Witch Datecron I have.

First you have to see if the datacron weighs the same as a duck. Then you know for sure that it is a witch datacron.

Serious answer? There is no way to know which ones you have already gathered on other character until you go and touch each one on every planet with one character. That way you know an achievement wasnt earned on some alt.

Wrong.. on the serious part that is.. You do need to know if it weighs the same as a duck, but gophers work as well..

Go into your Codex (in the mission log thingy..) and under Datacrons it lists all the thingys you have found on that char, you'll have to look up which one each codex entry is though.

Each datacron has a corresponding "historical" lore entry. I'm sure there is a list of them out on the web you can look at and compare to the lore entries in your character's codex to determine which datacrons you've gotten already.

Alternatively, if you're rolling a new character you can just grab them all again.

Check your codex for datacrons and planets. The datacron codex will show which you have and you can check that against a database like swtor-spy or the planet one will tell you how many you have collected on each planet but which ones just how many you have.

For your legacy: look in your legacy window, look at each planet's Exploration section. In detail:

Legacy > Achievements > Location > [planet name] > Exploration

Usually, if not always, the Datacrons are the first achievement icon

For an individual character:

Log > Codex > Achievement: Datacrons

There, they list them by the lore #. Compare those #'s to a site such as the following:

http://www.swtor-spy.com/codex/achievement-datacrons/11/

[heh, while researching/typing, you got a few more replies]

Go to SWTOR Spy.com and look up each planet's codex. They will list the datacrons. Then go to your character's codex under "datacrons" and compare them. Whatever isn't on your character's list is what you still need to acquire. This, assuming I understand your question.

You can actually find out exactly what datacrons you need with way less effort than this.

Hit Y to open achievements.

Go to location>planet name>exploration

Click on the datacron achievement. It lists the datacrons by type (ie. Tattooine Strength Datacron), and whether or not you have it.

This is true but it only works if you had one character hunting datacrons. If you had more, the achievements won't tell you much because they could have been gathered by different toons.
