  1. I think most of the high end rigs in this thread are built. Mine is, by me. Talking about basic PC tweaking with reducing apps is basic stuff. Im sure most of the chaps in this thread know how to run thier PCs and about resource managment. But this only really applies to low end systems m8. High end rigs with multi cores and massive amount of memory shouldnt hinder with extra apps running mimimal resources. Good advise though to those will low end systems.
  2. Actually its a typo, I have 16gig. MMOs dont use much in terms of tranfer data. Go to ilum and check out your transfer rate. Not much higher then a stood on the fleet or in the world. My net is fine and dandy. Ping of 45 on ilum which is tiptop for gaming.
  3. Ok, here goes for the hardware and upgrading. Built my own rig after using a laptop Rig - Asrock Z68 Extreme4 gen 3 mobo XFX ATI 7970 Black edition 3.5 2700k @4.6 16gb Corsair Vengramce ram 1600 HERE - http://youtu.be/F2BSMSc3Anc This is what the system is build around, I have SSD drives, everything running smooth as a nut in everything Except ilum Trust me, an upgrade is not needed. And to say ive been building PCs before most of you lot got to school Its not my system. Anyway, I understand engines need to to mature. But this "it must be your system" is crazy when the fact is, ilum is gimped. Everyone knows this.
  4. I totally understand. Im not moaning in anyway. I know engines take time to become a companies own product. I know its gonna take time with BW to optimize this engine. I know this. Im just pointing out. Its easy to say "it must be your computer" when none of these posts have posted a video of there system running a massive open world PVP battle which has a high end frame rate. And i doubt they will! But we see video after video posted of bad framerates. Yet no highend framerates from battles. Maybe some of these ghuys who can go to ilum PVP area without a FPS hit will post some proof.
  5. Oh she runs sweet, I have nothing running apart from ventrilo when gaming, MS security, my razer naga epic software. And my Corsair vengance k90 software. I know PCs and hardware, nothing is running which taking up resources, 16gig, 2700k. that must be some resource junkie if you think my system would take a hit, But nothing is running. The engine has been noted that it doesnt do the job that it should. In pvp situations. All this "it must be your system" is crazy when all the videos flood in, stories of highend systems having issues. No MMO should be hit and miss in the preformance state. And the only thing which does this is when a game is not fully optimised. which is the engine in this case. I have seen many videos of open world massive battles with FPS issues, But not one with a fluid high framerate. Im still waiting!
  6. So your tell me, both them systems when on ilum. in a big open world battle with more then 40ish people dont drop at all? My game runs plus 100 fps in all situations. Ilum in a PVP battle with everything maxed at 1080. it drops to around 20. This is not a PC issue as if it was, I would have that hit in FPS all the time. But i dont, Only when in an open world battle which iluim is designed for. The engine should be able to cope with massive amounts of people in one place. But it cant, hence the drop in FPS. Yeh. my system runs battlefield 64man server over 100fps. but on ilum with 40 people.. lol Yeh sure, its my computer! Like i say, until people post actually hard evidence on there setups. there records on ilum in open world battles. Its just say so. bragging rights and fanbosim. Also, Take note that the devs have already noiticed this. switching off the guns on ilum to help the strain on the client. As intended lol. sure - http://youtu.be/kANlLkko96E
  7. Checking videos now. its all battlefield and that minecraft game. Nothing about TOR apart from a bug int he story. Nothing on massive open world battles. Buy the way, This so-called vid, it is in a big battle yes? When you get chance. Post direct link to this vid.
  8. LOL - Kid, its the engine, I have a 2700k @4.6 system with an XFX 7970 black edition. 16gb of corsair vengane memory, win7 64bit. When i go to illum (PVP area) id be lucky to get 20fps. Its the engine. Im not sure if you know about PCs, from your post, I doubt it, But a ATI 7970 and a 2700k should be able to eat up anything this game has to offer. Anyway.... Stop been a fanboy! this is a major problem. What I would like you to do now is go to ilum, record your gameplay on fraps. Come back here and post the link to the video. Prove us all wrong ! Anyone who says its fine. record your gameplay and post back here.
  9. One rule for everyone. lets get that straight right off the bat. Money sinks are needed, Respecing is a big money sink in MMOs and have been around since the birth of MMOs. It also encourages people to play there spec, it is a trinity based MMO afterall. Without such money sinks. Players would have too much money, charge high prices for items which destroys the economy for the new up and coming players. This is why we have small costs for flight, repairs, respecs etc. money sinks, which are very much needed in MMOs.
  10. These sorts of things should be in the game without the need for money. We pay for this game already. So vanity items or cosmetic should be all gained through playing the game. Not diving into ones wallet. If TOR goes down this route, Im sure many will move on. They get enough money from us each month, asking for more on an item which we should be able to get without the need for more money is just plain and simply greedy.
  11. If you have done this more then once, There is an option in preferences, maybe in UI? It flashes up a warning on screen before the transation goes through, you have to select "ok". I suggest you find it and switch it on.
  12. I tried to record a video of it on my alt in Alderaan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=-8JJzblcCvI#t=375s Its annoying as hell, even in a closed enviroment like a warzones, The engine still cuts down the veiwing distance.
  13. When i first played the game. I played it on a laptop 2.0gig DC2. I had all the graphcs turned to minimum. So trimmings like grass foliage and draw distance was never an issue, as i never used them. Now I have a new rig, i7 2700k. ATI 7970 and all the bells and whistles. So i run everything on max. I get over 100fps on normal situations, questing, flashpoints and operations. Ilum and WZ are still gimped though. Not going into that as we all know the issues. Anyhow, The grass. I have everything to maximum, but i still see the grass drawing into frame about 20metres ahead of me. Is there anyway to get the grass to draw everything in view. Or is this another limitation to the gaming engine.
  14. Having a different set of gear for each mode is a good idea. Limiting the game to one set of gear which does both PVP and PVE is a bad idea. More gear to grind for = WIN WIN
  15. I dont get it, Why are so many people so against in-game combat logs. If you like casual gameplay, Dont join a hardcore guild. Join a casual guild. If you get rejected into a group. Just remember, your playstyle IS casual and not everyone is a casual player. Pugging, If a raid leader says your gear is not enough for set raid. Thats fine, work to get better gear for that instance. Guilds, Its part of the fun been a DPS in a guild. Battling with friends for the top DPS spot of the guild. I can see some of you havent experienced this, you tie this competition with been rejected in a pug. Competition, its a good thing. Its a competitive game, in all aspecs. DPS tables, PVP, healing tables. Alot of these ties to in-game mechanics, Such as DPS with enrage timers. Combat timers would help those not beating the enraged timers. People should have the right to play how they feel. If a guild or raid leader wants a set gear standard for his group of guild. Fine, give him the tools to do so. If a casual who wants to play casual and not have to worry about maximum DPS when he/she plays. Fine. Find people of with a simaler gaming style and go about your day. Having combat logs does not hinder your gaming style. Its only when the casuals try to cross paths with those hardcore players. But then the casual trys to diminish the hardcores style because he didnt get picked due to his style of play which is casual. Crazy! WE NEED IN-GAME COMABT LOGS
  16. Vista uses more cpu resources then 7. This is the reason people will say use vista over 7 as it frees up resources which will help your pc run better. Vista is ok, but its no 7
  17. Maybe try reading the threads and you will see these posts are about a poorly optimised gaming engine. Simple Not movies or what not! Not sure if your a console troll or someone who doesnt have any idea about PC gaming. Anyway, its obvious you are clueless so ill leave it that!
  18. This is about a planet which sells world PVP which cant do this due to the poorly optimised engine. This is not a FPS loving thread, this is about a gaming engine which is not working as intended. When we can have massive open world battles on a planet created for such events. It should work. PVPing when you have laggy choppy framerates is not gonna pull in new subs as then it becomes an awful exprerience. Gaming and movies are two completely different entities. Gaming, you control and feel the framerates. Movies you just watch! A big difference!
  19. LOL its the engine, My god what other MMO or game has this many people with FPS issues. I upped my system two weeks ago i7 2700k stock Asrock Extreme 4 Gen 3 ATI 7970 black edition 16gig Corsair vengance SSD OZ 128gb Win7 The game runs fine in most cases, leveling, flashpoints etc. But... The same as my old system, when i get to Ilum it drops below 30 fps in a big battle WZ, Alderaan, When the turrets start firing, the framerates drop below half. This happens to everyone in my guild, and the 2 systems I have run this game on. Second system should eat this game up and spit it out. First system was minimum spec. Ive mingled with drivers, clock speeds and settings, Nothing works. Its the engine m8! Prove me wrong, get in a big ilum battle and post a video.
  20. You pick a trinity based MMO and then complain you cant play every roll?
  21. From 3mins in, your framerate drops, Just like I experience. This video does not show great FPS on ilum.
