I was accepted into DF and DP 16 man story PuGs with 140 rated gear, or Makeb gear. You are over exaggerating, sir.

Nobody is saying I wasn`t carried a bit, but I wasn`t straight up booted and people were actually helpful in escorting me on Oricon past the Heroic, because I didn`t do the quest to open the speeder.

And yes, some progression guilds ask a minimum of gear for certain operations and modes. Join a social one if you are concerned about 180 ratings.

1. There are real ranged classes (Mercs/Vans, Snipers/Slingers, Sorcs/Sages).

2. How the heck are silver mobs too hard? Are you just aggroing half a dozen strongs and then trying to solo them? There's a problem between chair and keyboard here.

3. It's a game, avoid having a panic attack by getting fresh air.

Actually i think the armor system in GW2 isn't bad.

The thing about SWTOR is when you start getting endgame armor the FP's gets rather boring. In GW2 the gear have different stats at endgame and have "augmentslots" where you insert an "augment" on theese "augments" you have your setbonus. Several different setbonusses exists so there still a bit of diversity.

The armor totally isn't why i mostly stopped playing GW2. The main thing was the lack of Trinity. The rest of the game is actually not bad.

Now having said that it's realy not that hard to get new shiny armor in SWTOR, so that definedtly shouldn't be a reason to change how endgame gearing works.

And then Anet made Guild Wars 2 and everybody has to have berserker gear on every single class and it's so easy to get that you can buy it the moment you become max level and have nothing to work towards anymore.

The original GW had some good things going for it, but this game is set up differently and it is so easy to get some decent gear here that you really should be ashamed that apparently you don't manage. Sad to say, but it seems like a l2p issue to me.

By the time you get around level 20 get yourself moddable gear (if not earlier). Keep them update with planetary commendations gear and you can do some pvp for easy warzone comms to get planetary comms with again.

At level 50 make sure you have 100 planetary comms and a bunch of warzone comms that you can trade in for planetary comms after spending the original 100 on commendation mods from the makeb trader. Then your gear will be filled with 140 rating purple mods. Spend a little cash on implants and an earpiece and you're set to level to 55.

At level 53 get microfilament earpiece and implants. Upgrade your weapons to 156 rating as well. It's pretty cheap on the gtn if you don't craft yourself. Need some cash for it? Do dailies on ilum, black hole and section x. One run of these 3 will give you enough to pay for all the upgrades basically. If not, do it a second time, then you really have more than enough cash for that. See, it's not that hard.

Between level 50 and 55, do some pvp. Just a night or two to get 1400 warzone comms. You can buy 2 obroan relics at the pvp vendors at level 55. These relics are also good in pve. In fact they are better than the arkanian relics.

Also at level 55 go to Oricon. Get the gear from the story line versions of the quest. It's all 156 rating and just need to upgrade your belt and bracers with mods from the gtn and you are set.

Then you will have over 27k health and you are ready to do sm level ops. Then you can start getting your 162 rating gear and set bonuses etc. and start getting elite and ultimate comms.

Honestly, this is easy. You just need to be a bit patient and allow yourself a little bit of time to make some money with dailies and do a bit of low level pvp for extra comms while leveling to 50. It's just easy to be geared.

There's a problem between chair and keyboard here.

This is it all day long. I stopped raiding about a year ago. SM TFB (when it was 50) is the highest raid that I have completed.

You (OP) *might* have to put forth some personal effort and get better gear than you currently have, but the you didn't specify that so we are left to wonder where you are gear-wise.

Prior to Makeb, I was in 146 gear. After Makeb, all of my level 55s sat in 156 (level 53) gear up until, last week. I think at the time I had 11x level 55s and so by the time they were all 55, I was fairly burned out. I took some time off and came back, leveled a few more toons - up to 17x level 55s now. But I digress.

In about a weeks time, I went from full 156 to full 162 - without stepping foot into an Operation or level 55 HM Flashpoint. I know 162 isn't something to brag about, it it is an accomplishment for me since I really haven't played any end game content since the release of Makeb last year. I kind of want to get back into it, but I also want to make sure that I have the minimum "acceptable" gear-score.

tl;dr: Obtaining gear isn't difficult.

If I had of seen you in rakata gear in one of my 55 ops I'd of requested that you should be booted, I generally ask for 20k'ers to be removed as it's just a straight up carry at that point. I shouldn't have to cover for someone's lack of dps on a boss while all they've really done is turn up and roll for loots.

Luckily for them 2.8 is going to have bolster, all these people who can't of been bothered to even finish the oricon storyline to grab some free gear pieces before stepping into an operation are covered. Not the people I would want to run an operation with however.

162 gear works excellent to wear unless you are into recycled content like HM or nightmare.

If someone is in optimized 140s and you are in non-optimized 168s, then you more than make up for their lack of gear in an operation.

I live by one simple rule:

Only run with friends and guild-mates.

The reason for this rule? Simple. It is the easiest way to avoid elitists and jerks. I separate those terms as not are elitists are jerks, and not all jerks are actually elite. Getting into a friendly guild, or making one with real life friends is always the best answer. You enjoy the game so much more, there is no pressure, and friends help each other with gear and the occasional carry. If you lived by that one simple rule, I promise, your game would have less stress and more enjoyable moments.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the exact type of person that Ruined WoW.

What ruined wow was taking people out of the world and having HUGE gear jumps between expansions, and even some tiers. Still does not change the fact the OP should run with friends and guildies to avoid such drama, but the player did not ruin WoW. Allowing people to sit in town and polish their armor while waiting for a queue to pop is what brought the game down. Things we just fine when you had to find other people on your realm, in your faction, to add to your group. LFD/LFR/CRZ and the ability to check gear score ruined that game. [/soapbox]

Change your guild.

This.

162's should be fine for running hm fp's/tac fp's and sm ops. Augs will be needed for anything past that. Depending on your server, they can sometimes be expensive, but often people in your guild will cut you a deal for them. Dailys, profs, and good selling practices on the GTN can get you more than enough creds to pay for them regardless.

And, from the sounds of it, with the next patch gear will be getting easier to get.

Lastly, merc and sorc aren't THAT op compared to other classes. In fact most classes are relatively close to eachother. Assassin/Shadow could use some love but the others are overall pretty well balanced.

Yeah you definitely need to find a more inclusive guild.
