is SWTOR dying?

Agreed, and I love star wars, but this game is lacking content, even for an MMO vanilla launch.

    Is SWTOR dying?

Yes the game does seem less active, on most servers, seems every week the fleet numbers drop, hell on my server, I'm lucky to see 60 ppl on the fleet, on fri, or sat night prime time, eastern time. They might have 1.7 million subs, or w/e, but it doesn't seem like anyone is really logged in or playing.
  17. Sadly I just don't think games engine is able to handle more than one ops group for each fraction in the same zone/area without the 10 fps issue.
  18. Servers statuses are NOT dropping, *waves hand* A merger is not what you are looking for... /sarcasm
  19. The problem with re rolling on another server is ppl losing their much hyped and anticipated legacy system.
