Let's face it though, they aren't even "needed", much less "badly needed". This game is a very good game that could use a great many things more than appearance tabs. While I do support Atabs, I do agree with you that they are not "badly needed". Fixing the mod system to, at the very least, greatly reduce the RNG involved in orange gear, would go a long way toward making customization workable. Not ideal, that ship has sailed as that would require a modable gear system, not a hybrid modable/non-modable system, but it could be workable. In Rift, for example, the wardrobe system allows you to put social items in any wardrobe slot you want. That's different than the current orange item system (which I like a lot by the way).
