  1. Why does "R" never work for me? 99% of my attackers come from behind, and a barrel roll and "R" still doesn't seem to bring me the shooter as my primary target Please help. Thanks so much for this thread. Also, I think I blew up a healer drone. Is this possible? Was it enemy or friendly? Can you shoot both, and if so, is it worth it?
  2. LOL. You make me want to roll a pilot on Bastion so I can play with good natured people like you Other than voice comms, is there an advantage? I group queued, but we rarely died at the same time and it was very hard to have any kind of dual support or formation. Granted we were a group of noobs I wish PUGs would at least type a LITTLE text in chat, like PRIMARY target, or B is too defended go to C! etc... In GSF the dead can talk while racing back to battle, and often have a good view of the field. Obviously it's impossible to type when trying to break locks or doing evasive maneuvers under attack... it's also hard to push to talk and explain what's going on when you're spinning and dodging too PS. I sound like R2 when under attack, do you?
  3. THIS ^^ I posted in the suggestion box for world (cross) server Beta test for GSF. All of my chars were on PoT5, and I literally have only 30 min. to play most days, but would love to blow off steam in GSF. I came to the forums and determined our server just doesn't have GSF players. I asked an ace pilot how he got so much experience when it typically takes 1 - 2 hours for a game to pop. He said to try the afternoon times, which is exactly what the OP posted! I rolled a new char on Harbinger, and queue popped in under 2 minutes. AND the game was well balanced/matched, we squeaked out a win with only a few points at the end! It was FUN. Sorry, OP. I've invested some upgrades on PoT5 so I'll try to queue time to time, but looks like Harbinger (and others) are a better bet if you want to FLY. I really do hope they figure out how to do the cross server or open world GSF; people want this SO BAD they would re-roll ships from scratch for it if need be, I'm sure.
  4. I think for completing PVP missions that a CHOICE between a credit case or commendations is fair. PVE dailies at 55 tend to be around 8,300, weeklies, 13k? It's a limited enough thing, but gives some options. Augment 9 kits plus highest level augments and the fee to create runs 159,000 to 179,000 each. The above idea still won't come close to covering the cost of augmenting one new pvp item, but it might help some of the players who like pvp. Good luck! OP, the devs only read the suggestion box under the general discussion area. Might want to post your ideas there.
  5. In battle chat didn't seem that difficult to me, can't understand why it's not used more. Hit return (ship keeps flying in same direction) type fast hit enter, and you're back to ship controls. It's helpful to let the team know which objective is protected or not and if someone's on the tail of a teammate, which you can see at a distance.
  6. Subscribers got an extra starter ship 3 ships vs. 2. Unless it was a veterans reward? What exactly subscribers get vs. F2P is not laid out very clearly. It's irrelevant to wanting a cross server log-in for subscribers to test, and if it's great, then they can add it to general population.
  7. I know it's horrible, but did you hit the "?" button in your Hangar view to at least practice with the still targets? I found that many of my friends hating on GSF didn't even know about the limited tutorial. There is much that is different from the original space missions.
  8. Thank you. I appreciate the detailed honest answer. "They're NOT all dead, Dave!" (If you recognize this, you are way too cool)
  9. I was all wicked using concussion missiles, then thought I'd get cocky and "upgrade" to photon torpedoes. I could not in 2 games get a single torp to actually hit the target, IF I could get it out of its bay at all! Offer a noob pilot some pity and advice here please, bump my threads in the Suggestion box for better training (and cross world) for GSF, and I might work to become an ace and join your team one day! I just spent my last 1000 points upgrading the concussions for now... this is the actual secret to nasty ship right? Go with the defaults and upgrade THOSE, leave the fancier sounding stuff alone? Thanks <3
  10. I gave this thread 5 stars. I don't have a problem (yet) as a noob with the explosions, but this is by far one of the best threads I've read on these forums! GREAT read! Good luck!
  11. I would love to join a guild called "GSF University" (free idea from that other space MMO Harbinger is heavy on pilots then? Are the 2 sides pub vs imp balanced? What time of day is most popular? I'm seriously considering a pilot only character on another Server. Mine is hyper for on foot pvp, but space pvp is nearly dead. Thanks!
  12. I put something like this in the Suggestion Box. Feel free to search Galactic and suggestion box to add to the developer interest for this!
  13. They should make mines and bombs shootable targets, longer lock time maybe for mines, so you risk getting a gunner up your tailpipe!!! (yes, I tried to blow up a mine hehe ) I had the most fun one on one where we torped each other head on at the same time today. Hey, I was a former Eve player! Not having to refit a ship is like HEAVEN.
  14. What server are you talking about? I agree with you, I never quit even if I'm teamed with noobs, instead offering helpful advice is a better option. Yes, you can chat more when you are clearly losing. L33t can look even cooler by passing on their secrets! Be cool, don't quit. Otherwise your teammates will think you're 12 and your mom called you to take out the trash
