  1. "This large"? All we know about it at this point is that it's a single new quest zone and a modest level increase. If it weren't for the level increase, there would be no differentiation between it and the standard major content patch that MMO games tend to get twice a year or so. The reason expansions for other games tend to cost ~40 is because they actually add significant features to the game, like classes, races, crafting skills, etc. We have no reason to believe that ROHTC will have anything like that.
  2. Those expansions also tend to add major new game mechanics, such as additional classes/races/trade skills, alternative advancement activities, all of which help justify their price. We don't know enough about this expansion to really have any idea how good of a deal $10 is or isn't.
  3. It's in patch 1.6 on the Test server, not in live game yet. You get a quest at 50 that ultimately nets you 99 Tionese coms, which is 1 com short of a full Tionese set with the reduced costs coming in 1.6
  4. P5 can't compete with Fatman because Fatman is a far better name.
  5. PS and TM always generated 16 heat when spec'd right. This patch didn't change that.
  6. Yeah, it's kind of a drag. I immediately turn off sith corruption on any sith and chiss characters I have, because it really looks pretty terrible on them.
  7. Chiss bounty hunters aren't british. Why would Chiss Smugglers be?
  8. You know what's sad? While reading that well thought-out, fairly insightful post, I knew before scrolling down that the first few replies would be nothing more than the standard head-in-the sand "nuh uh shut up/ok quit then" drivel that is so prevalent in any thread that has the audacity to bring up legitimate concerns and criticisms about the game. Get it together, ToR community.
  9. I'm embarrassed at how hard that made me laugh.
  10. "Lord Tywin Lannister" is one of my favorites.
  11. I'm pretty happy about racial unlocks being tied to your level 50 characters. My one level 50 is a chiss bounty hunter, and my main hope with the legacy race options was making a Chiss sorceror. Looks like I'm good to go.
  12. The answer to the original question is yes. Dual spec is fair to pure damage classes. Glad we got that settled.
  13. I find it absolutely marvelous that some people are totally dismissive of the EU and claim the movies are the only lore that matters, while discussing changes to a game that s entirely based on and set in the EU It is truly hilarious.
  14. Alignment-restricted color crystals was an absolutely atrocious idea in the first place, so I'm quite glad Bioware has come to their senses sooner rather than later. People who are seriously bothered by the fact that they will now see Sith with green lightsabers really just need to get over it. If something like that has enough of an impact on you to significantly effect your enjoyment of the game, then I don't know what to tell you.
  15. I don't understand that at all. How is something "an external role" if it is just one of the other specs available to your AC? There's nothing "external" about it.
  16. Add this to the guardian stances: While in this stance, (companion) is healed for (x%) of the damage you deal Tweak % to optimal. Boom, tank companions aren't worthlessly squishy for DPS specs anymore. It could even be made into an entirely new stance, lets call it "Martyr" stance, that also reduces normal healing received so the companion isn't getting the full benefit of healing spec heals and healing from player damage.
  17. If I can't make a Chiss Sith character in March I am gonna be so bummed. I know nothing is confirmed at this point, but if Chiss inquisitor and/or warrior isn't one of the legacy unlocked combos than Bioware is doing it wrong to a tremendous level.
  18. The actual alignment restriction of color crystals makes me facepalm far more than seeing a Sith with blue or a jedi with red. I was strongly opposed to the idea of limiting color choices when it got introduced in Beta and nothing has happened to cause me to change my mind.
  19. I'm very happy with the option to display cooldown timers on individual abilities. A mod that provided that functionality was one of my most used/"necessary" mods in warcraft.
  20. I was immediately kind of irritated by it, but after questing for a bit I got used to it. I wouldn't really consider it an improvement, but it doesn't really bother me. I guess I'm firmly in option 3.
  21. Err, your spoiler is incorrect. Skadge is not a rival bounty hunter. He is a criminal who hates your target and wants to kill him for his own reasons.
  22. Just happened to me twice in a row, and went to the forums to see if it's a common issue. So it looks like I should just keep trying? Ugh.
  23. Well I actually do agree with him in that tank companions are not very frequently worth using, and part of that is actually because heavy armor by itself isn't very impressive; it's the tank stance armor boosts that give the real damage boost. Because tank companions don't get that boost, a healing companion is almost always the more effective choice. But accross classes, a healing companion is a healing companion. Mako isn't noticeably squishier than a healer companion in heavy armor, because the actual difference in damage reduction is quite low.
