Yes, gear matters in a few ways: (1) what you mentioned "bolster" does not work with augments; (2) moddable gear allows you to get a defined, optimal stat distribution for your spec; (3) moddable gear allows some defensive specs to exploit the gearing system to have high damage and high survivability that is not intended for their spec; (4) tactical items can drastically change a spec from it's base.
  2. Guard is broken in PvP. Guard has been broken in PvP since day 1. TTK is off the charts to the point where most game modes don't make any sense anymore.
  3. Such a simple fix to the Skank tank problem. In every tree for defensive specs, just have a -50% damage, +100% threat node. Done.
  4. Those FPs have no business being in the GF. They should be removed entirely from the GF.
  5. I doubt they would make anything that farmable, but frags would be nice
  6. 101, 102, 103 ... all cost the same to get there and give same rewards (tech frags or whatever). That incentivizes people who have completed the season to continue doing the objectives making grouping for them easier.
  7. To truly fix PvP, they would need to ... Separate how abilities work in PvP and PvE. Redesign the game modes and maps from scratch (current game modes and maps were primarily designed when the level cap was 50). Redesign the queueing mechanism to make it pop fair matches across servers. Rebalance the PvP-side completely from scratch ... all specs All this stuff should have bene baked into the game from the design. But BW didn't know about PvP then and they never did. Everything else is constant bandages on top of bandages on top of bad fundamental design.

  9. Today it was a premade of 2+1 against me. So, 3-1 with a 2 premade on the other side. Match making didn't even have the courtesy to balance it 2 v 2. It's just flat out broken.

  11. Arena round #1: 3-1 Arena round #2: 3-4 Arena round #3: 3-4 Why isn't the PvP match maker like the GF? It should show the invites and who has accepted and declined and not pop until it's at least 4 on 4. Come on BS. Fix the failures of the last administration.

  14. A vendor that would let you trade Notes of Reflection for GAME Modules. I know you can get GAME Modules by using Phalanx as your companion, but the drop rate is too low. Making the previous rep drops the same rate as the current would work as well.
  15. Yes, you're right. I can stomach moving 3-4 over for the 1000cc/ea. I'd rather pay 100cc/ea, but oh well
  16. If you are melee and you're struggling with slows, you have absolutely failed to adapt to the current meta and it's your fault. I pvp with every class and spec, but my mains are Inf Shadow, Rage Jugg and Combat Sent. All three have many, many ways to mitigate CC and I have no trouble getting next to sorcs. Now, they are slippery and they have lots of ways to stay alive. But, most of the time either I kill them or they flee the combat. Further, AR Mercs and Eng Snipers are much, much better than sorcs at shutting melee down. It's bad players that can't adapt to the meta that are complaining about sorcs.
  17. This is 100% the fault of the dev team. They have put together a gearing system where you have to grind FPs over and over to get gear. Naturally, the 99% of the game that's done these FPs 100x does not want to sit there and watch the cutscenes again. They want to run it as fast as possible because they have to run it another 20 times to get max gear. The dev team could fix this simply by making Vet/MM FPs one skip all skip. Done. Nobody is worried about carrying a newbie. They just want to do it as fast as possible. PvP is also the fault of the dev team. Instead of a rational system like segmenting by gear score, they throw new level 80 players with 324 gear in against hardened veterans with 336+gold aug gear. Even worse, they eliminate ranked arenas so now new players come into arenas, get focused, chain stunned and globaled before they even know what's happening. And, of course, they never queue again. The dev team could do a lot to fight toxicity, but they always wind up making things worse because they don't listen. I don't think I'm cheap. I've spent thousands of dollars on the game over the years. And even I balk at spending $200 just to move my entire legacy over.
  18. Like, I get why people would want to look like a Samurai. That makes perfect sense to me. I just don't understand the obsession with giving us helms that would make us look like HK. First, there's already an HK helm and second, who wants to look like HK with horns? That baffles me.
  19. Yes, it is. It's deserted. You must not play MMOs to not understand that. For someone who plays mostly single player, I can see how you might think that. We're talking a couple hundred regular players at most.

  22. This is a critical point to me. I always prefer "solutions" that are simple and already implemented. Change 1000cc to 100cc, make a forum post and be done with it. Mergers is a whole thing. You have to make announcements, you have to dry run, you have to test -- it's a major disruption to the game, the players and the dev team. I agree, I'd like them working on 7.4, not mergers at this time.
  23. I truly don't understand people's obsession with madness. I think people who complain about madness don't play madness.
  24. I disagree. Free or inexpensive transfers are preferred to a merge because it allows people to chose.
