  1. To those that still need the "Valor" part of the Champion level of the DvL achievement, let's do it next Friday evening, 18th November, maybe from 20.00 GMT onward. It only takes 2 matches, but if you queue for yet another one, you may help a few others get their achievement, too! EDIT: To make it simple, I'd go for the first bracket - just jump in as soon as you hit level 10 - it's good xp!!!
  2. I'm not sure you got my point, but then I realize I also got side-tracked by the transfer issue. Let's suppose, for a minute, that we're already past the transfer fee reduction again. Those that wanted (and could) to leave, did it already. Those that didn't move - if it wasn't because the lack of cartel coins, may have stayed for other reasons. I'll focus on those that didn't want to leave their flagship (with all the unlocks and decorations) behind. Now, if they didn't transfer because of their flagship, why would they leave it just to join another guild? I don't question the quality of your guild, I'm just saying that most people that chose to stick to their guild because not willing to give up on their flagship, will most likely not be willing to join a faction mega-guild for the same reason. On the other hand, if the players still standing on ToFN will not find a way to join their forces.. then, probably, this will turn into a "single-player" server.
  3. I'll also transfer my main assets to TRE. Yet, since I have quite a few characters, I'll leave a few behind. There's a chance for a few tacticals, now and then. Maybe some HM flashpoints or GF ops or normal warzones. I don't expect anything more challenging, though. Like... NiM progression, anyone?...
  4. Your reasons to hold onto your guild might be true for most other guilds (still left) around. Luckily, in my case, the flagship served us for its functional purpose only, planetary invasion and teleports. No expensive unlocks, nothing fancy. That makes it easy for us to leave it behind for better solutions. Now, considering the coming 90cc server transfer, how will ToFN look by 6th of June? When the previous fee reduction was over, we woke up in a drastically less populated server. Most of those that were still happy with the group activities opportunities till that moment, were not happy anymore. If (what's remained of) your guild is interested in queue-based activities, are you sure you'll want to let this last train (26th May-5th June) go without you? Let's remember and learn from what most of us, still on TOFN, experienced when the previous 90 cc transfer fee was over. Are you sure that holding onto your flagship is worth the risk of finding yourselves stranded on a ghost server?
  5. At this moment, the 90 cc transfer price is official news. In case you missed it:
  6. I do apologize if I misinterpreted your post. Maybe, as DieAlteHexe noticed, it was also a "selective reading" effect. I cannot pretend to be impartial on this matter, but I do hope I didn't offend anyone while supporting my own interest. As for the future... I cannot predict what will happen if/when they'll reduce the transfer cost again, as I couldn't when they stopped it last time. However, I do count on positive solutions under every scenario
  7. "Selective reading" - I agree. This thread was specifically asking for reduced transfer cost; you, if I recall correctly, and a few others were concerned about the servers being merged, so here we have a hint about their intentions... "at this time" and forwards, for the "coming weeks". Personally, I still don't take it as a promise. It only shows that those at BW are still reasonable fellows, willing to ponder their players' suggestion, and not some abstract entities locked in their ivory towers.
  8. SWTOR response in Twitch channel: This could suffice, for now
  9. Any definitive promise of another discount to be precise, however the possibility of another discount aimed - this time, at people that asked for help in this thread was still considered by Ben Irving in his previous post. Now, if that possibility was a momentarily compassionate reaction of Ben's, reaction that got totally annihilated during their next business meeting, that still has to be proved. Fact is, the possibility of another discount was considered an option, and not by some random forum poster, but by the game's producer himself! Problem is, this thread, primarily aimed at players that got stuck on dead servers, was totally hijacked and polluted by players that had no contribution to bring other than undermining the OP's request, for all the wrong reasons. However, like it or not, the consequences of this decision - positive or negative as it will reveal itself to be in the long run, will impact all the community, as it always happens. Let's go back to the infamous Slot Machine nerf. Although, initially, it was clearly stated that all the benefits that one could get by using it were totally meant and intended by the producers, after all the fuss created on the forums, it got nerfed to ground and turned useless for all players. If we, as a community, cannot manage to keep together and support each other in a civilized manner, then we totally deserve our fate. Cheap server transfers would - if nothing else is provided - help keep servers alive and on this point - I think we can all agree on this, it will benefit all players. Those that want to play on populated servers will be able to do it; those that want to play on less populated servers will be able to do it; those that want to move back and forward, for all the other reasons, will be able to do it (sure thing, they have to fix the rename price discrepancy). In the same way a free market allows the economy to develop, free/cheap transfers will also allow the community to thrive and move on. As it is now, since I just got in the mail my monthly supplementary cartel coin reward, I am half way to be able to move one character. Another month and I could move that one (out of many) character. Since moving is not anymore a vanity issue, but more a survival one, I don't even think of throwing real money into it. That's my choice, no matter what. If the majority of the forum contributors community finds it okay that players mobility gets hindered by a real money wall, then we get what we deserve. I'm afraid, for worse, this time.
  10. I rolled a new (level 1) Imperial Agent last February, around the time Chapter X KotFE was released. My main purpose was to level up Kaliyo's influence through quests as much as I could. I used gifts once I got her and built up the influence with her to 20. Then had her all the time alongside while doing all class and side quests (no discovery quests, though). Now, as I'm heading to Yavin 4, she's level 43 on influence. I didn't get any influence options since playing SoR chapters, so I don't expect this will change through the remaining Yavin 4 and Ziost quests. Let's hope she'll not reset to 10 once I start KotFE , but I'll post an update either case once I get there.
  11. You'd be glad to know the pages of this thread have more than doubled since your last visit... Also, another weekend of uncertainty awaits most of those that asked for help in this thread. Please, don't keep us on our toes for too long! I hope that that spark of empathy that made you address the OP's request is still there, alive!:sy_star:
  12. I don't know about others, but they'll not see 1000cc for even a single transfer any time soon, more precisely EVER! If it gets to the point that I'll not be able to play because server turns out to be dead dead server, I'll move on to some other game... and yes, you CAN have my stuff, if it'll make any difference in a dead game! Actually, since BW cannot predict what players will do (and that was proved by quite a few instances!), we should simply post what would we actually do if Case A: Servers merge; Case B: Servers dies, transfer 90cc; Case C: Servers dies, transfer 1000cc... and so on. That might give them ground for some healthy decisions... Too bad the players that bother to get on the forums do not accurately represent players in game.
  13. I'll also note that your contestation has already been answered to, a few times already. Here's yet another version: BREAKING NEWS: Now, I play in EU and I see no benefit in playing on NA servers especially given the latency problem. So, why on the stars should I pay 1500 cc to transfer to NA? Nonetheless, by the end of the next week, when the 1500 cost is over, I may realize that most EU servers are dead (=only very few people left)... I express my concern about this unexpected outcome and I'm told that "I had the chance to move to NA servers, too, but I've chosen not to"... Therefore, please stop this nonsense of the 10 months we, players on currently dead servers, have had the "chance" to move to other servers. Actually, nevermind, by the end of the next page someone will surely come back again with this utterly useless contestation.
  14. Yes, I'm aware this "solution" is not perfect and cannot fit all cases. Like the now archived KP & EV NiM modes. Suppose I got in the game a week before these ops were removed. It's hard to expect a new player will manage to learn all they need to learn in order to not only level their character, but also to master it to the point where they could successfully complete NiM ops. Yet, if I may insist, based on the real life "curriculum" example, it still makes more sense to filter out all those historical achievements that belong to a previous generation. It doesn't hurt anybody. I also agree with you on the fact that we cannot expect some developer to go through each and everybody's list of achievement to fix all the tiny exceptions. Still, taking the date an account was created and applying it as the basis of a filter, looks like a pretty straightforward one-time process, imo. However, I'm not going to spend too much time and/or energy on this matter. Considering the status of much more pressing issues (and I think of some of the "general discussion" threads that have reached 50 pages and beyond), this one about a few achievements here and there is really a minuscule... inconvenience. I only added the proverbial "two cents" to the matter, having considered the "filter" solution to take itself a minor effort from a developer's point of view. Cheers everyone
  15. Hi, I completed most achievements by simply playing what I like so, yes, I'm for the fun part of it. Also, I'm not a "completionist" myself, so don't really care about the getting all of them. Still, while debating the Party Jawa thingie, I noticed a few might care about that, so this is mostly for the sake of their peace of mind Cheers
  16. For those players that found in Achievements an attractive "TO DO" list while they play this game, but were not that lucky to be here from the very beginning. Some more recent players may find it strange to see among the huge collection of tasks that only require time, skill and perseverance, a few that are outright impossible to complete as these will imply some long time gone items or exclusive rewards. Now, consider a young person born after 1990. They surely couldn't take part in any relevant event that happened before their birth date. It would make no sense to expect to find in these younger persons' curriculum "achievements" that belong to WW I / WW II / Vietnam War /... veterans. And, except some very particular cases, I guess that none of these young people are terribly upset for not having those "historical" achievements. Every player, upon creation of their account, is somehow "born" into the SW:TOR world. Applying a simple filter on only those achievements that are available from that date on will most likely create a more realistic list of achievements they can go after. You'll not see posts that were generated by the frustration some of the players had when it came to those achievements tied to exclusive rewards or unavailable items. Say we pick Location / Tatooine achievements. A new player can only obtain 20/30 of those points there, leaving the overall Tatooine completion to 99%. If there were a filter based on the date the account was created, this player will only get 20 points, still they'll be able to reach Tatooine 100%. Earlier players, with their unique Jawa Party, will get 30 points for that entry, hence they can rightfully claim 10 more points due to them having played the game for a longer time. Those few points tied to unavailable items or unique rewards may not look as a big issue to most players that are not "into" achievements (while it is for others!), so probably most will not consider that this "problem" deserves any attention from BW developers. On the other hand, filters are available in most databases so there's no need to reinvent anything. Since the Achievement System is most likely based on a database, I suppose that activating such filter would not be that big an issue either.
  17. & Yes, a decision rather sooner than later would certainly benefit them, if not for giving some peace of mind to people supporting this thread, then at least for the amount of CC being currently frozen by those that are awaiting this response. Many are holding onto their monthly subscribers rewards, others are keeping their desire to buy that new hypercrate at bay in case a reduction will be announced.
  18. I'm impressed how often you come out with the "cry, whine and tantrums" stuff to describe people that simply request something that you may not agree with... Do you work in a kindergarten, or something? If playing - or not being able to play because you are - on a desert server or on an overcrowded server becomes an issue, than the ability to move a character to a different server cannot be seen as a luxury item, so you shouldn't have to pay the same price you pay for the merely cosmetic "character rename" token. If people abused the cheap character transfer to avoid the 1000 rename fee, then it's not the transfer fee to be changed, but rather it is the rename cost or procedure that needs to be reconsidered.
  19. I have a suggestion, yet I'm not sure whether to post it here - it could offer a solution to OP's request, or make a new thread (yet another one?! )... Guess, I'll keep it here. Solution to this and possibly future similar petitions: Return the character transfer cost to 90 cc and MAKE IT PERMANENT. If people (already) misused this offer for cheap renames, readjust the character rename appropriately, too. Actually, why did BW increase the character transfer cost to the same price of Character rename price? A character rename is, correct me if I'm wrong, a merely "cosmetic" feature, while, considering the pretty low number of servers still running and their status, transferring characters from server to server is by no means "cosmetic" thing anymore! It's rather the only simple solution to keep servers alive because, when free/cheap transfer is allowed, the population will balance itself out, just like in the real world. There was a post in this thread mentioning the connection between the new 1000cc transfer price and the character rename price (it's not my idea but I'm sorry I cannot link it now... I've been trying for a few good minutes to find it somewhere among the first 40-45 pages of this thread with no success sorry, I'll try again later, when I get home) It is possible they increased the transfer cost to only 1000 cc (instead of the former 1800 cc fee), not out of some unexpected generosity, but to balance out the misuse of a character transfer. Therefore, when the 90 cc time window was about to be closed, what was in their mind might not have been "well, folks, you had enough time to pick the server where you want to play", but rather "you had enough of cheap renaming, it's now time to pay the due price again!". Which brings us to an important distinction: while a "rename" is rather a cosmetic feature, character transfer might no longer be seen as a merel cosmetic feature, you can live without, but more like a necessity. The same necessity that motivates thousands of people to migrate nowadays, be it for food, peace, a better job, a greener pasture etc. Thus, BW, if you cannot prevent players that want a cosmetic item (character rename) use the cheap transfer cost, which might be seen as "vital" in more than a few cases, then just readapt to character rename price! Make it 100 cc or 150 cc, still less that a forward/backward server transfer.
  20. I suggest you go back and read the entire thread. I'll save you the trouble in case you missed it: Once again, for all those coming up with the comment "you had 10 months to transfer"... Let's say that there's a huge discount on summer holidays in Costa Rica, you should hurry and buy them! Uhm, probably you don't want/need to go to Costa Rica and you have other plans, or maybe you are just happy to stay home for your summer vacations... Who could blame you if 10 months later it'll turn out Costa Rica will be the only one safe spot where to spend your holidays? Nobody had the magic crystal sphere to know what would have happened afterwards. There were warnings?!... Uhm, where did those warnings come from? Personally, I don't sell everything I've got and run to hide in a cavern every time someone cries "it's the end of the world".
  21. I'd like to know what happened with those that payed 1800 CC for character transfer when BW announced the huge reduction to 90 CC: did they also ask for a refund? Also, if I recall correctly, the 90 CC option was meant to make it easier for players to join their friends on other servers. People used that for cheap renames, move out from supposedly dead servers or other intent that was clearly not stated by BW. Now, if I didn't move my characters because I was already playing with my friends, why should I find it fair to accept the consequences of my choice and stay on a dead server? My choice was to stay with my friends, the certainty of a dead server became a fact only after the 90 CC transfer fee was over. Now, this petition is meant to support those players that found themselves stuck on a dead server, a situation that was a collateral and unexpected effect of the sudden increase in character transfer fee. BW is currently considering this issue and, hopefully, will make appropriate options available. It doesn't have anything to do with those that payed 1800 CC, 90 CC or 1000 CC for different reasons.
  22. Thank you for even having considered this possibility! Stay assured, we'll not waste this "second chance" we've been offered! Also, many thanks to the OP for having catalysed the ToFN community on this important matter, not only on the forums but also in the fleets' general chat.
  23. Help me (and my over 30 characters legacy) move!
  24. As of this moment, your suggestion thread comes right after "Lady" title for female Sith thread... Is that just a coincidence? You don't really have to answer since the mirrored effect is quite obvious, imo. The subtle irony is refreshing! That being said, if I were to bite, I'd go with this: Also, while there are NPC characters to support the Lady option, there are none for Mistress (to my knowledge). However, the gender issue - when it comes to titles, is a nightmare in most languages.
  25. I did read the whole thread. This, and others similar to this. I also noticed some were caught into a personal flame war with no useful additional information for an eventual BW employee that might have taken the time to watch into this matter. I only hoped I could help a few of those interested to understand that the Party Jawa is not the problem in itself, but it is the way this reward was tied to Achievements. It didn't have to be, imo. Long-time subscribers would have still enjoyed their unique rewards and all the others would have had their "bone" to chew. Somehow, once this exception was done, there was no turning back, in the same way as players, now, cannot imagine PvP without expertise (just a personal PoV). Personally, I'm not after the Party Jawa and don't reclaim it. It's part of the Rewards system and I'm okay with that. I also got my share of rewards - all in my cargo bay, no big deal. Same with the Founder title: it doesn't say anything about your skill. You (not you, Eanelinea, but generally speaking) may still play that one character/class that you came to love from the beginning... without... necessarily having reached top skill in all of the other areas of the game. Achievements, on the other hand, seemed (to me) to work in a different way, they could have shown how much/hard/well you are playing; mixing them with items from Rewards defeats, imo, this purpose. (1) Thank you. I try myself to be as concise as possible, but sometimes (maybe most of the times) I get lost into details. Some people are more talented with abstracting many unnecessary information into a relevant one, others may have different talents: to each, theirs. (2) Yes, although I wouldn't put it as of being happier. It would have been easier to grasp how this game works. There's an Italian saying that comes to my mind now: "Patti chiari, amicizia lunga" (clear agreements, long friendship). (3) Yes, if that were the case, we wouldn't be here trying to guess why they did it. I don't question rewards, I don't question promotions, I just liked the idea of having something that is purely defining how well you play the game. Guess I was wrong. Thank you, all. EDIT: I added a few more words, here and there, where the sentences seemed incomplete.
