Issue with the Launcher and Intel i7-12700k

I found a workaround for the intel CPU glitch, initially the launcher wouldn't work with my i7-13700KF and I was getting an error when trying to click the PLAY button.

So I installed the Steam version of the client, which worked, but I didn't want to have to open Steam every time I wanted to play SWTOR, so I copied the Steam installation directory to a different directory, then told the regular SWTOR launcher the installation location, ran a repair and miraculously it worked.

Makes me think the issue is something with an .ini file or something and not actually a CPU issue, but it only affects intel CPU's so...

My direct download launcher on my older system no longer starts either now. It seems to me that the devs simply dropped support for the direct download launcher. Let's see if I can bring it to life with the repair workaround suggested in some thread somewhere as it worked for the new system at least. Strangely, that is not mentioned in the launcher troubleshooting article, only in some forum post drowning out there...

Nope, the repair utility did not work this time. For the record, this is the link: https://cdn-www.swtor.com/sites/all/files/webassets/launcher/LauncherRepairUtilityU2021.0.25.exe

that repair utility will break the launcher , will arrange for that file to be deleted , if you want to refresh the launcher files run the setup over the top of the install https://swtor-a.akamaihd.net/installer/SWTOR_setup.exe

Sorry about that, the link I used to fix my new setup was actually https://cdn-www.swtor.com/sites/all/files/webassets/launcher/LauncherRepairUtilityU2021.0.27.exe. I got the wrong link when I attempted to fix the older system...

these repair utilities should not be used anymore period, they were for the 32bit launcher

Well, I had to use it to make my fresh install on my brand new system work.

some brand new systems need to update the C++ packages https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe that should be it

and for new systems that the launcher works and pressing play nothing happens they need the legacy directx files https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35

edit: installing by steam installs these packages, then the standalone package works too

In any case I don't have current issues that match this thread anymore, so I'll open something new about the problem on the older system, once I get around to explore it further. A simple rerun of the install exe was not enough anyway.
