Playable races in the future!

Do you think there will be new starting zones and the like? What would you like as a new playable race? I'd also like Bioware to separate the character customization into humanoid and alien. All current races are humanoid with different skin colours, cyborgs being their own races is laughable.

Anyway here's my list:

There are so many, I thought a great idea would be to have a DROID race!!

I mean instead of clothes you equip new parts, so new arms, head, legs etc.

The storyline could follow something along the lines that you gain Sentience and become an individual and its your struggle to be acknowledged as an individual etc, or your quest to find like minded Droids etc.

There are so many potential storylines its huge!

Bit corny but I think it could be great

Ewoks aren't going to happen, unless they modify the canon so that Endor is actually on the hyperspace charts at this point in the Star Wars chronology; currently it's not - it's a place people end up by accident when they crash in to it (and get stuck on it).

They seem to be sticking to the "human or exotic human looking" rule for races though, so you're unlikely to see Wookies as playable races (which is a pitty).

The reason they give is to do with the romance options - I suspect the real reason is that with all the races basically being humans they can use a single set of bodies and animations and just change the heads and the textures. Although I'm not sure that would rule out Wookiees or quite a few of the other essentially humanoid races. Mon Calamari would be more complicated because of their hands.

i doubt we will be seeing jawas or ewoks (i hope not)

kel'dor would be AMAZING to see as well.

I'm still holding out for ithorian and sullustan, but that won't happen.

I heard they're making miralians more unique by adding flesh tones. :D

There already are several threads of new playable races and people asking for them. The obvious problem is voiceovers, fixing clipping issues with gear and lore.

Could you be a lamb and point me in the direction of the search engine on the site, thanks! Much appreciated.

I would like to see Gran, Kel'dor, Rodian, Mon Cal plus anything more alien than what we have got. I am just hopeful at least some will come in via legacy.

Some species such as Wookie and Trandoshan might need their own starting area although a Trandoshan Bounty Hunter or Sith Inquisitor I dont see an issue. With the SI you speak to a long dead relative but changine a single NPC would not be hard. But most would not.

Currently the only story arc I have seen which would be a problem is the JC because they say he is getting poisoned but the Trandoshan is immune. Its a texted conversation so a 10 minute re-write could fix that.

P.S. I have seen other threads about this but with no search engine they vanish within seconds and I can never find them again. The only things that stay on the front page usual have errupted in a flame war.

Some one said droid and I have to agree. Now for simple reason they would have to be human in shape or at least upright, no astro-droids:jawa_frown:, mouse'rs or spider droids (like in Jabas palace). Three examples of independent droids are of cource R2-D2, the little droid who's seen more action then the whole republic and came out with a sense of duty & loyity. IG-88 who was the #2 bounty hunter next to Boba Fett and new the power of wealth, and last is and dont be mad if I get the name wrong:jawa_wink:)N7-D43, a battle droid who develuped a soul of sorts and gave up fighting (this one was from the comics, not the novels). Droids would make a great race to play as, & the thing about parts insted of gear make perfect sense.

Now back to your previous program!

They seem to be sticking to the "human or exotic human looking" rule for races though, so you're unlikely to see Wookies as playable races (which is a pitty).

Or, as one of the prevailing thoughts floating around seems to be, they may simply be saving the more exotic races for future expansions.

For those requesting Jawa as a playable race (like the OP)...I ask the following...

Would you be willing to sit through 50+ levels of cutscene content with Jawa jibberish voiceovers and subtitles? Would you be willing to do it without pressing spacebar even once??? If you hesitate to say yes, even for a nanosecond, you might want to rethink your viewpoint...Jawas don't speak Basic. Just sayin.

...as fun as playing a Jawa might sound on paper, I'd just as soon stab my eyeball repeatedly with a plastic fork.
