  1. Cool, si very nice that you & Blaine are still around.
  2. We did have a poll system before the game went live..apparently it was abused cause majority votes showed BioWare that the forum community wanted things in this game that BioWare did not want to put into the game. Things like.... Appearance Tabs 3D Space Combat Dual Specs Non-Human looking Playable Species Chat Bubbles I guess BioWare got a bit tired of us showing them our forum created polls when they tried to give us lame excuses for why they don't want to or can't put some much requested feature/content into SWTOR. Hindsight's all 20/20 now, maybe if they'd have listened back then instead of tried to hide all evidence of dissent, SWTOR's sub #'s wouldn't be so low & this MMO wouldn't be going F2P 8 months after launch.
  3. We're obviously sidestepping because to us fans of Mandalorians, much like fans of Jedi/Sith, we'd rather be core character archetypes rather than offshoots. To us wanting to be a full on class based on Mandalorians but be relegated to just being Bounty Hunters that don't even hunt other players or even that many NPC's in our class story would be very much like someone playing SWTOR with a Jedi as a "Luke Skywalker character that never got to leave Tatooine & get trained by Obi-Wan & Yoda". Then there's the fact that you Jedi/Sith characters get spiffy themed TITLES while us so-called Mandalorian Bounty Hunters have still to this point got nothing of the sort. That's osik.
  4. What you're trying to show us to prove a point isn't proving any point. TSW does have a stat item that you can get when you buy a collector's edition of the game, but that's only useful for like the 1st couple of hours of playtime, it's very much an exception to the rule. It is not something that can be bought again & again at advancing QL's. My claimed items were the Screaming Demon Ring that boosted my stats to help me level a little faster through the starter zone in Kingsmouth & was useless & had to be replaced by a better stat ring I'd received in the game by QL3 & also a pet wolf, full size in comparison to the baby pets in SWTOR oddly, that gave a slight boost to health & healing but it's boosting powers were also negated by the time my characters had left the starting zones. I got both of those because I participated in the open beta. Besides these items that boost your stats in the Kingsmouth starter zone, everything else in the cash shop is entirely cosmetic. These kinds of starter zone items that "increase the stats of your character" in some way are the full extent of those types of items in TSW & there will never be anything more than that as promised by the Dev team from FunCom, who unlike the Devs here at BioWare, are very transparent with their playerbase, very open with us & so far have not been caught out telling us outright lies & contradictory information. It's probably got something to do with the deal that FunCom made with EA where there are not owned by EA, which is likely the problem with with all the lies, flip-flopping & secrecy that we've had to put up with from BioWare Austin this past few years.
  5. I'm a huge fan of Star Wars space combat in video games but I have so far still refused to play even 1 space mission here in SWTOR & I won't ever, until the ships are taken off the roller coaster rails. It's the principle of the thing, I've gotten really good at 3D space combat, so good that there's no fun in going backwards like to training wheels on a bike again. The freedom of blasting enemy/player ships in 3 dimensional space flight combat means I just won't settle on some half-arsed done job that's nothing more than a prettier looking version of SOE's browser based on-rails space shooter in Clone Wars Online. I'd hoped for so much better from BioWare.
  6. Absolutely right, you can't purchase anything from The Secret World's cash shop "to increase your character", no P2W options in that game. FunCom may have had a hard time with Age of Conan, but they totally made up for it & are doing so much better than BioWare Austin's SWTOR with TSW. If FunCom got the Star Wars licence to make SWTOR instead & used the same model they did to make TSW, TOR would realistically be a serious competitor to WoW. Just my opinion, but I feel strongly about it.
  7. You've got to wonder why would BW want to sell green/blue gear in the cash shop if long time subscribers like me & you know that we get tons of greens/blues as loot & rewards, so much so that we end up just selling nearly all of it. Maybe BioWare is planning to severely stagger back loot & reward drops so that new FTP'ers will feel like they're hardly receiving no new rewards as they progress through the game & their only option would be to pay real money to buy the gear that they need from the cash shops. Cause & effect, EA is going to get paid from this FTP thingy, that is never in doubt. It's just now up to BioWare to figure out how to do it in a slick enough way that tricks the FTP'ers while they keep on reminding them about how exciting the FTP transition is for everyone at BioWare & EA. Only going from experience on other FTP games I've played, MMO's that only gave weapons & armor out as quest rewards & never as random loot like how we're getting them here now in SWTOR.
  8. 1. Jump to Lightspeed/3D space. 2. Appearance tabs that work separately from stats on armor/clothing. 3. Player apartments/housing or fully modifiable/decorateable ships as our player home. If you asked me to include a 4th thing, I'd say: hire much better artists to design the armor & clothing designs for SWTOR.
  9. I really don't want a bald headed Cathar. I've read Star Wars: LEGACY & I know what Cathar look like.
  10. Still...a a class based on Mandalorians would be cool, if BioWare knew how to do it right. Maybe EA will let some other company take this game over from BW if the future.
  11. With the way that BioWare horribly messed up the way that playable Jedi/Sith look like in SWTOR, I think it best that they DO NOT create a new class based on Mandalorians. Some of our Mando-like Bounty Hunter armor looks very cool & as everyone knows, the Bounty Hunter class has the best overall gear in the game, even tho that's not saying much...it's just the BioWare's art teams just do not have a real feel for this era of Star Wars history. Maybe if they got help from Jan Duursema & the other artists that worked on the Knights of the Old Republic comic series instead of trying to just invent brand new silly looking designs, but BioWare's not listening & their clothing & armor choices will just remain generally stupid looking. I love the idea of this thread but I just don't trust BioWare to do it any justice. Not until they're willing to put their new art for armor/clothing on display to this forum community & accept constructive criticism/feedback on it, then go through that process a few times before finally putting the designs into the game. We've got some real hardcore Star Wars fans here, some great artists hanging out in the Fan Art forums...all of them willing to offer BioWare help. All BioWare has to do is accept it.
  12. Hi, I've got a question for Damion Schubert if he's still working here on SWTOR, it's been so long since I've heard anything from him so I can't be sure. Mr. Schubert, will you please come back to the forums & answer posts about classes & others topics about SWTOR like you used to do back in the good old days? I really enjoyed reading your very informative posts in the Dev Tracker & have been quite sad to see a lack on them in what seems like nearly half a year. Thanks.
  13. I'm of the mind that "YOU" will provide the constructive criticism, since I played that game way before any of these credit sinks were put in the game back when it was still being beta tested. Did it then, can't be bothered to do it now, so instead I let my sub drop in 1 more day & I'll take a few months break from paying BW money to ignore my complaints about excessive credit sinks. Maybe things will change in time but it's a real shame that BW would allow so many of us to leave this game when all we want to do is play a Star Wars MMORPG.
  14. That's a pretty cool thing that BW did, creepy & very "real" feeling. Nice one. Nice find too. I've seen a weird perspective screenshot months ago that made it look like that guy was a 100 ft tall dead giant but I guess that's been fixed now or sumthing.
  15. I use it every once in a while to farm lockboxes for creds & warzone comms & if I'm lucky I try & fight & kill someone else in there if they're doing the same thing I'm doing cause I'm a greedy s.o.b., usually I'm not so lucky. The only time I ever saw it get used by a group of people, & it wasn't properly mind you, was during the Rakghoul event when we went in there to fight the lvl 50 infected hairy-elephant thingy world boss.
  16. I'd like to know too cause when it's time for me to move onto the War Hero BH set, I'm not doin' it. Mods are going in my Battlemaster! That chickenbeak, big dumbarse shoulderpad, spiked gloved & boots crap is silly looking & I'm not silly.
  17. QF brilliance, in the end, if nothing else, that's just enough for me. To just see the Dev team spend a little time on the forums talking about almost anything at all, acting like people that might actually play & enjoy their own game. Even when they do participate in such a fashion with the weekly community Q&A, it just is not happening on the forums so once again it feels like we're getting "talked at", not "talked with". Subtle difference, but it's felt right here.
  18. Maybe cause in between those moments where he's getting slammed, he realises that his constant communication is really enjoyed by a large majority of the fanbase of that MMO, maybe he likes talking to the fanbase of his MMO & has tough enough skin to deal with internet tough guys or maybe someone is making him do it. I'll bet you the people that slam this Ghostcrawler at least have a shred of respect for him for even speaking up in the 1st place.
  19. Hey, I'm wit you, I also want the coding Dev's to do their jobs & code the game, but...our forum Community Reps have outlined what their job is plenty of times in order to save time so that the coding Devs don't have to spend hours away from their real jobs to read allover these forums to find topics & comments to quickly respond to. The CM's have told us time & time again they are here to pass on issues to the main Dev team & this means sending them links & such to discussions concerning the particular parts of the game they work on...all that busy work is facillitated so that Damion, Emmanuel, Gabe or Georg can spend a few minutes during their lunch break or at home after their workday is over to engage with the forum community here, on the forums. The opportunity is there, unused.
  20. TUXs has actually earned that right. Don't ask me how, but he's clearly certified & all that.
  21. It does not helps, at all, dude. Not one bit. We enjoy convensation from our Community Reps like Allison & Joveth, but what we WANT is forum communication from our SWTOR game developers, people like Damion Schubert, Georg Zoeller, Matt Bourdreaux, Gabe, Emmanuel, y'know, those guys? /edit: Actually Kourage, I do want to hear what they say, it's just that I'm a bit picky about who it is that I want to hear from. It's sorta like trying to have a serious discussion with your girlfriend(BW Dev) who's refusing to talk to you so she sends her sexy girlfriend that you wanna get with(BW's CM reps) over to facilitate discussion between the 2 of you instead. Contrast how many times the mind behind SWTOR James Ohlen has gotten on these forums & actually engaged with the community instead of just posting an announcement & compare that to The Secret World's forums where the visionary behind that game Ragnar T is posting on the forums multiple times a day just engaging with the community, answering casual questions about the game, responding to feedback & the like. Of course one company is locked in an EA dungeon & the other is on a really long leash...but the difference is communication skills right from day one between BioWare & FunCom is so fundamentally different. I'm a bit sick & tired of BioWare being so impersonal & stand-off'ish.
  22. Soon to be unsubscriber here & here's why... 1) The Secret World's Developers, the major ones that created & worked on the coding of the game, not their community reps, are talking to the forum fanbase in actual discussions, answering questions, responding to feedback with feedback of their own & truly engaging with the forum community. Unlike here where our own Devs are scared to talk to us for fear of saying something that wasn't approved by their legal department 1st & getting spanked for it. Thankfully Georg Zoeller tried it for a while, but even he got smacked down by EA's heavy hammer. 2) They seriously care about how much we the playerbase care about how our characters look. 3) We got pets at Early Access launch & they weren't baby animals, they were normal sized wolves & dogs & stuff. 4) My sub to SWTOR is ending in 6 days & I'm a bit bored of it, could probably use a break & playing The Secret World seems like the thing I want to do.
