  2. It is getting out of hand. The server forums are unusable now. At some point forum mods stopped moving guild recruitment thread to the guild recruitment section, and everyone realized it. Now every single thread on the main page of the server forums is spam about guild recruitment or "LF group". FIX IT.

  4. The 4-piece and the 6-piece are kind of lackluster for Ruffian. Energy management is too easy for the 4-piece to matter, and you use Brutal Shots so many times in a minute, that one being an autocrit is pretty meaningless. Maybe make Point Blank Shot be the autocrit?
  5. Any change to Quickdraw energy for Dirty Fighting should be in the Dirty Fighting discipline and not tied to a set bonus. Quickdraw energy is largely irrelevant in the other two specs. There is no need to replace a useful set bonus for two specs with one that is not useful, just to help one spec.
  6. No, proper APM in Sharpshooter is 40-42. Anything higher than that is because people bounce in and out of cover during parses for the instant Charged Burst. That does nothing for dps, but infates your APM. It is not a bad starting point. I would switch to the 1m or the 1.5m dummy to get a better idea of your actual sustained damage. At that gear level you shouldn't be expecting to do much better than that. I would run some SM stuff and get up to 192 level to see where you stand dps-wise.

  8. That is true, and it goes to show that balance does not revolve solely around group ranked, as much as people want it to. Engineering and Virulence do not deserve to be gimped in all pvp because Marksmen does well in one area of pvp. The argument that keeps coming up that snipers are fine and need no changes because Marksmen does well in group is just bull****.
  9. Snipers are garbage in group ranked if you are not specced marksman. That is not balanced.
  10. I feel like people play up the ability stop caps with Plasma Probe way too much. It is certainly not as much of an advantage as people make it out to be. In reality any class/spec is able to stop or delay caps as long as they are alive. It might be slightly easier on Engineering, but I don't think that makes up for its deficencies. On MM, without spamming Sweeping Gunfire, I'm going to do anywhere from 1500-2000 single target dps in a decent match. On Engineering going all out on aoe damage, I'd be happy to hit the low end of that. Even with its weak dots Virulence puts out better aoe pressure, as it doesn't require enemies being on top of eachother. I just don't see where Engineering fits into the current meta in pvp. I would go so far as to say it is the worst overall spec in pvp currently based on my experience.
  11. What kind of output do you usually pull in a typical reg match? I've only done a few since 3.0 but I'm usually about 30%-50% behind what I would be doing in MM. The whole spec just feels so gimped since 3.0.

  13. This is such a non-issue. All melee have to do is step outside the circle. Or just ignore it and have a 50/50 chance of hitting through it. When you compare this to Obfuscate, Diversion is inferior. If anything they should take it off the GCD. The only class it is op against is other snipers and gunslingers.
  14. Go and play Virulence in any area of pvp, then come back and tell me this isn't total bullsh*t. There is only one spec that does well in pvp.
  15. I've really started to notice a lot of failed Leg Shots lately, even without cooldowns up. Unlikely but a good change would be to make Leg Shot unable to be resisted, parried, or dodged. The only time it should not root someone is if they have an immunity up or full resolve.

  17. The idiot lemmings who transfer servers twice a week are the reason we can't have cross server. Bioware absolutely has the ability to make cross server happen. They never will as long as in means they will lose revenue in Cartel Coin sales from server transfers. Pretty unbelievable how ignorant this is. None but the most populated servers can get even close to that in queue times. Most nights we are lucky if it even pops at all.
  18. You still are missing the point. Only 1/3 disciplines functions in group ranked. The other two specs are neutered in regs and 4s. People like you who don't really know what they are talking about keep saying things like "that one guy I saw does well in group so snipers are fine." Most of these people say that blindly without giving a single thought to the changes being discussed.
  19. This is absolutely true. People keep arguing that snipers are fine in group so they are fine overall. In a perfect game balance would not be around solo rated. This is not a perfect game, and the game developers have given no indication that they are doing anything to improve the brokenness of the solo queue. Individual servers do not have the pvp population support restrictions to team composition. A lot of servers don't even have the opportunity to do group ranked because of the population issues. Cross server should have happened years ago, and at this point its safe to say it never will happen. If there was any indication that some fix to 4v4 dps solo queue matches was coming, then and only then could you make that argument. Since this is the system we are stuck with, all classes should have some measure of viability in that area. A good number of the utilities snipers have are just useless. They do not measure up in any way to the options other classes have. Improving those utilities in favor of slightly more survivability is not going to have a noticeable impact on group ranked.

  21. That can happen if 1 or more players open from stealth. Popping it early isn't always the best thing to do, as good players will just wait it out. And if they stagger their stuns you can be in the uncomfortable postiton of potentially having to break early to survive.
  22. Grats on your lowbie tab dot match on a twinked out character against people that have no idea what they are doing. This means literally nothing.

You used to be able to put actual pressure on the other team in 2.0 with your dots. 3.0 nerfed them pretty hard and buffed aoe heals to the point that you really are just doing fluff damage instead of putting pressure on the healer. In addition the loss of Explosive Probe took the sting out of single target dps.
