Aeradom
PT Version is now up! http://dulfy.net/2014/12/08/swtor-3-0-powertech-advanced-prototype-and-pyrotech-dps-guide-by-kwerty/ I looked over both guide but I really couldn't tell which was better for leveling purposes, unless I missed it somewhere in there. It seems that a lot of people on the thread are poo pooing Plasmatech right now and was just looking to get your thoughts?
AxeDragoneth
I looked over both guide but I really couldn't tell which was better for leveling purposes, unless I missed it somewhere in there. It seems that a lot of people on the thread are poo pooing Plasmatech right now and was just looking to get your thoughts? I'd actually advise Plasmatech for leveling. Scorch / Plasmatize, Superheated Flamethrower / Pulse Generator, and DFA / MV [which is all specs] are amazing mob killers. It seems that a lot of people on the thread are poo pooing Plasmatech right now and was just looking to get your thoughts? Plasmatech needs to be level 40 before it gets its powerful AoE buffs, while Tactics gets them at level 12. On the other hand though, Tactics doesn't start becoming a burst spec until it gets mass shoulder cannon spam @ 56, while Plasmatech gets its hardest hitting ability immediately and getting levels just smooths out resource management (and filler options) and improves AoE abilities. Overall, if you have field respec, clear the mobs with Tactics, and use Plasmatech for bosses. If you don't, its all personal preference. Note: This changes @ Level 40, where Plasmatech is the superior spec until level 56 Edited December 18, 2014 by TACeMossie
T-Assassin
Question about opener: would you not want to use Cell Burst prior to your first HiB to gain the extra charge for CB? (assumed 4 stack CB at start) i.e. AP > Gut > (relic, BF) > CB > HiB > SS > HiB > TS > (Reserve PC) > TS > TS > HiB > SS > AP > TS > HiB (not forgetting SC spam) Cipactli @ The Harbinger Edited December 18, 2014 by T-Assassin
TACeMossie
Question about opener: would you not want to use Cell Burst prior to your first HiB to gain the extra charge for CB? (assumed 4 stack CB at start) i.e. AP > Gut > (relic, BF) > CB > HiB > SS > HiB > TS > (Reserve PC) > TS > TS > HiB > SS > AP > TS > HiB (not forgetting SC spam) Cipactli @ The Harbinger I can't remember if I replies to someone via PM or if it was in a comment somewhere, but the simple reason behind it is: If you use CB before TS, you miss out on the +2% damage and auto-crit If you use CB before Stockstrike, you miss out on the armor debuff Therefore, to get good damage on your CB, you want to go: AP -> Gut -> SS -> TS -> CB -> RS... Except then you lose a High Impact Bolt in damage because you procced it while it was off cooldown Hence: AP -> Gut -> HiB -> SS -> TS -> CB -> RS -> TS ->... Peachbrah
so with the new set pieces do we delay the shoulder cannons for explosive fuel
TACeMossie
so with the new set pieces do we delay the shoulder cannons for explosive fuel I pretty much always did anyway. However, it might be worth it to delay them until the Mag Blast, depending on your Raid composition (that way you get them on with the armor debuff + 2% damage boost) Edited December 26, 2014 by TACeMossie

TACeMossie
well with the old pieces we really didn't have to with the shorter cd but it feels like an age with the new set piece Well, unless a fight is going on for more than 360 seconds (6 minutes), delaying it will result in a loss of 0 missiles. And a lot of fights have enrage timers tighter than that (e.g. Walkers, Underlurker, Bulo, I believe Sparky does as well) or are so full of immunity phases its ridiculous to try use SC on cooldown.
