  1. OP, you see, i dont really give much credit to your story, because it does not account for the skill / knowledge you gained from the first time you had your go at Star Fortress. If you are saying that its just because of increasing Lana to lvl 20, that you had an "easy" go at it, i will say its the combination of your now aquired knowledge and the higher lvl of Lana. I did the Fort with her at lvl 6, died twice, but ultimately had alot of fun the first time. I can assure you, that even if i did not increase her comp lvl any higher then 6, i would not have died again, the second time i went there. Both deaths were the cause of me getting careless. I will grant you that she does become much more powerfull, but that alone is not the change you see while going there. Its the same as if you go to a new Operation for the first time, without checking the boss fight mechanics compared to the second time. But then again, looking at some guys from our guild, going there for 100 times wont improve their performance... so maybe you belong in that category?
  2. Been there, done that, on my ~192 geared Sage with Lana as a Healer. Was a bit of a challange as i managed to die twice... First death was really my fault for not watching carefully - the miniboss targeted Lana and killed here, while i was focusing adds... but it resulted it the most funny thing in the entire Fortress. If you go there, make sure you die once!!! I promise you, you wont regret it! The second time was in the "pre-final" encounter, where i was just not paying attention to the mechanics at the 3rd node, which resulted in Lana dieing again, shortly followed by my demise. After that, it was just tank and spank really.. <Sarcasm> Im actually considering replacing some of my guilds DPS and Healers with companions at this point... </sarcasm>. They are really powerfull, they feel as powerfull, if not more powerfull, as my Character. Their downfall is their AI, which tends to stand in AOE, which tends to get them killed All my DPS companions heavy hitting ability strikes for around 12-15k and it crits for 22+ k... none of my chars ever pulls crits like that. Healing is also OP... with 12-15k heals comming in all the time while the channeling one ticks for 5-7k... But dont get this as a complaining post, its just my observations i made in the time i spent in KotFE. Healing quadrippled on comps, dps atelast feels like it doubled. Have yet to test Tanking stance. EDIT: After reading the rest of the posts, i just wanna mention that my Lana only had rank 6 Loyalty at the time.
  3. Ye that irks me aswell... Not to mention that you also need Slicing Blue Mats MK-8 to craft the new Purple Relics, and for some reason the 500 i had in my legacy bank, i cannot access from withing KOTFE... They are probably on some toon's mail or something i havent checked yet... EDIT: I guess their plan is to make different crafting professions more intertwined? And Hilts are the offensive part of light sabers... so maybe thats their logic behind it...
  4. Heh, i must say i did not notice this, but then again, i was playing my Sage TK built, and just Force Quaked every pack of mobs i came across... maybe i missed in on the "bosses"... But seriously, to that guy mentioning that he died because of this, i call dingo. Your comp is more then capable of defeating any and all mobs on his/hers/its own... The only way you can die in this is if you engage combat and accidentally write /stuck Especially if your companion is in healing stance...
  5. I am kind of afraid you have only a few days left on 12x EXP Class Quest bonus. If you are a Subscriber now and log in, it will automatically apply. You can further increase your exp gain by unlocking the Legacy Class Quest bonuses aswell as using a 25% EXP boost, which as a subscriber you usually get through completeing Class Quests. More then enough to level to max with them. However, this 12x bonus will be gone, once 4.0 releases, or maybe even once early access starts next tuesday. You will have to check that. But, there is a bright side to this. BW reworked the levelling proccess in 4.0. You will get about 3-6x Class Quest exp boost, and will need to complete the planetary story arc mission, which will give 3-6x exp aswell to stay on your levelling path and reach max lvl without "ever" doing the side quests. All the other side quests are supposedly no longer required to level. This will however increase your levelling time by about the factor two and a half (from 12 to about 30 hours - this is only my guesstimate though). The Class and Planetary Arch quests will be marked, and you can turn off all the other quests, so they dont even pop up on your map. So i suggest you start lvling ASAP if you wish to take advantage of the 12x exp. Hope this helps.
  6. If i would have to wager a guess that as soon as you accept the KotFE quest, all the quests that were not completed yet (class, Makeb, Dread masters, Revan...), will be flagged as "completed", granting you full access to things like Toborro's Courtyard and repeatable quests as if you would have finished them yourself. Atleast that's how i would do it.
  7. Those old stats wont exist any longer, all your current Aim, Cunning, Strenght and Willpower stims will likely be converted into a Mastery stim... I see them as "increasing max stack size". I dont know how many mats it will take for crafting each of those sub-components, im reckoning 4-6 for each, which for me means 4-6 times less inventory space from crafting mats. Win!
  8. You obviously were not around when TBC and so on launched for WOW... how many ppl back then complained that Vanilla was so much better... they probably still do... Its one of those MMO memes...
  9. You misunderstand my point, or only read half of it, or are just misquoting me, as in literally the next few sentances after the qoute, i give the exapmles what i belive will happen, as you try to do in your post. Im talking specifically about Enhancements and Mods. You should not concern yourself with the mod's names, they will most likely all be renamed. As in my example, current Battle Enhancements used to have End / Crit / Surge, this enhancement will probably just be removed and the Adept Enhancement, which currently has End / Power / Surge will become End / Power / Crit. I belive, all Battle Enhancements will be transformed into Adept, come 4.0. What BW will call the new Enhancement does not matter at this point. Im more curious as to what will happen with tanking enhancements that had End / Shield / Absorb, i cant recall the name now... darn it anyways... i have no clue as to what this will become, but it will be either End / Def / Absorb or End / Def / Shield. As a VG tank, i only use this kind of Enhancements (End / Shield / Absorb), with my implants / earpieces / mod's having defense rating, which means i will be either "stranded" with alot of Absorb or Shield on my Enhancements, neither of which will be ideal, i imagine. Do not take this as a complaint though, as i fully understand that i will be gearing my tank in the new craftable gear for lvl 65 as soon as i learn the recepies and am able to craft them, so i dont really consider this a "bad thing". I would do this in any case anyways.
  10. Dear BW. As a Tank, i am slightly concerned about having to stack Defense rating on every Mod and especially on every Enhancement. Will there be enhancements that have Power and Shield/Absorb aswell? If so, is the idea behind this that tanks get slightly higher DPS by using Power and Shield/Absorb enhancements? I do not know any tank that would put Defense on every single piece of gear, as that way, you will hit the Def rating cap rather quickly, or are there any changes to how Def rating is calculated aswell? Thank you for your answers. PS: to anyone who thinks Accuracy Rating is no longer required, yes it is, it just means that your basic attacks will now "never" miss, if you hit that 110% Accuracy chance (10% bonus accuracy or 9% from gear and 1% from companions) in PVE against same lvl opponents. PPS: Im quite sure that every single item in the game will have its stats changed to the new system. It would be a bad idea to have two types of gear (pre 4.0 and post 4.0) , in my honest opinion. If i would have to make a guess, all items will be changed to Mastery and Crit switched for Power on the first stat slot... but i dont know about the other stat slot. My guess is Battle Enhancement will now have Power / Crit from previously Crit / Surge, but thats just a guess.
  11. Item Tokens that are only attainable from doing Operations usually also have set bonuses attached on their armorings. While most of those bonuses are rather lackluster, its still a small boost compared to crafted gear. Those set bonuses are why you want to get gear from Operations. To craft a full set of 192 gear would also cost a fortune and take alot of time, if you to do it on your own.
  12. Most games that go down this road plan to port their game to consoles. I kinda dont see that happening to TOR. Even then, this game would still be too hard for way too many ppl...
  13. Vanguard/Power techs. Good aoe, excellent mobility, good-very good threath, best ranged threath generators, besides taunts, best base damage mitigation, good/ very good overall damage mitigation, good DPS (for a tank), easy rotation, easy resource management, were shadows/assassins may sturggle if they are not the focus of the boss/adds... Its AOE taunt is not my favourite, as you can basically miss with it because of the short delay and "inability to aim it", but it is the only ranged aoe taunt. Mortar volley does the job aswell and you can better aim it/preaim it Their smoke grenade (i forgot the name tbh... whatever CD reduces the accuracy of the boss) also benefits the other tank.
  14. Hehe, seems the Knights took a few "dancing lessons" with Syrio Forel
  15. If you would apply this standards to Darth Sidious, would you say hes a Dark or Light side Sith? Im rly curious...
