Both my JK and my SW use their healer companions and they are juggernaut and guardian and they can take on elites 4 levels above them without losing more than 20% of their health. I kill things so much faster with scurage and never have to rest. A quick dismiss and re summons brings him back full life. Same thing if you speeder up and then dismount.
