Hey folks!

 

I have some updated information. We have a possible fix which we are now moving to test fully on the live servers. Best case scenario, the servers are live within an hour! That means that the next time you hear from me will be an update on the current status of the fix, or that the servers are live.

GET 2-DAY EARLY ACCESS TO CHAPTER 10 ON: FEB 9

 

Oh, wait. Server is down. Just 30 min to next day. Will I be able to start chapter 10 before the next day?

 

I of course understand that server problems may appare, but hope we get some free stuff or some CC.

Took you too damn long, so it doesn't even matter now. The day is as good as over for those in Europe.

Are you kidding me? you want a reimbursement of .50??? If you need .50 that bad you should perhaps not be a subscriber. What is wrong will all of you????? Are you so used to instant gratification you can't be patient. I'd rather have it fixed and not glitches that have problems. Sheesh. Grow up.

 

You have my respect good sir, I'm so tired of the whining on these forums, it might be because i understand how hard the dev's jobs are... You young plebs can let the hate flow through you all you want, but it's not going to speed up the process. Go watch episode 2, or whatever it is you kids like to do.

I was hoping subs would get only 2 days of a headstart on f2p ers and preferred.

you need to be sub to get chapter 10 you get chapter 10 on 11th if you werent sub on 2016 02 01

I'd like something as well. A lot of people put aside the opportunity to make money or other responsibilities to play this today, be the paying person for the subs we are and go out of our way.

 

I've seen several people say "This has been happening on the test server" - wouldn't it have been smarter to isolate the problem on the test server before taking the servers down all day? I'm all about communication, it's good to have, but when you have known about the problem and figured "It'll go away" - that's the wrong attitude. Now the servers have been down all day, people are annoyed b/c they took the day off, pre-planned their life happens day, you name it to be focused around chapter 10, and for what?

 

To find out that the problem is something that someone mentioned on the test server and you guys didn't address, and it broke the hamsters wheel...

 

*shakes head*

 

I love TOR - but instances like this really make me angry that you guys don't have your crap together better than you do.

What the hell is some of you people's problem? It's a mistake. Maybe a Rookie mistake yes but a mistake. It is human to make mistakes. I'm sure they will repay us somehow. Maybe not in money but maybe limited equipment or something like that. Trust the people makin this game. It's an awesome game and one mistake shouldn't ruin that. I am sure to play it when it gets back up. If you don't think it's fair your money got lost just because you lost one of the 2 days infront of others to the new chapter. Too bad. Think about all the other feature. As a subscriber you can change your appearance. As a subscriber you get 500 coins each month. As a subscriber you get a free lvl 60 token (Which is 2000 coins with lowered price in the market.) And i can keep going. One mistake. And your money is lost? If you subscribed just to get the new chapter 2 days earlier than others so you can tell about it. Then you are an idiot. Don't be a subscriber just for such small things. Do it for it all or don't.

 

And no i'm not workin for bioware. I am a player who has waited just as patience for the new chapter as you. Yes is sucks. I got sad too god dammit! But beginnin to bully the person makin the game? Sayin that they just get paid anyway? No they don't. Boss get's angry, Overtimes hour on your own bill because you made the mistake. Lowered trustworthy. Loneliness and outsorted just because one mistake. Keep it together. They probably have it worse than you. So what you loose a day or two on the new chapter? Think about all the hours they have to spend fixin the problem. You can go do something else. They can't. It is what they do for a livin. Workin on these games we all enjoys. We can just start a new game or something we haven't played in a while. They have to work hard and long hours just to get the game up and runnin again.

 

All i'm sayin is. Show some respect and don't judge them so easily. It's human to make mistakes. Otherwise we wouldn't learn from it. So SHOW SOME RESPECT!

As a Major Incident Manager you hit the nail on the head. So many times this happens due to not being able to adequately test a code fix/patch/deployment in a lower environment that replicates production. Also, to play devil's advocate (a wee little bit), there are also lower environments that are unable to replicate production though extenuating (SP?) circumstances. Rare though. That might play a part in this too if the prod environment is too big. Truth is we don't know the back end architecture and the actual problems that they are facing with implementing this. All is speculation. It is just a waiting game for us.

 

Just to give this some perspective, There is most likely a P1 incident outage to their business and a huge conference call that is going on right now with Major Incident Managers (with executives and business leaders on the call) that are working their damnedest to get this back up quickly and to find out what actually happened.

 

FYI, P1 and P2 incidents are to restore service. If the ASAP restoration is to roll back a change/deployment will cost the company less money then pushing forward, they will take it.

 

Hope I could provide a little insight into some inner workings a little for some. No hate please XD.
