For variations there is obviously different fur colors, or maybe even armor or horn variation.

 

Something else I would like to see is a repulsorpod, as in the ones from the Senate Tower on Coruscant.

Oh oh oh! Let's not forget to make it HUGE!! What this game really needs more than anything else is more huge screen filling mounts. Forget xpacs, forget bug fixes. forget the cash market (CM)....give us more HUGE mounts. Mounts to block out the stars themselves. Mounts larger than entire planets!

 

Oh yeah, be sure they have all the colors of the rainbow flag, er, rainbow too.

 

Ops leaders will really appreciate this future set of mounts.

I don't understand why people keep asking for this, its such horrible game design.

 

It trivializes things like questing, collecting datacrons (!!!), exploration, etc.

 

Just go over to the WoW forums and see all the drama going on over there now. The devs have realized what a horrible design idea flying was and tried to remove it this xpac. There's been nothing short of a full scale revolt going on until the devs finally caved and are bringing it back. Now they've painted themselves into a corner they can't get out of.

 

Trust me...it seems like a good idea but it really, really isn't.

-Some low-tech mounts. (Something more primitive?)

 

-More jetpack options.

 

-Some Colicoid-type droid.

 

-And as everybody else is saying, definitely a basilisk war droid.

Better yet I want a reverse mount. I want to scoop Treek up and put her in a back pack (ah la Luke and Yoda) and run around at 110% speed, the mount flourish would be every time I hit space bar to jump I do a flip in the air and Treek yells something Zeeky zeeky, Yeah!!!

Definitely a basilisk war droid mount, with either a hovering option(and it lands on the ground while resting) or the gait found on dewback mounts!!!

I am going to disagree with you and break one of my own rules. I normally don't speak much about SWG but in that game we had flying mounts, Peko-Peko, Condor Dragons, etc. and it was not a problem. I never once heard about any problems they had. It can be done but it is probably difficult to do. It might have been a different set up but it was done but the point I am making it can be done but probably not easy.

 

As far as people asking for them, that is their right since BW asked them what they would like. It really comes down to what BW wants to do.

I do agree with the folks on a multi-passenger mount. Would be pretty cool, though probably not realistic with the game engine.

They don't have to be like the flying mounts in WOW. They don't have to fly like the Thranta on Alderaan. Maybe the "flying" is just a couple feet higher than all the speeders we currently have....more aesthetic, instead of being able to fly over mountains and such.

Well there is a feasible way to (sort) of do flying mounts without the hassle WoW had. Notably by having flying mounts instead of free roaming mounts like the ground ones instead work like the fast travel speeders.
