  1. Holy #@!$ I am such an idiot...so sorry, so dumb...thank you.
  2. For the past few days, mine have both shown as 0% and the tool-tip shows a hefty negative. As I'm gearing and augmenting, I would like to be able to see these, but really I'd like it confirmed that this is a display issue and not actually a true depiction. Has anyone else encountered this? If so, is it reported? Can we confirm that shield and absorb chances are what they should be?
  3. I believe that if you simply rename the loading screen file, it will be gone. You'll presented with the graphics redraw that occurs when you move locations so experience will vary. On my computer, the redraw is practically instant, so the loading screen was a complete waste.
  4. There are some detailed theory posts lately (look for one that has something like "sage point of view" in the title). That said, I believe the consensus is power above everything, almost (or even over) willpower. I think the third stat is accuracy up to 110% (for PVE), followed by surge. Please though, seek out one of the real posts.
  5. Each tree really only has a few added skills. The amount of bar adjustment is minimal. Also, you can set them up in advance and scroll to them.
  6. If you just want to completely make things up, then you don't need a video game to be a basis. Most RP is done within the structure of the game, expounding on what exists as 'fact'.
  7. Was wondering the same thing... also recently built a new machine, cranked the settings all the way up, and then wondered why I was still watching things 'draw'. Previously I'd just assumed it was the result of playing on an 8 year old, underpowered computer. Now we know it's poor game design. Fitting.
  8. Speeder trick is faster than resummoning though.
  9. The way I answer this choice when leveling is to check and see whether my skill tree choices have activations that depend on crit. If you have crit based skills, then go full hog on crit, if not, all power. You aren't going to reach diminishing returns during leveling, so I don't think keeping a balance matters.
  10. I think the answer is to have them each as miniature little story lines that cover at least a couple of hubs. Right now, almost all side quests are one offs. If the stories carried through a bit longer, you could feel more involved. Truly though, there's a limit to how many stories someone can or wants to keep track of. Junk quests are pretty much necessary in this type of game to keep level progression without grinding or seriously overweighting main story quests.
  11. Depending on my level, I either do or do not take the side quests at each location. I look to stay a couple levels over the class quest level. I try to do every heroic that I can solo and any others that I can find groups for, but don't harp on them if no one's around. Rewardwise, they are more worthwhile. Just recently, I've started doing some of the planets' bonus series. I've noticed they tend to have better rewards, and the content is fresh to me as I haven't already done it with every alt.
  12. I've tried to, but it's way too stupid, assanine, and idiotic. And rambling, and useless. But hey, at least you can color your text!
  13. 1 in 10 is for all intents and purposes a tiny share of the market. There's no reason to cater to that small of a segment when there are already workarounds to make your overpriced status symbols adapt to the rest of the world's software.
  14. Because it's an absolutely inane suggestion. "Excuse me forum trolls, but are you such sheep that forgettable video game dialogue imposes it's will on you?"
  15. Do they still have Compuserve also? Anyway, wow, I had no idea. We need to get this fixed ASAP. I'm bumping clean water and mosquito nets down notches and making unlimited internet our top priority. To OP...if you have original disks, install from them first. The patch updates will definitely not cap out your 10 gigs.
  16. Sorry to be dumb, but what are limited monthly downloads? Is it literally what it sounds like? I haven't heard of bandwidth restrictions outside of cell phones for like 10 years.
  17. lol, for the "sake of the game". Dumb idea, play what you created.
  18. Never played PT and I imagine there's some class variations, but I do the same without a healing companion. I don't think we're alone either. Anyway, I do agree that mine is a bit of an odd stance to have, but I can't help it. I feel like if you're using a healer you're chosing to play easy-mode and paying the price of moving slower.
  19. Personally never use the healers. They are boring and slow. I usually go with a tank just cause I like the agro control (bind their taunts). I've actually developed a prejudice against players I run across who are using a healing companion. I know it's not fair, but I do instantly assume you aren't very good if you're using one. Shrug, I guess I'm a wordier version of the "L2P guy" who's been getting blasted in this thread.
  20. I think the post 50 Daily gear grind turned a lot of people off. Personally, I don't plan on considering unsubbing until I've gone through each of the 8 story lines.
  21. Force Breach should precede Project if you're talented for the 45% extra boulder as the extra will consume a charge that would be better used by Breach. edit: A charge of Force Potency I mean
  22. Cybertech is very helpful for staying well geared as you can craft Armorings, which cost the most commendations. Anywho, you can keep a full set of gear well modded for you and a single companion by selecting coms as quest rewards and never armor or weapons (excepting usage mod rewards and orange armor that uprages you).
  23. Most mobs don't live long enough against a Sent to really get the benefit out of all the burns in Watchment. It's easier in general to level as Combat. Sent's can dish some damage, but sure drop fast. You need to either be sending Kira in first or using T7 and making sure his tank abilities are in. No matter who your companion is, make sure you've got their abilitiies toggled on (open their bar with ~ key) Use your agro drop to balance damage between yourself and companion on elites. Use your interrupts to stop enemy abilities with longer cast times.
  24. I know it's dumb, but have you rebooted? Sometimes game keeps some sort of process alive for me, thinking there's already an open instance and won't start again unless I reboot. Try running under the XP Service Pack 2 environment as well.
  25. The social vendor in the cantina on Corscant sells very cheap social adaptive moddable gear that any of your companions can where. There are mod vendors on each planet where you can by green level armorings to get you started (although depending on your server's economy, the AH may be cheaper).
