  1. - Get stuck in Christmas traffic - Arrive home late to find you got through the queue early and then AFK'd out before you got home.
  2. I think the queues are less about controlling starter area population as they are about controlling simultaneous players on a server.
  3. I say open guild membership through the TOR website up (I believe it's closed... could be wrong). Then, only allow people to login to high-population servers if: they already have a character there they are members of a guild on that server, but have yet to create a character there That cuts off random people from creating characters on high-pop servers, without locking out first-time players who are already part of a guild.
  4. I'm considering re-rolling tonight. If the queue on Mind Trick is as ridiculous as it has been, I may re-roll to a PvP server. I've already sent an email to my guild suggesting the idea, though my confidence that any server we move to will remain queue free is very low so I'm not sure the point. So we'll spend the majority of our "free" included game time sitting in queues, and then they'll ask us to start paying a monthly fee? At this point, I'm expecting compensation from BioWare once the queues are all sorted, in the form of free game time equivalent to the number of days (post launch) we've had to deal with these queues. If that doesn't happen or the queues aren't solved by the time my 30-day game time runs out, I won't be renewing my subscription, and I'd expect I won't be the only one. Great game so far, but that's not much use if you can't actually play it.
  5. If that's indeed the reason for the queues, it's the most ridiculous concept I've heard of for managing server population. They could easily prevent players from logging into a server they don't have characters on and aren't associated with a guild that's on that server, if they wanted to limit new character creation on high pop servers. Sure some people would complain, but it would be far fewer than the majority of the population having to wait hours to login to the servers they already have levelled characters on. Essentially, if the quoted concept is truly what BioWare/EA is doing, they're pissing off the vast majority of their population for the sole purpose of server balance, where there are far better (and less frustrating) options available.
  6. This is ridiculous. Many people didn't get a choice as to what server they were going to play on as their guilds were pre-populated to specific servers. Now all of those servers have significant wait queues. BioWare/EA: you need to get this sorted, immediately.
  7. The current UI seems too large at high resolutions (on monitors at least). Action bars take up alot of screen real estate for something that should be little more than a reference (mouse clicking is bad, m'kay!) I hope basic UI customization like scaling is added soon. I'm actually quite surprised and disappointed by how little it can currently be customized, especially with how much other MMO's have progressed on that front.
