I've played a droid before (In this game and others). Let me just say this: Just because you are a droid does not mean you don't have a backstory. In fact I think droids can have the most interesting backstories because they are created and programmed. Play around with that, maybe you're an ambassador droid that was reprogrammed to be an assassin droid. Maybe you're a war droid reprogrammed to be a cleaning droid, or an interrogation droid reprogrammed to be a medical droid. I once played a droid in a GCW era tabletop. I was an HK unit that, according to legends (old canon), was refitted to be a firefighting droid. My particular character was then bought (for his resemblance to the famed assassin droids) and when his master found out he wasn't a combatant, he reprogrammed him to be an assassin droid again. It was really fun to play. TL;DR: Get creative and don't skimp on your characterization just because you're a droid.

Ok so I tried this gear with assault specialist and my Damage numbers actually went up. I am not fully geared but I have all obran except for 3 pieces. The ones i do have are all augmented. Each match I feel like I am doing less damage and yet in the end my overall damage is higher in this build. any thoughts? am I doing something wrong?

So I was talking with some friends today and I thought we could maybe get 4 people in conq gear to queue for ranked just to get coms. Someone said that it wouldn't be worth it because we'd lose since we aren't fully geared and we wouldn't get many coms. I have never done ranked in 2.4 so I'm not really sure if this would be the case any thoughts ?

I am kind of in the same boat gear wise but I can tell you where I am and see if it helps. I have full Partisan supercommando gear (tank) and play as a tank. I am working on my conqueror pieces now. Just last night I broke close to 30 kills and 0 deaths. I can take alot of damage and get up on the leaderboards too. It helps to have a good healer on the team but even those last minute self heals can really make a difference. I had someone give me a list of enhancements to replace the ones in the highest gear ......Unfortunately now there is a new level of gear and I have no idea if those enhancements are relevant. Pros: I can take alot of damage. I can get a decent amount of kills with a healer I am extremely hard to kill I can really help the team by running interference and maintain agro Cons: I wish I could do some more damage if I get focused by multiple people and my defensive abilities are on cooldown i get cut down pretty fast. I am in no way an expert on this and I am in a similar boat in terms of gear and such but I this is my experience and I hope it helps =) also if you don't mind me adding.... Can someone tell me the best way to put out a little more damage?

Ok So i tried all these settings and played a little yesterday. Playing the game was better than ever on my laptop. I went to some questing areas and did some dailies and everything was fine. I did not try a flashpoint yet. I did however do a warzone. So it was much better than ever but I still experienced large amounts of lag. I was able to target some people and land attacks and kills. I managed to go the whole match without dying which is good cause before I'd die and not even know it because of the lag. There were moments where there was no lag even in large conflicts but they were very brief. I tested this at my house with good Wifi connection. I imagine this would be better with a wired connection which is what I will be using at my dorm. Any thoughts?

Ok so I tried all your settings and noticed some better quality but it still didn't hold up in a WZ. I couldn't install that direct X thing I kept getting error messages any suggestions? Also What resolution should I be on Thanks again =)

Hello SWTOR Community !!! I love you all. I like to start my posts by saying I love this game and its community. So! Onto my post I am not a new player although with all the changes sometimes I feel like I am, like did you see that starfighter trailer?? Looks pretty cool! So I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this post and if not I am truly sorry. I have been playing SWTOR on my desktop with no problem since just about launch. Then I went to college and my playing has dropped cause No laptop. Well now I have a laptop that should (In theory) run SWTOR just fine. however I seem to be having some issues. I can manage to play teh game ok with some bearable lag however warzones... forget about it. This is somewhat of an issue since my main is a 55 and I love pvp, but I haven't been able to work on him cause I can't play =/ I'm decent with computers but all these setting combinations I've tried arent working. So I'm gonna leave my system information and I'd love it if someone could help me out. I play a trooper on jung ma and with work and school my Swtor times are a little jumbled. I'm still getting the hang of all the new stuff from 2.0. Anyway I have been a fan of Rp since the launch of Swtor. I have done some awesome in game rps with my guild and forum rps here on this site and also with my gold I was wondering if there was a place specifically that rpers tend to hang out. I'm looking to develope my character a little more and was looking for a place that I can go to to enjoy some Rp. I know about the cantina on nar shadaa but that doesn't always have people. Hello everyone. I started RP-ing with SWTOR. It was my first RP experience including in-game and forum RP. I love it and it really interests me. Since I RP-ed in SWTOR I have tried RP-ing other genres that I enjoy. All of which have been fun. This may seem like an unrelated question but my roommate and I made our own forum RP site for a different game and being new to RP in general I was wondering if anyone knew effective ways to get the word out there about our site. I am in no trying to divert any players from any other games including this one I was just wondering in general how would I attract players.

This Is a little adventure I thought up on a long car ride home I hope you enjoy.. This is the first installment and there will be more to come The Unlikely Endeavor Tycke sat at his table alone twirling his glass of Corellian Ale. Corellian Ale was expensive in this part of the galaxy but it was worth it to the young smuggler. It gave him a little taste of home. It brought back memories of his beautiful home and how he fell asleep every night blaster in hand, to the sound of boltfire ripping through the city and woke every morning to the sound of boltfire ripping through the city. He sighed after the Ale slid down his throat. He set down the Ale on the table just as someone sat down at his table. Tycke looked around the Cantina as if waiting for some else. "Sorry bud that seat is taken" Tycke said calmly "Really? well than I think your date bailed on you cause this seat has been empty for the last twenty minutes" the man said. "wht have you been keeping tabs on me?" Tycke said "Possibly" The man replied. Tycke shifted in his chair putting one elbow on the table and his other hand on his hip unhooking the strap holding his blaster in its holster. "Listen, only two types of people sit alone in this Cantina.... Drunks and smugglers looking for work, and you look too smart to be a drunk" The man said calmy noting the shift in Tycke's motion. "hey man, you never know I could be trying to forget that lovely gal who stood me up." Tycke said smirking and easing back in his chair . "well make your proposition already, I bore easily." The man tensed up a little bit. "Ok Hot Shot I think the actual client should explain the job himself. You can find him in this hangar." The man stood up and turned to walk away. Tycke checked his datapad to make sure he received the hangar information. "Well thank you Mr. ....." "You can call Haner" The man said then turned and left the Cantina. Tycke stood up and clipped his holster back up and made his way to the bar. he set down his glass with his payment under it, nodded to the bartender and walked out. He adjusted his jacket as the warm stale Tatooine air whipped at his face. The harsh sand pelted his skin as he walked through Anchorhead to the spaceport. He never wore hats but it was planets like these that made him wish he did. "I hate this damn rock" he muttered under his breath. He walked up the steps into the spaceport and headed to the hangar. He took the elevator to the hangar his client would be waiting for him. The doors of the elevator slid open and Tycked stepped out ...... "Captain Tycke at your ser......" His voice trailed off as he froze in awe at the look of his client. " Oh you gotta be kidding me" He said as his palm met his forehead. A little Jawa was sitting on some crates with his eyes fixed on his hands as he twiddled his thumbs. He looked up and his eyes met Tycke's. "oh no did he see me? could I turn and walk out?" The Jawa jumped up and ran over to Tycke. "Oh thank goodness you're here Captain Spike, Its terrible just terrible." Tycke loked down at the little brown robed figure with his glowing eyes and his little backpack. "Actually its Captain Tycke..." "Oh its absolutely terrible they took it away from it was mine and its lost!!!" The little Jawa exclaimed while hopping in place. "Whoa Whoa take it easy slow down. Lets start with your name" Tycke said calmly "I am Fren, of one of the great Jawa families. "Jawas have great families? wait jawas have families ??" "Of course we have families and a hierarchy with laws and moral codes and ..." "Never mind never mind, Who took what of yours?" "I had a crate of my most precious things, well actually they were regular things but when I put my most precious item in the crate it changed the qualities of the crate...... I was bringing it with me but a man came and took the crate when I wasn't looking its on its way to Ord Mantel now ." the little guy was frantic and out of breath by the time he finished explaining his situation. "Ok well why didn't you stop him?" Tycke said. He was actually taking an interest in this it seemed like there was more to this than a simple robbery. "I tried but an imperial officer said it was official cargo" "Imperials?!?! What the hell are they doing in anchorhead? well it doesn't matter I know a guy in Ord Mantel, we can head there. But wait how about pay little guy?" "We don't care about credits just our precious item. Our one item that we search for our whole lives and when we find it we keep and protect it and keep it. Oh i said that already. I lost mine I'm a disgrace .....You gotta help Captain Spike, Here's what i can offer...." The jawa pulled out a datapad from his belt and showed Tycke an amount .....5 million credits. "Whoa oh oh ahem I mean yea that'll cover it. Lets get going." The two of them got into Tycke's ship which was a few hangars over. They departed from the Spaceport and into space to start their journey together. Neither of them knew what kind of trip they were in for.

i enjoyed my commando too i just want to focus gearing the class that would be a better DPS in PVP

OK so I should be using my vanguard assault spec with eliminators gear then ?

so I'm guessing you would say that for DPS i should go Vanguard then ?

ok so ive been working on pvp gear for my Vanguard since I hit 50 last week and Ive been getting info from everywhere i can some helpful some not so much. I went on to my 50 commando to see what gear i had with him and played a couple of wzs....... My commando is not as geared as my vanguard and yet he puts out nearly twice the amount of dmg. Im really annoyed because i hit 50 with the commando and everyone was like oh commando DPS sucks shouldve gone vanguard ...SO i did and now Im disappointed in the damg output. I know its all about what i prefer but i enjoy things about both i am DPS and i primarily PvP but I love to PvE with my guild . I need to know which is better for DPS and what i should focus on. any help is much appreciated

but if played right could i be extremely dangerous cause i got a 50 commando and realized how disadvantaged i was so i made a vangaurd and got to 50 (which took me awhile) will i be able to be a serious threat as this class

Thats true well i appreciate the help guys. ok so i want eliminator gear through elite war hero and I want aim augments. This will make my burst damage great and with that I'll survive more.correct?
