  1. I never liked the idea of exclusive to Cash Shop items, but that`s how it is. As for your OP, I "farmed" once for the ONLY weapon I wanted from a FP: http://www.torhead.com/item/3Q3gkil/tral-tech-interceptor. Got one and wanted another for my Mercenary. It took 3 more runs to get one more gun drop to finish her looks. This is what your proposal means - precisely 3 more runs for me. While, as it is right now, it means money for Bioware, either via sub for free coins or bought coins, or players running dailies / weeklies / playing the GTN for cash to buy it. I don`t like Bioware too much and that is no secret, but they offer more content in regards to your proposal.
  2. @OP - the legacy gear from the legacy vendors is class bound and was used before to ferry mods over. If you want universal gear, you have plenty of options and one is just at reach, with ongoing Bounty Event - get tokens and buy the legacy gear from that vendor - that is universal gear. Also, ALL the new Legacy gear is universal these days, so I really fail to see what your problem is.
  3. QFT. There isn`t and never has been a problem with the existing system past the player that refuses to level one more toon. You see, it is simpler to have two toons on each faction: one tank / dps and one dps / healer and switch and swap at will, with legacy respec and all than to change all classes without any real gain. Because you aren`t gaining anything past your own agenda, OP. Get leveling and complain less would be my advice, since this will never happen - your idea - which is a good thing. ______________________________ I could agree that I am wrong IF you can prove to me that your system is simpler than Bioware`s - leveling a toon takes time, which costs monthly revenue, or a char slot, or some armor that might need dyes and ultimately inflates those starter world numbers so the game looks really alive and, ultimately, takes no effort whatsoever on their part.
  4. I don`t like it neither, but you CAN buy the whole set. It is overly overpriced, but you CAN, just as you can buy about anything on GTN, with VERY FEW exceptions. You`re just trying to lobby because you can`t afford it - either by gambling on packs, or direct buy from GTN.
  5. SO, if I use only the starter ships and refuse to buy more from the CM, or just starting, am I a F2P?
  6. Loading times are horrible on planets. And you start to appreciate short loading times when you have multiple toons that you log from and to several times per day. Also, starter worlds are just a cesspit of moronic chat and preteen flirting.. more like trolling and cavemen, but still. I vote to keep the capital worlds just as they are now - avoid ASAP. When this workaround will mean identical loading times for said planets and fleet, we will talk further. Until then, no sir.
  7. "It is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer" - if ONE player gets unjustly abused by a moderator, than that is one too many. Also, volunteers ALWAYS go on power trips and Bioware is too slow to catch and boot their sorry asses before they do more harm than good. At least now we deal only with the actual spammers, not with some lunatic on top of them, which decides to shove down our throat his ideas of how Bioware rules should be read. And with the people watching over the watchers, you would be better off without the latter.
  8. Maybe to a guy with the legacy name "Goldfish". Also, you have gotten something and that is special for you - that should suffice. Now, flash that ePeen elsewhere - it`s gross and it`s far too small. You can measure it as many times as you want, it won`t go above 60 Valor. In the meantime, go play with your Las Vegas Gorilla.... uh, Rancor mount - that should make you stand out in the crowd, if you got it, that is. I`m sure people will kill for a picture next to such a celebrity. As you were.
  9. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=418179 <--- this was done in 2012 to PAID crystal, via merchandise PR, in that case Razer. Yes, to somebody that doesn`t give a crap they look awfully similar. They aren`t identical, however. It has been done before, long before this game turned into a copy printing machine. I didn`t defend it then and I don`t defend it now, but I cannot put an epeen quest above a PAID crystal, sorry. Just thank Bioware for letting your crystal be somewhat unique for 2 whole years.
  10. It was a joke attempt. Oh well... it`s just I don`t understand philanthropy in a game that needs money to buy nice things. To guildies, I could understand, but to strangers is just... CRAZY! Not with seriously rare items that can net you a very good pay.
  11. Uh, you DO know that you CAN inspect a player`s crit / surge / accuracy and such, right? That is ALREADY in the game. BTW, you are confusing gear value with gear rating, or min-maxing with the actual piece of gear. If I have a piece of armor with a 140 armoring and 180 mod and enhancement I`ll have a LOWER armor value than if I`d use a 150, 162, 168 or 180 armoring, but I AM within the gear rating requirement nonetheless, ASSUMING I have 126 armoring with 126 mod and 126 enhancement. Makes no difference what my stats are or would be, since we are not min-maxing for top raids where every point counts, we are just loosely calculating. SO, no, this idea doesn`t add anything new over a quick glance at armorings and mods and doing a rough evaluation. Also, your new 180 / 180 / 180 alacrity heavy piece of gear for a tank WILL be poorer than my 168 / 168 / 168 full of mitigation, just to name ONE case in which your numbers mean nothing. For orange text: That is between the player and the healers, since the armoring ONLY give armor value. If the player is not DPS or healer, makes no difference as long as he doesn`t step into hazards and healers agree to heal him, IF you really want to nitpick. Really?! Rating means only armor value for armorings. Some higher ones are inferior to lower ones if you are looking for your main stat. That is ONE problem. The other is the mods and enhancements, where min-maxing MIGHT ask a lower rating step if you need to drop a certain stat you don`t need - accuracy / alacrity / crit, etc and you can`t find equivalent but are going for percentage targets, like crit rate, surge, accuracy, whatever. So, an 168 might be better than an 180 for what I am trying to do - gain + 100 crit rating over gaining 50 main stat. This is starting to remind me of the idiot in General on Red Eclipse earlier today which was claiming that 156 rated gear is not enough for Weekly Classic Operations. So, a tank with a gear rating of 180!, but with alacrity gear is better than a min-maxed 168, with close to target mitigation stats? Because that is what the OP is asking - GENERAL gear rating, since you already can inspect stats. Or, to answer directly, an 126 full of alacrity is better than an 112 with mitigation stats? You gain NOTHING past the general idea of the average of the ratings, which in practice means zero, as higher rating isn`t necessarily better. [EDIT] And yes, I ran DF and DP in 16m SM with 140 everything, as gear goes and they are rated higher. Was never a problem.
  12. So now everybody that says something in the guild for more than one line each 30 minutes is an attention whore?
  13. Can I buy a Nihilus mask from you and some white and blue core crystals? I promise I`ll give you a fair price = 21k for the whites and blues and about 50k for the mask. You`ll still rip me off a bit, but I`ll manage You see, what you are doing IS a grave mistake.
  14. The crystal will still be there and, frankly, there were bigger fish back in the day, like the scandal with the black green Rackgoul even crystal and Razer crystal. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=418179 . And that one was about marketed products for REAL cash, not some lulz quest only for epeen value. That being said, nobody will take your "achievements" away. But I will always find them ridiculous and that you will never be able to change. Keep flailing your sabers, you`ll just brighten my day! Something about men wearing pink and being excited about it is always irresistible, I guess.
  15. It is redundant, as we all have been to school and can average some numbers. It will only help the idiots and I mean it in the literal sense. I don`t think we are at that point... yet. No need for any extra mechanics to make up for the eye inspection.
  16. PuGs usually talk and decide about loot rolls - the implicit rule is need for what you need and greed for what you don`t need. Sure, you get ninjas, but that is to be expected in PuGs, so just need for what you need and game over. As I said, PuGs are in no way representative for a general rule and should not be used as reasoning for something that is a problem only with strangers. And there is no downtime - a roll is a roll and the time is exactly the same for a player that rolls need or greed.
  17. What`s wrong in just hovering the mouse over your armor and checking for yourself if you are around that average?
  18. Um, not really. You see, I`m not Amish nor part of any cult or religion that asks me to cover ALL skin. This being said, I don`t want my avatars to look like cheap prostitutes neither, or the "trashy" look. You see, I want them to look just "playfully naked", like the Mira set, or the nice and new Casual Vandal, or Unfettered Trench. I can also argue that the Sensuous Dress is too "classy" and we really lack any DECENT day wardrobes, especially ones that show skin in a normal and decent way, not "trashy naked".
  19. How can it be easy if you haven`t tried those two in HM? Also, you have NiM too, so that should keep you busy.
  20. I`m neutral about strangers. I don`t bother them and they usually don`t bother me. I will not go towards your objective or a mission objective you are close by, if you fight mobs close and generally be on my way, letting everybody with their "small bubble". BUT, if you dick around my mission markers and you wait for me to engage mobs so you can run to the objective I am trying to clear, then gloves are off and I will turn into a nuisance for you. Might get a smile, an ignore or rage for a reaction - you brought it onto yourself. Otherwise, stay out of my way and I will stay out of yours. I might sound harsh, but you are a stranger to me, so I ONLY owe you the stranger`s respect - staying out of your way, nothing more. If you ask nicely, I WILL help and sometimes go out of my way, but you need to "sound" nice. But that`s another story.
  21. If you do all weeklies only for the ops, you cap pretty fast on ultimates and elites. From that moment onwards there is little incentive to do anything else. You COULD try the weeklies for "old" ops for basic comms, I guess, but those are only if you need isotope or just selling it. Most "queues" are in general chat now. Sure, you get the occasional tourist that wants to do flashpoints, but, beyond curiosity, there is little incentive to.
  22. 200k IS really cheap and very fast if you would run one daily set, or two. Your unwillingness to buy the gloves doesn`t ask for a change in game mechanics, I`m afraid, just as it won`t change the +41 power crystals that sell for over 1 mil .You either gamble real money for THAT particular drop, or you work a little and earn 200k. You choice, in the end.
  23. ONLY if I can show what I can show. I don`t want everybody to know ALL my characters and I don`t want to be forced to unhook them from my family tree. You`re full of **** and you know it. You are fully aware that, IF you ask at the start of the flashpoint / whatever to not skip, 99% of the players will oblige. It`s when you DEMAND things the whole story could turn ugly for you, yes.
