Yeah, It's a PvP guild on Fatman server, my bad. You were ranting & raving about injustice & such, I just figured that you were sorta informed about the subject somewhat, my bad for the assumption, man.

Ranting is good for the soul. Keeps the blood pressure down.

This is the funny thing about it, why not camp on ilum or corellia? Or arrange to meet in tatooines outlaws den (where you can get coms)?

I feel sorry for the rep that's going to be getting some stick just for encouraging fair play, at the end of the day these level 50 grieving ops groups are breaking TOS PvP server or not.

Have you ever heard of south shore or TM?

The objective isn't to gank it is to enrage the POP in the area and have them bring thier mains/any guilds into world PVP.

It's how you start a World PVP event in a game that has lost it's way with world PVP has no Arenas and no RATEDS.

It's called a PVP server!

Kudos the BW for admitting they screwed up and not trying to sweep it under the rug.

Still can't believe it was an actual GM. Always figured it was a butthurt player pretending to be a GM, like what would happen back in SWG.

Hold on a second. First they called the players lairs, saying they were conspiring in fraud. They did this repeatedly, for over a day, in a fairly obvious attempt to sweep the issue under the rug. It was only after repeated posts and a significant amount of outrage that they admitted their mistake.

Let's call a spade a spade here folks. As per their actions BioWare would have been more then happy to have this issue "swept under the rug", when that option was no longer viable, they took responsibility.

To add, I say again, this isn't the first time that a nearly identical problem has occurred with the CSRs on PVP servers. It's just the first time that the customers have made this big of a stink over it.

Its called a PvP server. Get some people and pvp; or roll on a pve server.

But the planets are generally level based (i.e. for PvP inside the level range), there's absolutely no reason to take an ops group full of fully geared level 50's with their BM/WH to a planet where there is no need for such a group. If it was somewhere like outlaws den on tatooine I could understand that as the objective in that area is to PvP but going to a planet just to grieve lone lowbies on their quests who have no chance of competing back is pretty pathetic, and is exploiting game mechanics to deliberately disrupt others game play which is against TOS.

There is a lvl 50 bonus series on hoth if I recall correctly.

Its ok. You were never involved in fun, spontaneous world pvp, which matured from such a thing as raiding lowbie zones.

Your loss, not mine. But please do not say what I enjoy partaking in, has no reason to partake in in the first place. And fighting someone while having an advantage is not an exploit of game mechanis; it is simply how MMO's are designed.

I suggest rolling on a care bear server, this way you can live free and be one with all other carebears.

It's a PVP server. Were the players that were attacked flagged for PvP?

YES.

It's not grifing. It's a PvP server. If you don't like it, play xbox.

On the fatman very few lowbies actually have 50's as they are almost all rerolls. Anyone that plays on fatman knows this. Since Republic dominate this server in 50 pvp, I would guess that this was an op designed for ganking instead of continually losing in pre-mades. And where better to insure victory than players half your level.

Merely speculation on my part of course.

The same thing happened in age of conan where a gm was fired for doing the same crap lol. This crap happens more then people know lotro is where this crap is the worst you them dating customers and when you gank them they go look up your forum account and give you infractions for 2 year old posts or teleport you and worse

Gankers need open world PvP. I love open world, I love ganking, I loved games like UO and even DarkFail for a time where you could full loot and corpse camp people till they rage logged for the day, setting them back hours, days or weeks worth of time (depending on the gear they had). In WAR and AoC my buds and I had a blast spending hours a day on the weekend just camping people until they sent hate whispers and then pretty muched fapped to them. Ganking is fun in the same way that pushing someone down stairs is. It satisfies that ******e gene that all humans have.

However to even remotely try to claim open world PvP is anything more than ganking or zerging is rediculous. It never was, it never will be. It's like the most base level PvP there is. Can 8 guys shove one guy into his locker? Yep. Is it fun for them? Yep. Is it anything other than stroking ego and ******* to another persons misery? Nope. Same with "open world PvP" which constitutes raiding lowbie areas. Period. Otherwise people would get it rolling in the high level areas instead.

Not really sure many people would go through all those loading screens and the orbital station to help a guildie lol, bit painful to go through all that for a 5 minute cheap thrill. My guild would just tell me to grow a pair and get over it rofl. Edited by Navaris

There is a lvl 50 bonus series on hoth if I recall correctly.

Level 47, and those two or so players on the instance that can actually be bothered to do it are hardly going to be a match for a level 50 ops group in full PvP gear.

I don't see how ganking lowbies is going to gather support for an all out world PvP, maybe in WoW but not in this game.

You obviously do not understand world pvp, so your comments really do not add any valueable input. Let me break it down for you, so you can pretend to understand it.

We did not go to Hoth to exclusively gank low level players, we went there to stir up the repubs to come pvp. Why did we pick Hoth? Well its pretty complicated so let me explain; we went to a bunch or plants and tried to find people to pvp with. Ilum is a ghost town, Corellia has horrible load times, so queueing from there is painful. The Black Hole is great, except people just run into instances instead of fighting. So what does that leave us? We surveyed other plantes and this had the most traffic.

Why pick the planet/base with the most traffic? Because it greatens the odds of someone calling a guild or spamming it on fleet (which apparently happened). So apparently there was a "need" for our ops group to be there.

When rolling a character on a pvp server you should be aware that there is no such thing as "fair" pvp. There isn't any "this area is for pvp, and this area isn't". If its a contested area and you are on the opposing faction, be ready to fight, plain and simple, level/gear/gender/religious/race/age is irrelevant. Don't want to fight or be ganked, figure out a way to get out of Dodge when you see red before they see you.

Your TOS argument is pointless, killing anyone on a pvp server while they are questing would be a violation of the TOS by your definition. I mean should i run up to someone, wait for them to kill their mobs, wait till they med up, wait for his cooldowns, then we can start fighting? Or maybe I should ask them what gear they have before trying to fight them, if I have better gear, should I remove a few pieces to make it fair? What about the skill difference, should better players play one handed, or maybe with their monitor off?

Get real, roll on a PVE server and keep your PVE mentality out of the PVP forum.

If you find people willing to travel to some random planet through all the loading screens and whatnot only to see if their zerg is bigger than your zerg then more power to you. Sure seems like a lot of hassle for very little reward. Ahhh, this reminds me of AoC when my guild would take 10+ raid geared 50's and camp the level 15-20 area just to see all the rage and butthurt it caused.

Really I'm on your guys' side. Ganking lowbies who have no chance to hurt you is freaking awesome. It's like having permission to push strollers over with infants still in them as you walk down the street.

(Also I was part of SS/TM. It was about picking on lowbies and seeing who had the bigger zerg. Don't try to glorify it as anything more than that. Soon as the fight got even, IE: tedious, it died off. OWPVP is for steamrolling over the weak)

This on so many levels. We started a fight. We even continued that fight in the black hole after we were told to remove ourselves from Hoth. It was fun. This still, however, raises the debate the original thread hasn't gotten an official answer to. PVP Server vs TOS debate. Considering that was the main request I had with my personal CSR phone call regarding this issue i'm going to hope it finally gets settled by the officials. Then we can all move on. Regardless we all know who is right. We are. Not some player who wants to pick herbs and not die on a pvp server. No matter how many times we discuss it though until the fellas upstairs tell you its acceptable you'll always play this card.

World PvP, ganking, attacking lowbies etc is not against TOS on a PvP server. When you roll on a PvP server and you are in a contested area, you should expect to be attacked at any moment. That is the reality of a PvP server.

Now that said, lets stop pretending World PvP is anything but a lowbie gankfest. Let's stop pretending that the people ganking lowbies are "trying to summon higher lvls to compete with". Thats BS and everyone knows this. If you wanted high level PvP you'd go to where high levels are or compete in WZs with the big boys. Let's stop pretending that gankers are looking for fun and challenge. If you are at the level cap killing lowbies you are not looking for fun and challenge. You are looking to grief. Period. Just own it.

I roll on PvP servers when I play MMOs. I dont gank. Ever. But I dont cry, b****, or moan when I get killed by a higher level. Why? Because I rolled on a PvP server and that's what happens on PvP servers. It helps me learn evasion tactics and it helps to point out who the bad players are(you know, the ones in the lowbie zone ganking people instead of competing in their own weight class).

But lets stop the nonsense. Stop the lies. You arent trying to create meaningful PvP when you gank lowbies. You arent trying to stir up high levels(why would you go to a LOWBIE area to stir up high levels?). You are looking to grief. You need to feel strong and what better way to stroke your E-Peen than to kill someone you know cant fight you back. Period.

This is why truly competitive gamers laugh out loud at MMO World PvP. Because they know that MMO World PvP as it exists in most games is just cellar dwellers looking to frustrate lower level players because they can.

Is it against TOS? Nope. Should people who dont want to get ganked roll on PvE servers? Yep. Are gankers just griefers looking to exploit their obvious advantage for s**** and giggles? Yep.....

Right, cause clicking your mouse a few times and waiting a minute or so for loading is sooo difficult, do you get out of breathe standing up from your chair?

What you said is absolutely the reason for someone like you to roll a PVE server and the difference between pvpers like us and chumps like you. We do not want to kill low level players for giggles, we want competition which is why we started this fight and followed up this fight in The Black Hole.

Again your PVP inadequacies are showing. The zerg you speak of is acatully a carefully orchstrated ballet if you will. Chumps like you can't figure out the moving DMZ line and get caught in it and wrecked, then yell "zerg zerg", when its actually your lack of pvp skills that was the deciding factor.

Thanks for making it obvious that your pvp credability is nonexistent so others can ignore your future posts on the topic.

So every person you every fought in a mmo was the same level? You are full of it. You are not a PVPer, you are a carebear pretending to be a pvper. Ever been in a raid group looking for world pvp? Please take your pve opinions out of the pvp forum, we don't go to yours and polute it with inaccurate information.
