10/10 can't wait for these new changes coming to Tanks in 5.9.

I have been doing solo FPs and run through multiple characters through KOTFE/KOTET with no problem as I am now. I'm not feeling the DPS loss.
May be that's because there is no DPS loss yet. We are still at 5.8.

 

And of course solo/story flashpoints should not give you problem. They are story/solo for a reason. It may take longer after the nerf lands, but you'll pass them without problem. If that and story chapters are the most challenging endgame contants you do, yes I don't think you'll be impacted much if at all by the nerf.

Not EVERY MMORPG has the trinity:

* Players in Allods Online sometimes talk about it having a four-branch setup: Tank, Heal, DPS, CC. That is, they distinguish between characters who are there to dish out damage and characters whose primary job is to apply CC.

* GW2 gives all characters some level of self-heal. Many classes have heal-others. No class has any threat management tools other than hitting or not hitting mobs. This means there's no trinity.

Below is the detailed breakdown of changes.

 

Powertech

  • Now have access to Responsive Safeguards power

Shield Tech

  • Ion Gas Cylinder’s threat generation bonus has been increased from 100% to 150%
  • Fixed a bug in Power Armor that wasn’t calculating damage correctly and also Ion Screen bug, that wasn't imposing 2% damage reduction after respec until you switch instance
  • Power Armor now gives a 15% damage bonus to Ion Gas Cylinder (up from 10%)
  • Increased the base damage of Heat Blast by 18.75%
  • The time gate of Firestorm and Searing Wave by Flame Engine has been reduced from 15s to 12s
  • Increased Ion Overload’s damage by 50%
  • Increased Ion Gas Cylinder’s damage by 20%

Vanguard

  • Now have access to Echoing Deterrence power

Shield Specialist

  • Ion Cell’s threat generation bonus has been increased from 100% to 150%
  • Fixed a bug in Power Armor that wasn’t calculating damage correctly and also Ion Shield bug, that wasn't imposing 2% damage reduction after respec until you switch instance
  • Power Armor now gives a 15% damage bonus to Ion Gas Cell (up from 10%)
  • Increased the base damage of Energy Blast by 18.75%
  • The time gate of Ion Storm and Ion Squall from Pulse Engine has been reduced from 15s to 12s
  • Increased Ion Overload’s damage by 50%
  • Increased Ion Cell’s damage by 20%

Well at least l guessed something. That really happened, and now mah VG/PT can respec to tank role while inside lnstance, but... Mah poor damage... Otoh l wouldn't say VG/PT aren't touched at all, but the fact is that they just need some kind of extra DCD for both Damage & Tank role. Heavy DCD. Something comparable to Assassin's Phantom Stride. Various passive buffs certainly won't cut it.

I had more than one tanking blaster in CoH, threat management and just being truculent did the job nicely. When they nerfed the Tanks aggro and made Blaster aggro greater, I became an aggrowhore. 7 year Vet of CoH, I just hang around from time to time here. May the 4th be with you.
