UlaVii Posted April 9, 2015 Share Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) SPECIAL NOTICE: Base Invaders Has Finished The invasion lasted 9 weeks and finished on the 31st May 2015 Mission Briefing Following on from our weekly PvP Massacre, both Stroke my Wookie and Outbreak would like to invite you to join our latest weekly event: Base Invaders Most of the planets have a pair of PvP achievements for defeating X number of base guards/turrets which can be quite tough to do solo but in a large group are extremely easy. As an example, here are the achievements for Alderaan: Location->Alderaan->Player Vs. Player Imperial: Raiding House Organa Defeat 20 House Organa guard droids and turrets Republic: Sabotaging House Thul Defeat 20 House Thul guard droids and turrets Each week we'll smash through the guards and turrets across several planets but because each has an achievement for both Rep and Imp defenses we will alternate the weeks. One week we will clear a few planets on Rep side, the next week we will do the same planets as Imps. This avoids all the time wasting and trouble involved with re-logging characters and continuously re-organising the groups. So if it is a Rep week then grab one of your Rep characters and come join us, ditto for Imp weeks. How to join in All you have to do is be on Imp or Rep fleet at 18:00 BST on the day of the event and then reply when we start invites in general chat. You can also join us in teamspeak to help coordinate things. xberry Posted April 10, 2015 Share Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) Schedule Saturday 11th April 18:00 BST - Both Factions Oricon: 30 Guards Imp + 30 Guards Rep This is a cross-over event with our final PvP Massacre Will also be killing 1500 players to get the "Scare Bear" and "Judged Dread" legacy titles Hey, glad to see this is still going However, for the coming Saturday, actually tomorrow, I'm not sure how you intend to proceed regarding the 30 Oricon Guards... If I understand correctly, tomorrow (11th April) you plan to do both Imp & Rep guards at the same time... That means, depending on the faction, one player will only accomplish this achievement for one side. For the following dates, each faction gets a different date, I got that, but tomorrow looks like we'll either have to do the relog / organize thing for each faction, one at a time, or simultaneously attack the other faction's guards and hope to get another chance sometime soon for the remaining 30 guards. Also, last time, on CZ-198, I had troubles trying to connect to the TS server as I've been given a domain address (something dot com) instead of an IP address, so my TS client couldn't connect. I also checked your guild's website, hoping to find more info, but no luck. I hope that'll go better tomorrow. UlaVii Posted April 10, 2015 Author Share Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) We'll do Oricion like we did it last time. First we do the PvP kills just as we have done for the previous 6 weeks. Then we pick a faction to start with for the defenses and everybody who has a character in that faction relogs and joins one of the ops groups on that side. Then we kill the defenses. Then we all relog to our opposite faction characters and do the same thing. Last time we completed both factions Oricon base defenses in about 20-30 minutes total including relogs and group management. It will take longer if we have more than one ops group in each faction but if that is the case then I'll set different ops groups to do different parts of the event. I'm sorry you couldn't connect to our teamspeak server, the other 40+ people didn't have a problem and I didn't see you saying anything in the ops chat of my Imp group plus nobody said anything if you mentioned your problem in the Rep group. My suggestion would be to check you wrote the address and password correctly, the password would of been case-sensitive. We'll post the details again, like we do each week, in the ops group chat channel so shout out then if you have a problem. For the remaining weeks of Base Invaders we will be focusing on one faction each week but Oricon is a special case as lots of people want to come just for that due to the legacy titles which is why we added it to the schedule again and gave it the whole night to itself. I was, indeed, on the Rep side and, after a few tries, I gave up as everybody was already in combat. I just kept watching the ops channel for coordination and it went well. My concern with the TS - granted, I'm not using it that often, since my previous guild disbanded - but it looked to me the box where the address is inserted requested numeric IP address and not characters. Since it was the first time I entered something else than the regular IP numbers, I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing like using the proper connection tools. I also noticed a list of servers so then I thought I should browse that list to find the one I was given, but then the list was too long and gave up at the moment. I'll try tonight and contact you, or someone else from your guild, just to test the setting. I'd prefer to be all set before the event starts as I hate to keep anyone waiting just because I cannot complete some simple steps. Later, then. We had 2 guilds working together to spoil things for us on purpose. Luckily we overcame our challenges and achieved all our goals even if it took a bit longer than expected! I'd like to ask these guilds to please stop interfering with our events. These are for achievement farmers who aren't necessarily into PvP, all you are doing is bullying these people. If you made it to every event then you would of invaded your way through 42 achievements: Locations Invaded / Achievements Oricon: 6 Quesh: 2 Corellia: 2 Tatooine: 2 Yavin 4: 6 Voss: 2 Section X: 2 Belsavis: 2 Hoth: 2 Black Hole: 6 Alderaan: 4 Makeb: 6 Total: 42 Running this event straight after our last one means we've been at it for 16 weeks so we're going to have a short break and then we'll start the next one. We have a few ideas already but we want to have a break before planning things out. I'll make a new forum post here to invite you all I'd like to say thank you to everybody that came along and made these events such a great success. We had a few bumps on the way but we overcame every obstacle and achieved all our objectives. We helped hundreds of people get tons of hard to get achievements plus I'm sure we really brightened the day for loads of ultra bored security officers...shortly before we destroyed them I'll leave you with the screenshots from the last Base Invaders, you can see images from the previous weeks linked at the bottom of the first post.
