there are many reasons we need macros. game is made for clickers.

You clickers are very funny tryign to argue that it is better or even equal. Granted, this game has so many rooted powers it is not as big an advantage as most games, but still, it is laughable.

We watched that recently and my wife had to run to the bathroom cause she said she was laughing so hard so was gonna pee.

In this game, I've run a lot of missions I didnt need because I saw people looking a long time for a group. In another game, a superhero MMO, I got sucked into a deep pattern of niceness.... I ended up grouping with someone who kept saying 'pleas pleas I cant beat this boss and nobuddy will help me' Funny thing was I knew the mission and knew it wasn't even a boss, just a lt. But, I was in the neighborhood and I helped. This person was the worst player ever. I'm not talking about using a poor build or priority/rotation, I'm saying, she had trouble walking around the map. Anyway, she friended me and I kept helping. I kept rolling alts because of it, which was fun, because I'd repeatedly outlevel her in a few hours. I eventually trained her to be not terrible. She even would send me tells saying how she was on a team and doing okay. After many months I got a message from her account, but since the spelling was correct, I was not surprised to see that the message said it was from her mother. The mother said she was mildly developmentally delayed, that she reads the chat logs and thanked me so much for how much I'd helped her. The game had actually helped this kid in the rest of her life, because she so looked forward to playing her super hero that her mother used this as a reward for good school behavior etc. I then talked her mom into playing the game. She was terrible at first too hahah, but she got pretty good after a few days.

I don't know but the fact is that the MMOs that tried different combat where not super successful. Champions Online & DCUO (active blocking, third person targeting, but not FPS accuracy style), Age of Conan (active blocking, directional melee and some ranged attacks), Fallen Earth (Third person shooter (TPS) + hotbar button mashing), Tabula Rasa (sticky tab targetting/TPS hybrid) Darkfall (F/TPS) may not count in argment since it was such an uberbuggy and incomplete game at launch.

I don't oppose addons, but I do sorta prefer in game tools because of this. If it is functional in game, people can share strategies easier, outside the minority of people that read fora.

I think the majority of people that want macros would be happy with something short of that. This game was clearly made for mouse clickers. Several of the dev videos even have them mouse clickign skills . At high levels, at least for some classes, you can't efficiently hotbar all the abilities you need. It doesn't affect me much since I already am using macros and a 9 button macro'd mouse. Still, I'd be happy to be in groups where people other than me were moving and mouse turning while attacking. lol.

An MMO should have enough story to get you started, beyond that it is a hindrance because it takes developer time away from doing what only an MMO can do (as opposed to a single player game) allow people to make their own stories.

You used to be able to get it. But people liked the rugged worn in look. They used to go to an extreme and 'stone wash' and pre-distressed our jeans...I mean armor, at least now it is just a little faded and dinged up.

Its like anything, if you are teaming with people that are new, just be ready and willing to explain terms or if you are new ask for definitions. Be ready to say 'wut u mean?' or 'whuchu talkin bout willis?' if you don't know a term.

I think this is a great idea. I'd be happy if it was simply cosmetic, name of the character and appearance. They would just need to take powers from other companions of the same archetype.

Right. Also note however that the latest patch notes change what end game gear you can take mods out of. Thus, tho I dont know all the deets, sure sounds like a move toward orange gear being fully end game viable.

Sorry. sincerely. I didnt read your signature or know you had a learning disability. And i was just trying to be funny, but my real point was, you shouldn't worry about it too much. Many people without learning disabilities spell terribly for any number of reasons, many because English is not a second language. If you can play the game otherwise and don't act like a jerk like me, you'll get by fine. Here is another suggestion though. With Autohot key you can set up keys that will automatically type out things for you, if you can come up with a number of things you want to say regularly. They may put this into the game too.

Two thoughts from a big altist. The classes that get big AoE early seem to level a little faster for me as I feel more inclined to mow down mobs for mission bonuses. Stealth classes can skip some uneeded travel to and from missions. None of that makes a huge difference though. I find once I get two or three companions to choose from, I can balance my soloing out with tank/heal, tank/dps, heal/dps etc. and solo most all the content and a lot of 2+ heroics, though I'll try to group wherever possible as it appears to give me some Xp bonus and more importantly is fun.

I coudln't find much of anything on Wookieepedia about their language. Several of the names of well known Rattataki just sound vaguely Eastern European or even Ainu to me though. I might search Lithuanian, Estonian, or Ainu names.

What you need to do is just learn to spell phonetically in English. It makes the ghost of Noah Webster mad, but all he does is haunt you with spelling questions. It is actually very easy since English has a very irregular phoneticization. And if anyone complains about your phonetic writing, call them a grammar nazi. This is funny on a couple levels. One, it is bad spelling probably they are complaining about, not grammar (structural rules about how clauses, phrases, and words are arranged). Second, it is very socially acceptable to compare people that like proper spelling to genocidal political movements, or basically anyone that disagrees with you. Also, depending on your accent, be sure to write it Grammer Natsi.

I would only add that there are a very few green items that are moddable. As far as I've noticed they were all companion items and it is probably just a bug. from the top of my head some droid armor and some companions' weapons. They still show the moddable parts with the (#)s for each piece if you mouse over. Yeah it would be nice, i actually rerolled a level 11 character cause I'd sold some orange gear not understanding they were moddable, (tho I also was thinking about switching species.) There is a tutorial mission on the starter planet, but I'm bad about reading quest text.

You can't think too hard about sci fi. I mean, if I have telekinesis, I wouldnt throw rocks at you. I'd just move your internal organs around. If Scottie can 'beam' people up (involving saving their entire cellular structure) people are immortal assuming enough hard drive space (see some episode of DS9).

Now noting i read that book in the 90s, but if i remember correctly, that guy was more like a big snake than the typical Hutts we are used to. I mean, it is a good question, but kinda like asking 'how could humans have conquered the earth?" when you've only seen humans at Walmart.

I only have short backgrounds thought out so that I can think quickly during role-play or answers 1 2 or 3 in cutscenes. Some would be My Jedi Knight. A Zabrak from Elomin, one of the early worlds the Zabrak colonized. Being from a very rural area, my knight did not get picked out for jedi training at an early age. While mild mannered and kind, doesn't really subscribe to the jedi code. Would not be concerned about using dark side powers for example for the greater good. My Smuggler is not who she says she is. My smuggler was a cybertech with Czerka. To cover up some illegal and unethical operations they were involved in, they attempted to kill her. However, their assassin killed a Smuggler that she had been using to ship evidence out in advance of her plan to leave the company. She took the Smuggler's identity. My Marauder. A half human half Arkanian. (I gave her the yellow eyes and a funky skin color). Doesn't really aspire for power like a good sith, has much more of a bounty hunter attitude. Thought being a sith would be a good and challenging job. My Bounty Hunter was a teen mom. Didn't finish school so turned to crime to feed her kids. She doesn't even speak Basic well and will stick to Huttese speaking worlds if possible.

Granted I only skimmed this thread but many of you are missing the most important point. Don't use Mac or Linux OS if you care about humanity. Have you seen the Matrix, iRobot, Terminator? You know what happened - machines take over the world. I used to run Linux. It NEVER crashed. Never. After a year of it never crashing I put on WindowsXP. Why? because it crashed regularly of course and I'm not about to contribute to the destruction of my species. Obviously, if Mac or Unix based systems become the norm, this is feasible. What is a Microsoft OS terminator gonna do? How often will his lil robot eyes roll over with a BSOD?
