No buff for vanguard Assault Specialist 2.7?

So PvP wise i was happy to see smash get a Nerf 2.7 (its about time). I'm just wondering if vanguard Assault Specialist will ever get a buff, it's not very viable in arena really and not to great in PvP either compared to other classes. I just want to know what other people think?

Just because AS vang/pyro PT aren't in every arena team doesn't mean "they are not very viable". Comps with combat sentinel+AS vanguard are great.

 

But I think vanguards really need pve buffs, something like stronger dots, which can be cleansed in pvp.

Smash nerfed, operatives nerfed.

 

There's already a buff right there because VG isnt behind the word nerfed.

 

No more cheap knockdowns from operatives and no more AOE crits from power/surge stacking monkeys.

 

I dont see how operative's got "nerfed" in the DPS department... the Hidden Strike Root, is in all reality a buff. because of Resolve.

That change is a nerf, since operatives/scoundrels are more suseptible to stuns after thier opener, and the fact that the current knockdown only build very little resolve, leaving plenty for a re-stun and a very effective stunlock.

 

It is however a good change, since opening burst from ops/scoundrels is too much currently.

VGs are ok in pvp at the moment. Got some nice survivability tools and dps is ok. They really need some damage buffs for pve though that won't cause issues in pvp. Such as the increased DoT damage as mentioned above so that it's spread out and not burst.

Your credibility is lowered when you say such things.

 

Knockdown is an interrupt and a stun.

 

Root... is a trivial immobilisation leaving all the victims attacks and defences available to use.

 

Lets see, a VG could... pop AOE stun before the operative can do a dam thing. A commando can whack out the 360 knockback, again fully ruining the operatives attempt to do damage.

 

Neither of which you can do INSTANTLY if you've been knocked down.

I will just copy my post from the PT forum:

 

We need to wait a bit and see if they plan to buff us in 2.7... or if what they announced is all they will do.(as there is nothing for merc/pt in there)

 

We also need them to understand that our DPS for Pyro is too low... sure there are some good parses but on average we do a lot less as the RNG is RNG. We need either a much higher average dps that can be obtained by increasing our skill damage(hopefully only OUR skill damage and not merc skill damage or we`ll create the new OP class) or to just make railshot reset every 6 seconds while in the appropriate cylinder(again without increasing Merc pyro DPS in the process)

 

Hopefully that won`t make us the new Operatives, buffed in one patch and destroyed in the next(exaggeration) but we really need the DPS and i would love it if they could add it to our Direct Damage attacks and not to our dots as it would make it noticeable in Solo PvE where we don`t do so well compared to other classes.

EDIT: Also did you notice that Mercs get a 21% increase for Power Shot as Pyro while PT`s get NOTHING for Flame Burst?(they get some damage bonuses but they can`t be taken as a PT Pyro or it would result in a dps decrease...)

 

I feel they should add Flame Burst to Rain of Fire AND Power Bracer... that would be a 15% damage increase, not enough to solve our DPS problem but it would be a good start.

 

 

A DPS buff for PvE is really needed...
