Ideas for new Modes and Maps

Hi there,

 

I really like the GSF update - pew pew ... however we all know that the two maps and one mode will not keep us in cockpits forever ... So let's gather some ideas for new maps and modes here.

 

My ideas for new modes:

Escort and Intercept:

In this mode, the players of one team have to escort a ship from a start point to an end point. The map is based like a course with different spawn points next to the course for the intercepting team.

 

Last Man standing

The goal is simple. The team with the last pilot alive, wins the round. This mode can have maybe 3 rounds in different sceneries like asteroids ship wrackages etc.

 

Cruiser Attack

In this mode a giant fleet of cruisers attack each other. The goal is to take out the flagship of the enemy. This has to be done by different actions. For example first taking out the turrets, then shield generators, then attacking the bridge with special torpedoes. In this game the team has to split up in attack groups and defend groups. Could be really interesting.

 

Hammer Station Control.

This mode is about controlling the hammer station and then firing an asteroid on an enemy planet.

The center of the map is the Hammer Station and each side's mothership launches a troop-transport every 30 seconds. The more troop transports from one team land on the hammer station the more points this team earns.

Game ends with 1000 points. Hammer Station under control and ready to fire! The transports can be attacked of course. The spawn points and routes of the transports may vary, to make it more interesting.

I have already proposed a "space race" scenario, some time ago, which didnt attract much attention.

 

Basically it would be:

- an obsticle course (which to some extent already exists on the current maps for GSF)

- around an star/black hole/planetoid(asteroid) you name it (this would prevent "cheating by cutting corners")

- with automated drone turrets (also exists in the current game)

- just you vs everyone else

- attacking other players would not be allowed (no damage) and would add a penalty of a few seconds ontop of your final time

- hitting automated drone turrets would grant you a "time discount" of a few seconds at the end

- as in the tutorial, i would remove damage when hitting obsticles, but would rather "punish" this with time penaltys at the end

- there would also be "points" where you have to fly through, failing to do so will add a large time penalty

 

So something people have requested for quite some time in the form of podracing, but i space :)
