  1. It was an Electrostaff. There are no Orange Techstaves in-game, because there are no Aim-statted hilts available in game to socket them with.
  2. I levelled completely as Marksman, while my buddy levelled as Engineering. Both seemed to work fine, but ran into issues in different situations.
  3. Yeah, that's true. I have them in storage now that I have her in 50 purples. Just finish off the set with moddables (which aren't hard to find at all... at least on my server) and then get the appropriate modifications.
  4. Yeah, clarification on this would be great, because that's what I had heard as well. So for Marksman (where we're dealing mostly ranged damage) we should be aiming for 108-110% ranged accuracy.
  5. I can't compare to my numbers as I'm at work, but both your crit and accuracy seem low. I'm ~34.5% Crit (unbuffed) on my 31/7/3 build. For accuracy (and I assume those are your Ranged stats you listed), I was under the impression that for bosses the goal is 110%. Assuming that's indeed the case, you'll want to get more accuracy. For reference: I'm in gear with mk23 purple barrels/armorings and mk22 purple mods. My enhancements are all level 50 blues, and all the rest of my gear is level 49 and 50 purples, with the exception of my relics which kindof suck (thanks to the lack of neutral options).
  6. I use SCORPIO most of the time. As Armstech, I made a level 50 purple techstaff with Aim and defensive bonuses. From what I can find, it's the best techstaff available in the game (and it doesn't require heroic or Ooperation BoP drops to make). My buddy is Cybertech and on his sniper. He got all the Aim+Defense purple droid component schematics, and made me a full set for her. Might want to get in contact with a Cybertech and/or armstech and see if you can get the parts made. If your on Mind Trick, feel free to look me up (see my sig).
  7. No, not much at all. Just re-recording the opening line (and some others) of pretty much every NPC in the game.
  8. You'd rather an anarchist who you don't really know if she'll stab you in the back at any moment? Vector is actually a great companion. His combat skill are awesome. I found he killed far faster than Kaliyo, took about the same amount of damage, and could hold aggro pretty well if you told him to attack right before you queue up your opener.
  9. Yeah, I levelled as marksman. Never really had any significant troubles other than on some elites (especially the bouncing-bunny Jedi). The biggest issue with elites I noticed was that many of them you face after conversations, putting you far to close and without cover from your target. That, and you pretty much have to resign yourself to the fact that your companion will drop between 50-30% of the target's health, and you'll have to solo the end of the fight. Downtime for heals is common on any class unless you're playing with a healer companion (or are yourself a healer). I found I'd have to heal Vector for maybe 4-5 sec on most pulls. Not that big a deal, though it's definitely not the non-stop combat I can do with my Marauder with Quinn out. For note: I dropped Kaliyo like a sack of potatoes as soon as I got Vector and never looked back. I only pulled her out for the most difficult elite fights where I needed her extra threat generation. Otherwise, Vector killed far faster, lived at least as long, and could hold aggro surprisingly well if you sent him in before opening up.
  10. When I was playing my Imperial Sniper, I thought this would be a helpful benefit to the game. Now that I'm playing a Marauder, I think this is an absolute necessity.
  11. ...and don't require BoP ops items to make. From what I've discovered, there doesn't appear to be a single orange weapon that Armstechs can make without running hard mode or ops for BoP materials. While they're at it... how about fixing Vibroknives so they can actually be RE'd for improved schematics.
  12. Castellia Drogunis No title. I'm a ghost, so why would I go by anything other than a name. If I could, I'd use a pseudonym, but alas that option doesn't exist. As it stands, I'm not sure why everyone I come across knows I'm an agent.
  13. I just picked up a Ten-Kilometer Killer off the GTN last night, as I was looking for something better looking than what I had: http://tor.zamimg.com/torhead/uploads/images/11236.jpg Cost me a fortune to move my mods over.
  14. I found the complete opposite. She's an anarchist. She's at odds with most of what I do, as believe in the empire (otherwise, why would I have joining Imperial Intelligence), and believe there's reason for rule of law. I found her a horrible fit for the Imperial Agent, especially as the first companion you get and one which you're stuck with for so long. As for her combat ability, she was OK until the mid-20s, where her survivability started to drop sharply. By the time I got Vector, I couldn't wait to drop her for him, as she was dieing every other fight (or coming darn close) despite my keeping her well geared in blue defence gear. For the most part I stuck with Vector through the rest of the game, until I picked up SCORPIO and got her geared.
  15. OK. I just noticed that in my inventory I have large piles of Durasteel and Zal Alloy that I didn't have last night. So it appears as if at least 2 of my Scavenging missions succeeded but were reported as failures. I've filed a ticket, but this appears to be a UI bug rather than actual failures, which is good at least.
  16. I have noticed what appears to be an issue with purchased crew skill missions, and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this: On numerous occassions I have purchased purple crew skill missions from the GTN for either Investigation of Scavenging on my Agent (I am an Armstech will all 3 skills at 400). I often buy a quantity of these missions, and then send my companions on these missions en-masse before logging out for the night. What I have noticed with surprising consitency, is that when I next login, if the first mission report comes back as a failure, all of them will report as failures. Additionally, all mission return dialogs will have the same companion name listed as the one who failed the mission. This morning this occurred to me. I had sent 3 companions (Kaliyo, Vector, and SCORPIO - all with high reputation levels) on purple 340 Scavenging missions. When i logged on this morning, I had three mission reports awaiting me. The first stated that SCORPIO had failed the mission... as did the second and third reports. I realize there is a chance of failure in any crew skill mission, but it seems oddly consistent that if the first mission report of several pending comes back as a failure specifically on GTN purchased missions, all of them will return as such.
  17. Yup, Vendetta is different. The Vendetta headpiece is completely different (it's sunglasses with a techy chin strap), and the colouring isn't the same (far more black, no red lights). Here's the Vendetta gear - http://www.torhead.com/search/vendetta. I have the Vendetta chestpiece and gloves, and have tried to approximate the progression video look as best as possible (not bad, but still not the same): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2534683/Images/Castellia%20-%20Vendetta%20b01.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2534683/Images/Castellia%20-%20Vendetta%20b02.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2534683/Images/Castellia%20-%20Vendetta%20b03.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2534683/Images/Castellia%20-%20Vendetta%20b04.jpg The TH-16A Master Medic Headgear (http://www.torhead.com/item/gQdsSFN/th-16a-master-medic-headgear) Is the closest I've been able to find. It's grey (not white), but does the job (see above screenshots). It's a random world drop, pre-socketed, level 46.
  18. Got the headgear (came up on the GTN the other day). So here's my current outfit: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2534683/Images/Castellia%20-%20Vendetta%20b01.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2534683/Images/Castellia%20-%20Vendetta%20b02.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2534683/Images/Castellia%20-%20Vendetta%20b03.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2534683/Images/Castellia%20-%20Vendetta%20b04.jpg As for the actual pieces (if people are interested): TH-16A Master Medic Headgear RD-07A Vendetta Jacket RD-07A Vendetta Gloves Civilian Pilot Belt Hammer Lookout's Pants RD-04B Sharpshooter Boots Overkill Bonded Mesh Armguards Hammer Deadeye Exterminator (sniper rifle) I'm going to try to get a better looking belt, but as the price of custom belts on the GTN on Mind Trick are 200K and up, I'll likely stick with the Pilot's Belt for a while. Wouldn't mind a cooler looking rifle, either.
  19. Here's some screens of the set I've built up: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2534683/Images/Castellia%20-%20Vendetta%20b01.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2534683/Images/Castellia%20-%20Vendetta%20b02.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2534683/Images/Castellia%20-%20Vendetta%20b03.jpg As for the actual pieces: TH-16A Master Medic Headgear RD-07A Vendetta Jacket RD-07A Vendetta Gloves Civilian Pilot Belt Hammer Lookout's Pants RD-04B Sharpshooter Boots Overkill Bonded Mesh Armguards The belt is not ideal for the standpoint of looks, but it's an orange belt that has far better stats with mods than any purple I've come across. If I ever see the Vendetta Belt and have more than 200K to spare (unlikely) I may pick it up.
  20. I take it your wondering about the white full armor shown in the last sequence of the video (starting around the 2:05 mark)? If so, that exact set doesn't currently exist in-game. However, there's a variation on it that looks similar with more black in the suit and no red lights. It's mostly random world drop custom items, with a few that appear to be crafted (belt and bracers). It's the orange Vendetta set, here: http://www.torhead.com/search/vendetta] The helm in that set is not the same as the video, but you can find one that is similar to the video with the TH-16A Master Medic Headgear (http://www.torhead.com/item/gQdsSFN/th-16a-master-medic-headgear), which you can find on the GTN. I've recently assembled a set that looks a fair deal like the progression video set. I'll post screenshots shortly.
  21. Yeah, there's a few differences, but they're pretty close (the video chest has an additional white plate under the arms where Vendetta has black and no plate, and the video set also has the lights). The legs, boots and gloves in the Vendetta set are mostly black (which I've gotten around - on the legs at least - by wearing the the Hammer Lookout's Pants). Still want the helmet in white (apparently TH-16A Master Medic Headgear is pretty much it... if you can find it), and would love those boots in white.
  22. If you're talking the one at the end of that video (a white helmet with full face cover), I'm not sure if it's in game. I've seen a red version of that helmet on the GTN fairly regularly (it's custom gear, levelled somewhere in the 40s). I do know that armor in that part of the videos isn't in game as far as anyone's found. Though the Vendetta chestpiece is a great-looking alternative.
  23. As a sniper who recently specced to Lethality and now rarely uses cover, I agree that removing the cover requirement would be nice.
  24. Hey guys, feel free to thread explode all over the "Operative" forum, but can you keep the general "Imperial Agent" forum explosion free. Your issues are not general agent issues, which is what this forum is for.
  25. Those of you complaining do realize it takes time to fix things, right? You also realize that every one of the 16 other classes has complaints, in addition to the general issues, crew skill issues, mission issues, etc. that people complain about? Also, game balancing is a constant process (look at WoW... how many years and still tweaking). This game has been available for what, 7 weeks. Come back on here and make posts like this when you've gone a year with the same issues and BioWare hasn't said boo about them (happened alot in WoW).
