Blew up twice for me on my first 100k spent :/ AND I got my Magnus. The rancor waited another 700k to show up tho. Interestingly enough it showed up after I stopped looking for it. If you buy smuggler chips and then burn the time required to play and play and play to get kingpin chips, it should average out to 2.3m credits to win a rancor. Of course, RNG might not like you. I play 200K on each toon, except for my main, I played about a million... Won it about 120K into it on an alt, probably about 3m invested, give or take... Over 200 Certificates, six Vectrons, three Rancors. No exploded machine. I also blew up the smuggler machine twice, but this was on my last character who was trying for another rancor, went to the lower prominade instead of the main area, and within 10 minutes blew a machine up twice. I just spent another 122k on smuggler chips, went through 24 kingpin chips, and the end result was 5 golden certificates (including the one I got from a smuggler machine). This pretty closely lines up with my earlier observations of 5 smuggler chips -> 1 kingpin chip and 5 kingpin chips -> 1 golden certificate. In other words, a single golden certificate requires an investment of about 25k. In total, I've probably spent around 400-500k across all my characters, not counting my initial stupidity of buying kingpin chips from the vendor. I've gotten about 20 certs and a single Vectron for all my trouble. No sign of a rancor, and I didn't even know the machines could explode. That's why I just used the 5 coins they gave me on each toon. Don't hit on those, I won't use my own credits. It's a waste of time. There's no grounds to complain about the system either. Nothing you gamble for is anything more than vanity. Yeah RNG sucks but it's not necessary to put yourself through it. I walked in there with 4 million credits to blow on it, and won the rancor on my 3rd pull. My luck is never that good... well mostly never. Sorry to hear my normal bad luck somehow fell onto you. It's only a waste of time if you think it is. It's a game, none of it is any more of a waste of time than any other part. I did it as long as it was fun (about a 1/2 mil creds worth).
