  1. LOL, thank you for this one, gave me a good laugh.
  2. Except that isn't what they did. They exploited until they where caught, and then said, oh, well we where just showcasing how easy it was to do so it got fixed....
  3. Holy Necro Batman, not sure if you noticed, but this thread was from back at release.
  4. I'm imrpessed this damn thread is still going. This has to be one of the most successful trolls in the history of trolldom. If the troll was really charging for access to this bridge he would be living in a castle by now.
  5. I also suppose, PVP'ers wanting to optimize their gear, should have to raid to get the mats, correct? Since only raiders need to optimize their gear? No one else has any reason at all for maximizing their stat pools to best match their playstyle/specs?
  6. People using the incorrect terms is the very reason why tech support for any kind of product has such a hard freaking time diagnosing someone's problem. Lag/Latency vs Framerate issues is one that simply drives me to wanting to flip a desk. The term lag was adopted because it was an accurate description of what was going on, you where lagging behind the server, or vise versa. This can be caused by the server having a heart attack, it could be caused by your ISP having an epileptic seizure, or it could be because somewhere along the route your modem has decided to wander down to connect to the server has decided to throw up roadblocks. This has NOTHING to do with the engine, it has nothing to do with your graphics card, those two however can contribute to one of the most common issues that people seem to think is lag, which is really frame rate loss. Common symptoms include a slide show esque presentation of the current application, if the loss is really bad, or simply a feeling like something is off, and possible causing eye strain, due to dipping down into the low 20's fps, to high 15 fps. SWTOR is famous for the latter, the previous however is all to common with all online games and can be adversely effected by the time you tend to play.
  7. No clue, but he has to have the coolest "legacy" name in the game.
  8. I too hope he can pull off Star Citizen, however I worked at Digital Anvil, his company in 2000, and he single handedly killed that company through misuse of company funds. I will not be supporting him with my money till I see something tangible, with a solid release date. Till then this is nothing more then smoke and mirrors, and that is coming from someone who was a huge Chris Roberts fan. I loved the Wing Commander and Privateer series. I hated testing Sleeplancer, I mean Freelancer, which at the time I worked there was already in year 5 of development, way over budget and still came out as a half finished product, with nice space physics.
  9. You're right, it is binary coded hexidecimal, sorry for the incorrect label earlier. It is however very harsh, that I do agree with. However I am tired of the OP constantly sticking his head in the sand when he has been proven wrong so many times. I do not have a degree in programming, but I do have one in hardware, Computer and Electronics Engineering, and even I know what he is asking, while not impossible, is so far outside of the reasonable it will never happen. Basic econ, a course I know I was required to take, proves why it is not going to happen.
  10. You can dislike her all you want, but in this instance s/he is absolutly correct about the processes. If the issue does not block the vast majority of players from actually playing the game, but is serious enough to be patched as soon as possible, it will be handled by an EP, or Emergency Patch. I would be willing to bet dollars to donuts this is the route Bioware will take.
  11. OP, you seem to like binary so here is some BCD, with a special message inside just for you if you can decode it. If you have problems I might give you a hint later. 0100 0100 0110 1001 0110 0101 0010 1100 0010 0000 0110 1001 0110 1110 0010 0000 0110 0001 0010 0000 0110 0110 0110 1001 0111 0010 0110 0101 0010 0001 0010 0001 0010 0001.
  12. First off, thank you OP for the 2 hours of enjoyment I recieved from reading this outstanding thread. I have never seen someone as stubborn as you in refusing to admit they are wrong. Heck, my wife swears I never admit when I am wrong, she's wrong on this of course, since I am never wrong, not even that one time I thought I was wrong, I was simply mistaken, I was actually right. You however, good sir, take this to an extreme, and for that I thank you. Now, for my one bit of nitpicking, Mr.OP, why is it you failed to notice that was a rendering of Nar Shadda from the 1997 Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II game, and not SW:TOR? In that video you also saw ZERO engine work. What you saw was a rendering of what the game COULD look like, not what how it could RUN. That is a huge difference.
  13. Bioware's HQ is not in Texas, it's still in Edmonton....as has been stated the west coast servers are in San Fran, the east coast, no clue, but if I had to guess I would say somewhere in Viginia. The Bioware Texas branch is located in Austin, along with several other EA studios.
  14. Please tell me I am not the only one who about fell out his chair laughing when Doc asked the botting Juggernaut, "Did you not notice my jedi friend?" as the bot continued ignoring the jedi attacking him? That was frankly priceless as far as I am concerned.
  15. Oh the joy of being able to slap my CC's for 999 seconds at a stretch, using the Pureblood social ability on any character, that would be outstanding. /supported
  16. Not to be condescending but if you don't like the content, and apparently many do, there are several other planets with dailies that you can run. Not all content added will be aimed/directed at you specifically. This particular place was obviously designed with pvp in mind, if that is not your cup of tea, simply pass on it or wait till the mob of content vultures have moved on, and run the dailies at that time. Claiming something was designed horribly because YOU did not/do not enjoy it, does not mean it actually was designed poorly, oh, and please enough with the Blizzard attacks, that company put MMO gaming on the map, it has single handedly changed the face of online gaming. Again YOU may not like them, I personally have not played WoW since before the first expansion, your opionion DOES NOT mean what they produce is terrible, awful or trash. It is no dfiferent then people claiming everyone who plays Call of Duty are simply 12 year old children with no taste in games and obviously have no taste. Broad generalizations and opionion peices are not facts on why something is broken.;
  17. You would still need access to a seperate machine since you can not run multiple instances of SW:TOR at the same time on the same computer. However if you have access to a seperate computer that is an absolutly viable tactic.
  18. I used seventy-one lures over two and a half hours, fifteen data drops gathered. That is a 21.12676056338028% spawn/drop rate, which is exactly 1.12676056338028% higher chance then the give 20% chance. I would say it is right on target, and if you somehow fed taun fawns for four hours with zero data drops you are either lying, or as others have suggested, you fed something else for four hours.
  19. And on top of the necro he ignored the intent of the thread, the STAP now does scale with the speeder piloting of it's owner. I am once again cruising the game on my collector's edition STAP.
  20. Until you enter the actual code for the game that entitles you to 30 free days, you can not access those items would be my guess. You should however have access to your pre-order crystal.
