spookyBen
When Obi-OneKenobi used a blaster to kill General Grievous, wasnt that against the Jedi code? Im pretty sure that a Jedi using a gun is against the jedi code.
VanorDM
Im pretty sure that a Jedi using a gun is against the jedi code. No. It doesn't say anything anywhere in the code about weapons. Lightsabers are the traditional weapons of the Jedi, even though they have used other weapons from time to time. There is nothing in the code that would prevent a Jedi from using any weapon they might want.

Either way, no its not against the jedi code to use blasters.

Lithy
no, while the LS is the Jedi's signature weapon it isn't the one they have to use. Yeah but my favorite scene was when Yoda told look he wasnt allowed to use the Assault Cannons....
Aurbere
Jedi considered blasters primitive and clumsy weapons. They prefer to use the Force or if the need arises the Lightsaber. Weapons for a more civilized age. Nothing in the Jedi Code points to outlawing blasters.

Captain_Zone
It's only against the code if the Jedi's name is Batman. And yet, even Batman made an exception to his rule for Darkseid. He also picked up Slade's sidearm a couple years before that and nearly shot Alexander Luthor. So sometimes, even Batman can be pushed too far. This is true, though it doesn't mean it didn't break his code. Rules get broken for the greater good sometimes. It is a very common theme for writers to use in their storytelling, especially if they're trying to make things that much edgier.
