What DT probably meant was, indeed, that all styles should be available for both male and female characters, but unfortunately used "unisex" as a way to indicate that. Sure, not a hundred+ thousand individual strands like a real person has of individual hairs, but not a single moulded mass either. And it clips like crazy on helmets and tall back-piece armour. Some "circlet" and "crown" type helmets are barely visible, and only if you make them a colour that contrasts strongly with the hair colour.
