imMandalorian
Soooo.... Essentially the Bounty Hunter in terms of combat and story purposes? Virtually everything else that you mentioned also won't be around for another 3500 years, like the Death Watch, as was mentioned, the Kom'rk starship, etc... also these are really just examples. like the ship is similar to the sith warrior ship Edited August 17, 2012 by imMandalorian
RazielHex
This is a very good idea but they class story should vary some what from one to another. And for those wondering i only played the bounty hunter up to level 15 in the beta long long ago so i don't really remember it. Maybe.. maybe you should play one all the way. Really. I think you'd like it and stop posting.
Tricky-Ha
With the way that BioWare horribly messed up the way that playable Jedi/Sith look like in SWTOR, I think it best that they DO NOT create a new class based on Mandalorians. Some of our Mando-like Bounty Hunter armor looks very cool & as everyone knows, the Bounty Hunter class has the best overall gear in the game, even tho that's not saying much...it's just the BioWare's art teams just do not have a real feel for this era of Star Wars history. Maybe if they got help from Jan Duursema & the other artists that worked on the Knights of the Old Republic comic series instead of trying to just invent brand new silly looking designs, but BioWare's not listening & their clothing & armor choices will just remain generally stupid looking. I love the idea of this thread but I just don't trust BioWare to do it any justice. Not until they're willing to put their new art for armor/clothing on display to this forum community & accept constructive criticism/feedback on it, then go through that process a few times before finally putting the designs into the game. We've got some real hardcore Star Wars fans here, some great artists hanging out in the Fan Art forums...all of them willing to offer BioWare help. All BioWare has to do is accept it. Tricky-Ha
Still...a a class based on Mandalorians would be cool, if BioWare knew how to do it right. Maybe EA will let some other company take this game over from BW if the future.

Fyurii
Star wars Lando was the only black man in space (original films only) Well, aside from at least one of the guards on Cloud City, and that X-Wing pilot in RoTJ who said "She gonna blow!" shortly before dying. Fyurii
really am gonna have to watch them again freeze frame time Well, the X-Wing pilot. The best part of ESB to see the other black guy on Cloud City is when Lando turns the tables on the Imps with his double-double cross, shortly before Chewie gives him a sample of Wookiee neck massage techniques. Listerman
I'm not sure which I find more amusing...The fact that some people on this thread are neglecting or ignorant of the fact that Bounty Hunters become Mandolorians in their class story, or the fact that these same people are side stepping this being pointed out. yoomazir
sorry but i have to did you just ask where the black folk are in Star wars Lando was the only black man in space (original films only) No, I'm just saying that the mandalorians have much more diversity than what we're seeing in the TCW series. Fyurii
No, I'm just saying that the mandalorians have much more diversity than what we're seeing in the TCW series. They had more diversity. Before TCW, the most relevant depiction of Mandalorians to that timeframe still has only human Mandos.

We're obviously sidestepping because to us fans of Mandalorians, much like fans of Jedi/Sith, we'd rather be core character archetypes rather than offshoots. To us wanting to be a full on class based on Mandalorians but be relegated to just being Bounty Hunters that don't even hunt other players or even that many NPC's in our class story would be very much like someone playing SWTOR with a Jedi as a "Luke Skywalker character that never got to leave Tatooine & get trained by Obi-Wan & Yoda". Then there's the fact that you Jedi/Sith characters get spiffy themed TITLES while us so-called Mandalorian Bounty Hunters have still to this point got nothing of the sort. That's osik. greviousfan
i feel this would be a great expansion to the game. Mandalorians play such a huge role in the during the old republic, i know the bounty hunter has the ability to become mandalorian but it feels more like a title then the actual honor of being mandalorian. I hope the developers have been holding it and are ready to release it. Edited February 5, 2014 by greviousfan

Kingrami
Perhaps not a new class but a mandalorian themed expansion would be nice. The Rise of the Hutt Cartel story had a 3rd faction trying to take advantage of the war and become a force in the galaxy. It was a nice idea to mix things up and go away from traditional Republic and Imperial fighting. Mandalorian themed expansion would be a good idea by adding a new planet that harbors the new mandalorian threat (not mandalore) as they threaten to take on the pubs and imps Now as a mandalorian myself in an rp server the whole class thing is overkill of the BH story, but why not just a mando'ade themed expansion like the Hutt Cartel? Background:Yes I'm in a mando clan

Background: Yes I'm in a mando clan I'm also in a mandalorian clan, and I agree completely with this. SWTOR would only have something to gain by catering mandalorian players--though I know it is a fraction of the ENTIRE player base on this game, but it's fact that most mandalorian players are subscribers, infact the majority of people in mandalorian clans subscribe and are pretty dedicated to the game simply because it takes a lot of effort to play a mandalorian. Secondly there is much love for the "mandalorian-ish" equipment. There's a reason why the Hellfire helmet is quite popular and sells for millions on the gtn even if it is not a cartel market item --which there is much real world money to be had if it was. You'll also notice the other equipment like the mandalore the preserver set, and the cassius fett armor set happens to sell for a great amount, too. There's a lot to be had from this. As far as making a planet based around that, with new missions and a storyline, I think the whole mandalorian premise has a lot to offer. Firstly because in this time period for TOR, there is so much diversity with mandalorians as a whole, you have the 'fake' mandalorians of clan rook, you have the crazy ones of varad. They're pretty disorganized and scattered for the most part...and in that, there's a lot of potential for plot devices. Maybe a lot of missions could involve the player character being hired to perform certain tasks in a limited amount of time. Perhaps there could be escort missions, delivering some poor npc through a pvp zone without getting killed? Maybe there could be a mission to outright raid a settlement of an enemy faction? Perhaps there could be some gladiatorial gambling kind of game akin to what the game says about Geonosis? ...speaking of which, why ISNT there a geonosis based warzone or 4v4 arena? That's straight out of the SWTOR story, isn't it? Oh yeah, and what about a player bounty system? A lot of games that have this tend to be very successful, and it there are ways to involve only willing participants. Maybe only people with a quest can hunt each other through the server in open world? Edited February 5, 2014 by xxull
LanceCorporalDan
Pass. Mandalorians are boring and there is already a Mandalorian class in game. BH is not the same as a Mandalorian Class. Sure it might happen in the story, however it bears no weight and hardly burshes with Mandalorian culture. That said, I think Mandalore would be an excellent planet to visit sometime!
