Darth_Exar
Now I know this is a bit of a far reach but after playing through Forged Alliances on the Imp side, all the time while I was playing on my Sniper and I was just thinking.....If the attack on Tython and Korriban were "planned" by someone on the outside and they have "ulterior motives", to me it just screamed conspiracy theory. So here are some ideas. Theory 1: Return of the Star Cabal We know at the end of the Imperial Agent story you basically dismantle the Star Cabal, however the Minister of Intelligence states that there are some remaining survivors that fled during their destruction. They could have made copies of the data within the Cabal and now be starting the cycle all over again manipulating both sides. We meet a new Sith who we have never heard of as the Minister of Military Offence who just happens to know the in's and out's of basically everything and happens to know there is a particular artifact located on Tython without Imperial Intelligence and based on a "trusted source" who he doesn't like to disclose.... Also we have both factions humiliating each causing low moral rates. Again its still a far stretch but a possibility. Theory 2: Return of the Emperor This seems to be the favored theory. Both Darth Arkous and the Jedi who was slain in the dark council chamber obliviously know there is something larger at work here, every time I hear that Jedi saying "I've served my purpose so soon" or whatever he says it just sounds to me like hes totally brainwashed (that is personal opinion of course). Also with Arkous, his "lackey" and the Jedi on Korriban trying to find secret artifacts locked away from the Sith and may be an indication of the Emperor attempting to find a new body through a forbidden......world consuming ritual *cough*. Again this trusted source Arkous refers to makes an appearance. What I find odd though is the tie in with Lana, she states that she is somehow linked with this "ulterior motive" i.e the Emperor's return yet The Emperor's Wrath and Darth Nox (or his other titles) feel no disturbance at all, yet they served him. As we know from the Jedi Knight story the Emperor is attempting to consume the galaxy, killing everything in it.....So it just made me laugh when I saw the title "Forged Alliances"....I wonder what will come next. Theory 3: Im just going nuts and its just a simple flashpoint storyline. The sub title pretty much sums it up. So what are your theories ?
Alavastre
I thought the Star Cabal as well. Makes sense. However the stuff after you take back Korriban made me think otherwise. Though one doesn't mean the other is wrong. I can be a combination of both. The Emperor is most likely returning and the Star Cabal could also be helping him. But, we know from interviews there is a Revan connection to this story. At least it was hinted. Maybe it's Revan coming back through the force? I just don't know for sure. Would like to know what happens on the Rep side.

Drudenfusz
My first thought was also the Star Cabal... haven't play my agent for a long time (not even levelled that char to 55), so can someone tell me how the agent reacts to this? And then of course maybe it's Hydra, from Marvel you know, tarvelled back in time to the Star Wars galaxy and doing now there stuff after the events of Captain America the Winter Soldier. There's no reaction at all or at least, not one which is considerably different from the one who get playing other characters. Regardless, it's not the SC. Drudenfusz
It's the Shroud. Wasn't he killed at the end of that storyline? Is some time that ago since i played that... and I have to say it doesn't left me with the same impression the story of the Imperial agent did. OddballEasyEight
I got some immediate "children of the emperor" vibes off Lana the first time I saw her. Just look at her and then at how the emperor looked in the SW:TOR comics.

tanerb
Pub side story is just garbage. I am a senior Jedi and 2 no name guys tell me to go and plunder Sith Academy for what? some artifact. this is ridiculous. Where is Supreme Chancellor, where is Satele Shan? who authorized this op? Anyway, we go there, and I don't even ask where is the artifact, what are we doing here? "Absurd" is not enough to explain this scenario. Imp side at least makes more sense with one Dark council guy there, and Sith likes plundering and hurting pub reputation.
OddballEasyEight
The Children of the Emperor are no more... Defeated, yes. All dead? Certainly not. It's not inconcievable that some of them have survived (especially those on the imperial side since the republic would have trouble taking them out)
Darth_Wicked
Defeated, yes. All dead? Certainly not. It's not inconcievable that some of them have survived (especially those on the imperial side since the republic would have trouble taking them out) Those who survived no longer benefit from being anonymous, which was their main draw and / or advantage. As it is, they serve no purpose, once revealed. Cortesy of the Barsen'Thor.
Tungstenses
Oh no, please let Revan rest already. Never. I don't get why people want Revan to die. Why would you? 1. He looks, acts and feels B.A. 2. purpleness. 3. He has a interesting storyline that shows through the Shan family legacy. I don't get it mainly, because you played to much kotor, or you just hate him. I'm no galactic historian. (but I try to be) and I think Revan is an interesting character as is Darth Vader, or Luke Skywalker. I'm currently updating to the 2.7 Patch, but I have played it on the PTS. I think it is a very interesting story with the subsequent attacks of Korriban and Tython. As for your second theory, you could be right, reading Bioware's minds, but the Emperor Vitiate doesn't fully die and become one with the "force" until 42 BBY. He could be under-mastering the whole thing you never know. Much uncertainty Such suspense, much Yoda.
RaiderMid
In all honesty, I hope it's the return of the emperor or at least the prelude to it. Maybe actually have him return next year? Having played through both JK and SW stories, this has to happen at some point imo.
Jeweledleah
not sure where its going, but I'm not sure the story will rely on elements of class stories that are also huge spoilers for those stories and only those stories. so I don't think it will be Star Cabal or children of the emperor. what it will be? no theories for me ...yet. Gavren
Personally, I think its the Emperor. I just did the Forged Alliances storyline on the Warrior character, and after, I got a message from Servant One, that said that my loyalty to the Emperor would be tested. I think this is highly suggestive.
