Megatfx
Do you normally run HEGC or Ion cylinders in a given match? Regards, Yes in 4v4 I'm always running HEGC as we have a tank. In Solo Queue I run Ion Cell, very rarely do I swap to HEGC as I already don't take the talents for auto crit on railshot and I only swap to HEGC when I get a VERY good tank on my team. Alright, cheers! I've been running both so far (level 36 atm, pvped all the way up from 10) depending on need... But I have to admit I am getting used to the heat vent on HEGC. I suppose it doesn't matter so much at my level - I'll give it a proper evaluation as I reach higher levels. Thank you!

MonikaTSarn
Would a lvl 31 barrel improve the damage with this, if you lowered the level of the mod or enhancement to compensate ?
Megatfx
I don't think a 31 will work. But you can try a bunch of variations, like 2 69 level armoring/mod, with a 58 enhancement? i'm not sure
xYENOOMx
Mega- I run Pyro. Whats the build out for proper stat min/max for this? I used to run heavy on crit. Also know that i chose to get the eliminators set for the Rail Shot crit increase. Is a full power build viable? Or do I need to cap crit? Feel free to message me in the game if its easier. POT5 - Yenom Thanks!!
Megatfx
When I run Pyro I run Crit Implants and Earpiece, everything else is min/maxed power.
Ottoattack
I just want to update the calculation for the comparison between AX and X mods. In the initial calculation I missed mark of power which adds 5% to main stats. The updated calculation: 1 aim = 0.2 bonus damage. 1 power = 0.23 bonus damage. 1 aim = 0.0028% crtitc approximately. 29AX stats are excluding expertise: 72 aim 49 endurance 27 Power Bonus damage = (72*0.2*1.14) + (27*0.23) = 22.626 29X stats are excluding expertise: 59 aim 44 endurance 49 power Bonus damage = (59*0.2*1.09) + (49*0.23) = 24.772 29X provides 2.096 bonus damage per mod compared to 29AX. I can't calculate the critic exactly, but the crtitc gain from having 29AX will be approximately 0.036% critic gain per piece (13 aim x 0.0028%). If you multiply by 9 for 9 pieces its 18.864 bonus damage vs 0.325% critic. I can safely tell you that 19 bonus damage is much more valuable than 0.325% critic. You gain 5 endurance with 29AX, but that's worthless attribute for dps. Edited December 8, 2013 by Ottoattack

AdmiralPeach
What implants and earpiece do you like to run in Ion spec / solo que? I've been debating whether running those 3 pieces crit would be worthwhile or not.
Megatfx
What implants and earpiece do you like to run in Ion spec / solo que? I've been debating whether running those 3 pieces crit would be worthwhile or not. This was copy/pasted directly from my guide: Solo Queue Arena Gear (DPS Generator) - http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/7af3bfc2-92c2-45c5-8c96-b16ce4e00a12 Solo Queue Arena Gear (Shield Generator) - http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/998ef2ca-74c8-4076-b4c2-21c6664618f6 UPDATED 22 NOVEMBER In Solo Queue this is a bit different as healer skill varies frequently, so I put on PvP implants to get 1k HP back, plus in the Solo Queue spec we don't have 100% crit to Railshot so I wear Crit Implants/Earpiece to give extra crit as it's actually important to have some since you don't get 100% crit on Railshot in Ion Stance. Eksenia
One question on gearing around bolster etc... I have full conqueror set, incl. implants etc. Would I lose expertise if I slotted my main hand and offhand with 31 crafted 31 barrel? If yes, is it neglible? Bolster still confuses me... Ottoattack
One question on gearing around bolster etc... I have full conqueror set, incl. implants etc. Would I lose expertise if I slotted my main hand and offhand with 31 crafted 31 barrel? If yes, is it neglible? Bolster still confuses me... lvl 72 gear (31 barrel, quality 168) loses a lot of expertise. Currently, for PvE MH weapons the recommended format is: 69 barrel + 66 mod and 58 enhancement or 69 barrel + 63 mod and 61 enhancement. You can use other combinations of items between 69 and 58 the important factor is when you add the levels on all items (69+66+58 = 193) they add up to 193 or less. I know this sounds silly, but with trial an error this is how it works on MH and OH weapons. There is a great guide by L-Randle http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=707204, that discusses how bolster reacts to different PvE gear setups. The discussion regarding the PvE MH and OH is on page 5 and 6 of the forum. It was determined that 193 is magical number where you do not lose expertise with as long as all gear is below lvl 69. rymasta
Ok so I tried this gear with assault specialist and my Damage numbers actually went up. I am not fully geared but I have all obran except for 3 pieces. The ones i do have are all augmented. Each match I feel like I am doing less damage and yet in the end my overall damage is higher in this build. any thoughts? am I doing something wrong?
